Sort of old news (but this was new to me), here's a nice writeup detailing how s30 was planned to be both "Second Chance" with the "Ghost Island" twist:

http://insidesurvivor.com/survivor-3...happened-28061

There are some funny gems in there, such as: "even fictional pitch Jeff Probst mentions 'big moves'."

It would be a pointless twist since you could never come back from Ghost Island with any legitimate shot to win the game. You'd arrive on day 37 with no alliances, no game history, no resume, nothing, and you'd get zero jury votes.

except theyre returning players so they all have alliances, histories, and resumes

What do you guys think about the news about potential Second Chances 2.0 coming from Redmond.

Game Changers has me burned out on returning seasons but if they must happen then Second Chances is an alright format.

Game Changers failed because the players with reputation Sandra, Tony, Malcolm had no shot given the reputation disparity at least with Second Chances the competition are all in the same range.

Who'd you want to see back ?

Off the top of my head David, Cydney, Jay and Julia would be ones from recent seasons. Most of the best from early seasons have already come back or are not willing now.

Another Second Chances, with the pool of one-time players being what it is, probably means a ton of recent players. I dont really need to see many s33 and s35 players back already.

Of folks who AFAIK have said they'd still be interested (so, e.g., no Shane Powers, no Greg Buis)

Women:
Natalie s16
TBird s3
Carolyn s30

Men:
Jim Rice s23
Bryce s28
Jean Robert s15

+1 to not having it be loaded with folks from s30-s35

There should be a season full of players whom the producers thought would be interesting players, but got bounced pre-merge for whatever reason.

Love that, especially if they can make sure said players aren't a big part of the survivor player clique that seems to exist against a chunk of the former contestants....

Do that, and pay off 3x the number of players who will actually be on, to say they are going to be on the season... And for once ahead of filming don't leak the actual cast -- then we maybe finally get a returning player season that isn't chalk full of pregame alliances, or at the least, a lot of their arranged alliances that they think are 5-6 players strong will actually only be 2 or 3 (with the rest being among the ones who were pretending they were gonna be on).

Yeah the problem I see with second chances is that probably close to half the cast will be from seasons 35-37 (it's stated to be season 38), and then you've got the M v Gen X and Cagayan people that they want to put back on and suddenly i'd expect only around 6-7 spots for people from older seasons. If they had a system in place whereby at least half the cast had to be from before Cagayan it would make for a better season I think.

So I'm watching S1 for the first time and am at F8. Incredible that for the longest time literally everyone but Richard were Level 0 thinkers and later actively REJECTED alliances for being unethical (?!) only to then change their tune when it became immediately apparent that their current course would cost them $1 million.

Also, just staggering stupidity on the part of Alphabetical Order MD. Are you kidding me?! Can you imagine trusting your physical health with a guy who doesn't have the testicular fortitude to cast a vote in a f***ing reality TV show where doing so was made known as being explicitly integral to the game, the consequences of which being you might be 10% respinsible for some dude not getting suddenly rich?! Karma's a ***** tho given he ended up being 100% responsible for multiple losers since the only Level 1 thinker realized his telegraphed vote was a freebie which one turn dictated their coalition's target lololololol rekt

Lol I re-watched S1 about 2-3 years ago and it was jarring.

I completely forgot about Sean dropping the line "fat naked f*g" multiple times. Times change...
