Looks like Pete has potential after this episode especially were he is situated within the tribe. More Katie in the future would be good.

She needs to get out of this alliance with Abi though. Crimeny, what a high maintenance lunatic. I like how Pete said he was happy that Abi found the idol because she is his right hand man. ...I'm thinking it might be the other way around, but whatever.

So this business about Pete wanting to target Skupin and Kent wanting to target Penner...that's like latent neanderthal chest thumping? Or insecurity?

Why don't any of these reds want to align with Penner? Especially if he has the idol. Why not go along with him for a bit? Because he tends to rub people the wrong way, it seems like he'd be easy to jettison later on OR to go ahead to the end with.

Did Penner notice Kent's language: "if I have to ride in your boat for a while" That's not an enthusiastic agreement to an alliance, four finger handshake notwithstanding.

LOL @ Russell calling himself a 'strong player'.

Impressed by Malcolm making that decision.

Pete and Jeff Kent big movers this episode I guess.

I think the most obvious suggestion would be that Penner has put little effort into building sustainable relationships with the other members of the tribe and thereby is expendable to them collectively and individually. Including the variable of the idol and a returning player and it seems not that hard to fathom. This may just be the edit but showing him approaching Jeff (who seems to be at the top of pecking order and a natural leader) with the information of the idol to garner alliance. Is evidence enough to suggest he doesn`t know were the tribe is at or were he stands within the group.

My Survivor Game changes would be:
  • A player who sits out an immunity challenge is given immunity for the next tribal council, if they are the losing tribe.

A player who sits out an immunity challenge can never sit out an immunity challenge again during the season.

Both imply a lot of strategic thinking. If you sit the weakest and don't lose then you have to use her next challenge. Meanwhile if you sit a strong player, you have an advantage, as long as you can win again. If you can't win again you only lose a weak player.

What would happen in a situation that is simliar to what they are in this season. That will now have half the team sitting out a given challenge to compensate for the loss of the other team.

Yeah, I see all that. It just seems like it might be worth it to snap Penner up and use him. I would think that the problem is more that Kent finds him threatening and doesn't like to share the dominant position. And everyone else on the red tribe is a passenger by nature--therefore the idea of snapping someone up and using him would not occur to them. There is a chance that Dawson is a possible exception in the way of a backseat driver type, but I'm still not sure about her. Dana and Carter have been portrayed as obvious Kent groupies so far. I have no idea where purple Katie stands, but I assume it's with a foot in the grave or on someone's coattails.

I assume that Kent would eventually become a target...why not align with Penner and have him around as an alternate target later on? I just think Kent's insistence on seizing control and having his way is not something he can sustain. Having Penner (and his idol) to help him strategize would probably be beneficial. I'm sure Kent doesn't think he needs any help tho.

I think there may be a bit of fear about Penner too. He's not the best Survivor player of all time but he is relatively stragetic and intelligent. Returnees like that have a bit of stigma especially ones that aren't especially useful around camp.

I'm gonna gamble a bit on SS and take Swan this time. Really wishing i went Katie over Dana last episode.

Woohoo I survived another week of Survivor survivor, it was a sick sweat!

-Abi Maria is terrible. Why do you have to create drama out of nothing?
-Jeff Kent is really good, but his game is gonna blow up in his face once someone tells Penner that Kent was leading the charge against him. Or when Dawson reveals he's a filthy rich former baseball player.

Meh, it won't make a difference in challenges if they picked angie over russell imo. The guy already showed he sucks overall. Just keep your puppet and hope for an early merge. If that doesn't happen just vote out russell. You can make the palau case but that was yeeears ago and they don't seem to be doing it anymore. Not to mention challenges would be incredibly boring.
I have to agree with swag on RC's body, it's wonderful. Abi maria's ass is great, too. We had some shots in this ep where she walked away and I was impressed.
Btw, i'm really liking dana atm. She seems to be a beast in challenges, even though we didn't see much of here.
I also have no idea on who katie is

Russell is definitely better then Angie in challenges that don't involve water. I also think Russ is pretty loyal and he's going to be an awfully good shield for Malcolm which should buy Malcolm an extra 3 days to make in-roads with whoever else is on his future tribe.

Another good episode this week. I'm so glad that water challenges are back, it felt like they were using the same ****ty challenges over and over when they were in Samoa. Alot of movement this week strategically.

On the up

Abi and Pete: Despite being one of the most annoying pairs I can remember in all of survivor, they have managed to obtain the immunity idol and seemingly the loyalties of Artis and Lisa. ****.

Lisa: Seems to no longer be the first boot on her tribe. She seems like a nice woman, good for her.

Jeff Kent: Continues to impress with his perceptiveness around camp, comes off sensibly in confessionals and seems now to have an in with Penner, opening up a new option for him going forward.

The Matsing Tribe They may have lost a member this week, but I feel it's going to be a case of addition by subtraction. Getting rid of Angie was the right move for the tribe and Malcolm/Denise individually.

On the slide

Skupin and RC: The two most likable members of Tandang find themselves at the bottom of the food chain. Both needed to be more pro-active this episode in looking for the idol and separating themselves from Abi. Instead they sat back and looked for clams. ****.

In closing, the highlight of this episode was RC, GODDAMN!!!!

There are 3 tribes. I don't understand thinking there is anyway they will let a tribe go down to 1 person. Am I missing something here? Seems to me that production probably wants to get to 2 tribes asap anyway. The only other time they had 3 tribes was ALL-Stars. I don't remember specifics but I heard on RHAP that they merged episode 5.

Not sure if you watch the "next time on survivor" at the end

Spoiler:
It's clear they will remain 3 tribes for the next immunity challenge.

Entertaining episode. I really didn't expect the blue tribe to go to tribal again.

RC was in beast mode in that challenge, I don't think AMG does have a case to get rid of her in any pre-merge scenario, it just would be foolish because she's just a challenge beast and not afraid to take responsibility. That could hurt her later in the game but I assume she will be smart enough to keep a couple strong players around to shield her.

Not sure where all the love for Jeff Kent's game is coming from. We have seen like five Penner-less minutes of that tribe at most.
We don't know whether Jeff is in a good sport or not because that tribe hasn't really discussed any real strategy, yet, apart from their Penner-paranoia.

So far this season keeps me guessing who's gonna win it. It's possible that Mal and Denise somehow climb out of that hole but it's a long-shot. The yellow tribe does have a lot of prospects. It feels to me like AMG isn't winning, however, I can't really discount the rest of them, even Lisa could easily go really deep if she makes the merge.
Red tribe is a bit of a enigma. Maybe Penner and Jeff are just too good a narrator to give the others any confessionals or all theses other players are pretty much inconsequential for the outcome of the game.
Dana would be my dark horse in that tribe to win it. She's just visible enough for me.
Pre season I was a big fan of Dawson, however, she's just not in the show for some reason apart from her "I know who Jeff Kent is"-Joker she still has got in her pocket.

We haven't seen much of his tribe, but it seems he has people following his lead without being overly dominate. But once we see more we'll know more.
