She's so far doing well to leverage her reputation and had the advantage of being perceived as a more honest and less erratic player than Tony. The moves she made this time were very proactive and much more forceful.

I don't think she survives the next phase of the game without a lot of run good as the new Nuku tribe is made up of JT, Malcolm, Jeff, Aubry, Michaela and Sandra. If they lose a challenge it would be ridiculous of them to vote out JT given how weak Sandra and Jeff are.
This is possible for sure. Maybe she realizes you can't luckbox your way through modern survivor as easily. She has had a lot of time to learn. I guess we will see. I'll be first to sing her praises if she has some game finally. Last nights ep does not bode well though.

Come on. Even if she won a third time people like you would still be screaming luckbox and believing Spencer and Rob C and probably even Garrett are better players than she is.

She entered this game with as close to 0% equity as anyone, because she won twice. She played old survivor where she really defined the anyone but me approach (that some hate and regard as invalid incorrectly). She played middle development survivor vs probably the toughest cast ever, which featured 6 other players who eventually won Survivor. Now she is playing modern survivor and seems to have adapted to that style as well.

Pretty much every contestant says playing Survivor is the hardest thing they have done, and winning it is very very difficult. The other players seem to have a genuine respect for her game and accomplishments, even Tony acknowledged that as he was leaving and in his exit speech. Results matter, and actual competitor opinions matter, quite a bit more than any poster in this thread on that topic. All of that leads to her being considered a great player, perhaps one of the top players. Hug your Tony and Spencer dolls and get over it.

All the best.

How can you not understand that winning is not a very good indicator of skill in a game like Survivor?

I enjoyed Tony during his year, and he certainly is among the most entertaining players they have had, but the target on him was a large part due to how he went out to play the game this year. He played it to entertain the cameras, and keep his character going. That's playing it as far from perfect as possible in his situation.

Was he was doomed no matter what? Probably not, but maybe, and believing he played it perfectly is certainly a stretch, although most Sandra seasons or debates end up being how a two time winner plays badly and someone out the first episode plays great.
I am pushing the Tony is ****ing awesome narrative here bub. Either agree with it or move along.

The actual players who play the game say different. Their opinions, and winning in general in competitions matter. Of course that is in the real world, not in the mental construct you create for yourself.

I agree that he is the best 19th place finisher ever.

Oh sweet it's the 'is Sandra good or not' discussion again, what's it been like three days?

Will be interesting to see if the take charge approach works for her. The closest comparison I can think of is Boston Rob on his last winning season where he took control from start to finish and got enough people on his side right away. However, he had the luxury of a bunch of new players who didn't know anything about strategy.

Isn't that three tribe separation JB91 mentioned a massive spoiler? I got crap for quoting something that wasn't even part of the actual game play.

I thought we decided at some point that stuff shown in the end of episode previews is fair game to talk about.

I honestly think he was out to get Tony because he felt inadequate for not being the craziest one on the island.

If they showed more than "drop your buffs" I missed it.

I will honestly be genuininly happy if Sandra has turned into a stratigic beast. I watch survivor for strategy beasts. The more the merrier. We will see.

Not surprised at all to see either Ciera or Tony get voted out first. If I had to choose one, I'd say I was more surprised about Tony.

To me, it was very clear from reading pre-season interviews that Ciera has an incredibly high opinion of herself, and constantly talks down about other people. For some reason, Jeff absolutely loves her. In fact, he even made her his pre-season winner pick. https://parade.com/553168/joshwigler...t-winner-pick/ (LUL Jeff). I had her pegged as a pre-merge boot for sure. I just got super bad vibes from everything she said in the pre-game, as well as what others had to say about her. As Rob C. likes to say on the podcast, the toothpaste is out of the tube when it comes to Ciera. I really think the only reason she was back for the 3rd time is because Jeff absolutely loves her for some reason.

Was I the only one not impressed with Cirie last night? I feel like her social game wasn't very impressive, and her conversations with people just felt like she didn't really make anyone feel easy. I also don't think she handled the tension with Ozzy in a very good way at all, both in the manner in which she brought it up, and also the timing of it.

Im a huge Cirie fanboy but totally agree. She didn't look good last night and her pregame stuff was way too cocky.

You guys didn't get the part where they were chasing a goat?

The two key parts of the preview I saw were that there is a green puzzle station at the next challenge and also a shot of JT sitting around the fire with Sandra, Michaela, Jeff, Malcolm and Aubry all in blue buffs.

I have no idea what the other two tribes are but I'm hoping that Cirie gets a better position. It seemed a little mean to put her on the tribe with two guys that she has bad blood with.

Just listened to RHAP and they pointed out this is the first time Sandra has faced early TC. I hadn't thought of that and it is a bit of a boost to her rep to have survived.

I did play it back after I noticed the green challenge thing.

I think new tribes should be fair game to talk about because otherwise we have nothing to speculate about for the next week.
