Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

When tonights episode began up until tribal I thought Brenda was actually going to be one of the few great strategics this season until the re-vote! Has to be one of the WORST moves EVER in this series! Not only was Marty better physically, and strategically, he also had a immunity idol, and they choose to get rid of one of the two weakest players on the ****ing tribe?!?! You have got to be ****ing kidding me hear people!!!

So now not only has she pissed off Marty, but he is still in the game and has a ****ing immunity idol he can still USE!!! He's got atleast two more weeks! Bad, bad, bad gameplay!

It's definitely up there with JT giving Russell the idol. I can't imagine what they were possibly thinking voting KB out, considering they have a free shot to get rid of the only decent player in the tribe and the idol.

Words can't describe how stupid that tribe is.

Edit: Also, Marty voting for Brenda was terrible. He had no reason to think she'd get enough votes, it's clear they're going to flush out the idol, especially after counsel, so you either vote KB or Jane. But you definitely don't vote the ring leader of the group to "send a message."

Your right RML! There are no words that one can describe how stupid they are! You only need one word...IDIOTS!

Marty's vote for Brenda could make sense if he actually used the idol and thought that Jane switching to Brenda might disrupt a 3-3 split situation to allow it to possibly be 3 Brenda , 3 Marty , 2 random, but then of course he did not play the idol which makes the Brenda vote seem totally pointless since she is unlikely to be the person chosen if the other 6 do a 3-3 split.

Then of course the group of 6 get the result they want (ie: all 6 of them voted as planned), but without flushing out the idol so they vote out Kelly anyway.

Today was backwards day in Survivor.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

First, some thoughts on the epi. And I will definately be watching secret scenes before ranking these losers, so hold yer horses.

Let me back track a minute because I forgot to mention it, but Yve is a freak. Did you people watch her secret scene regarding killing the chicken last week? Freak.

Ok, let's see, where to start?

It's becoming clear that the reason why Marty looked so competent at this game was because his back drop is a conglomeration of idiots. Unfortunately, he's starting to blend in. Maybe I'll change my mind about this after KOS explains why all of Marty's moves were genius. He claims he can deliver Jane. LOL This was by far the most amusing thing to me...although him trying to impress Fabio with the grandmaster business was close. Fabio's so dumb. Being proud of yourself for getting him to believe irrelevant lies just seems mean. I think Jane dislikes Marty more than she wants to win the game. And he is claiming he can deliver her. Fabio and Kelly B were in an awful position in their old tribe. They needed someone to scoop them up, but were too stupid to realize they needed someone--like say, a grand tennis master--to scoop them up. Unfortunately, so was he. And now one of them is gone. How is it difficult to understand that Sash and Brenda are the ones calling the shots, so he definitely needs to attack the weak links? I'm offended that this guy was compared to Russell. Then, once TC is clearly going in the crapper, how does he not play the idol? I really can't believe that worked out for him. Ok, enough on Marty for now. Maybe I will revisit later.

Kelly B: "I'm on the outs with the old La Flor, so I'm just going to lay low, stick with them, vote out potential allies, and keep as many of my known enemies in the game as possible...Provided they don't vote me out at the next TC, of course. I gotta hope they fail to realize what a threat I am with my artificial leg as my only ally." gg Kelly B.

I'm not gonna bash on Fabio. Seems rude to poke fun at the mentally impaired.

And Brenda and Sash. Kelly B. Really? They come up with this plan to flush out the idol. He doesn't play it. And they don't vote him out. I don't get it. Plus, I'll have to rewatch, but I think that Marty vote might have been cast by Jane. I'm wondering if they left her out of all the strategizing. That's pretty much why she had such a beef with Marty and Jill. Leaving Jane dangling could be a bad move. They are probably Ok because she hates Marty so much, but if they are doing things without clueing her in, it could come back to bite them at some point.

