I don't think that Ponderosa really counts as it is a completely different story. So, during the game we only have 2 times? Any others? I read the discussion leading up to the quoted post and only saw speculation.

People claim that the physical exhaustion, hunger, omnipresence of cameras and general smelliness/dirtiness of the contestants make sex a lot rarer than you might initially expect.

At no point in the history of Survivor has the winner's edit been nearly invisible, which will probably never change.

I don't think anyone eliminated Tony from winner contention at any point last season. I mean, the very first episode he was pulling idols out of a pond and saying it's huge.
I don't think Denise was THAT UTR myself. She was more or less involved in most of the strategic moves of the season, it's just that Malcolm was the figurehead of the two.

I would say Vecepia is easily the most UTR player who has ever won.

Her social game was about on par with Russell's though. I remember reading all the interviews that season and literally everyone said she got a sugar-coated edit and was actually really hard to live with and very demanding.

and unrelated (i guess?) but is there anything worse than the overly dramatic reactions to one tribe getting their first look at the new other tribe. afaict there's been literally one worthwhile set of reactions in Survivor's history.
It' s just awful. The loved one stuff is just way overplayed and overdone.

This season just seems really dull. Partly because the editors are not letting us in on much of the alliance talk at all, and partly because we are getting far too much loved ones and trade talks. Also because we don't have any really good players this season.

Plus many of the contestants (I'd say 75% at least) have families and spouses or serious boyfriends/girlfriends.

A place like Big Brother would be a much more likely place to hook up, plus they tend to cast more single young people and they can take showers.

It would be a really huge edit for Josh to be first one at the merge, but it does seem like Jeremy would have a numbers advantage

I still think you're reading this one incorrectly. I think Josh's high-profile edit was more the product of him having to be the focal point because his tribe went to the first three TCs. One of us is going to be really, really wrong. (Probably me.)

lot of suspense so far

normally, the "we got SEBEN! we're good!" never pans out after it's thrown in your face like that, but these Survivor editors have been on another level lately

So...this might as well be the F2, right? One of Josh/Jeremy is going home tonight, and the other one is going to win (unless Jon backdoors a win somehow).

You could be right, I don't know. It just seems to me that Josh has been running the narrative all game, and they are focusing on things like his personal life in situations where they totally didn't need to.

Jeremy definitely getting most of the airtime tonight so far, but it also strikes me as "oh look, jeremy thinks he has everything in complete control, but not so fast..."

I still think the narrative is that Baylor ****s up Josh's game somehow (and these confessionals as I type are cementing that thought for me).

I go back to episode 2. If Josh was your winner, I feel like he'd have been given tons of credit for switching his vote on his own to make it 4-4.

8 person couples alliance makes no sense.
If they vote someone out tonight, then next tribal 2 couples and 3 singles vote out the other 2 couples.

gg Josh is probably correct. People like Alec, Wes have virtually no edit so I guess their side probably doesn't get the numbers after tonight