I think somebody was suggesting Alina should keep Yve around as a potential ally, and I totally agree. Keeping Dan is a horrible choice for Alina. Weakens their tribe for challenges. Puts her own neck that much closer to the chopping block. Keeps another ally around for men. Really, really terrible. Of course, Yve didn't help herself out when she said she was in good with the Greys on La Flor. If Alina cared that she was in a formerly awful position at La Flor, that might have been a good thing to tell her, but she was as unphased by it as Kelly B. And it was pretty obvious the Pubes were sticking together at Espada. Yve would have been much better off trying to appeal to Alina and shaNaynay as a woman. Point out how Dan is not only going to weaken this tribe, but will always align with other men no matter what tribe he's on.

I think Chase had fair reasoning for keeping Dan as far as how it affects his own game. I might come around him eventually. But what does he think is going to happen to him if he is coming down the home stretch with Naynay, Brenda, Sash, and some random rejects? Who in that group wants to sit next to Captain America at the FTC? (Not that he's Capt. America, but he kind of is against that line up.) He'll have to win out or they will ax him at first chance.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

Also, I will be interested in seeing Alina's reaction to Kelly B getting voted out. Will this be any kind of wake up call for her?

Also, why don't Captain Americas ever embrace each other--that sounded gay, sorry? But Chase and Benry should be bffs, and trying to figure out a way to keep each other in the game for as long a possible because once one goes, the other is probably next.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

My power rankings:

Sash - Came up with the splitting the votes for KB idea. Running the alliance behind Brenda. No real target on his back and seems to be in good standing with everybody except maybe Marty and Jill. I want to drop him below Alina and Benry for not voting out Marty but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't so there would be a bigger target on Brenda.

Alina - Seems the most likely to be able to lead a counter alliance. Actually thinks about what to say to people. She was in an alliance with KB but it was almost by default since they both read the immunity idol clue together. Her comforting Naonka last week and then dissing her in the confessional shows she is really good at telling people what they want to hear.

Benry - Is keeping people around that are more likely to be allied with him and not other people in his alliance. Hasn't done or said anything stupid. Under the radar alpha male which is pretty hard to do.

Marty - He's thinking but is not able to sway people to his side. The fact that Jane hates his guts is a huge negative to Marty. It's showing me that he's not as charming as he thinks he is. Still, understands the numbers and knows calculated risk. Both very good attributes for a survivor.

Brenda - Very good socially around the camp. She'd be at the top with Sash if they would've voted out Marty and she didn't make that stupid tribal speech. Getting a little too cocky. Painting a target on your back as a mastermind with 13 left is bad news. Her social game and basic understanding of how to lie are big attributes.

If these two were smart gameplayers I would say because they want another stronger male to take the heat off of their back, which will keep them in the game longer. But I think it is all a numbers game for the younger tribe there. I am most suprised at how close Chase and Na are together! Na's such a emotional trainwreck in the game who would really want to align with her at this point?

Right because Chase thinks that other players who are aligned with each other more than with him, and some riff raff, are better teammates for him. {shrug}

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

Split the vote to draw out the hidden immunity idol, Martie doesn't play it, he ties w/ Kelly B and they vote her out because it's more important to knock out the one-legged girl than the guy that still has the idol... brilliant

wtf CBS, why all the feature clips naming the vote-out on the site? Never did this **** for HvV, and this is the first one I haven't caught live of this season and it gets ruined.

Oh well, I'll watch it anyway. No hopes of having that ******ed old blonde chick getting voted out though, very sad stuff.

Yeah, this was pretty bad.

Got suspense anyway! How'd Kelly B go home after they got their way on the first vote?

edit: oh, and I dunno if anyone else watched on cbs.com, but I can't be the only one that has sworn to never buy an Epic after watching all those terrible ads for it.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

This might be as bad as the China F7 where 5/7 people made completely stupid decisions that would have got them voted out under any normal circumstances:

Marty: lolwat. Jud was the right person to try and flip, but we have to believe that he failed. Think about what happens if he succeeds: Sash tells Jud about the plan to split the votes, and Jud goes and tells Marty. Marty tells Jud to go and talk to Kelly B. (who, according to her secret scene, would have been open to flipping) about the fact that Brenda/Sash want her out. Kelly B. flips, Brenda goes. Instead. he doesn't convince Jud to flip, seemingly doesn't work on KB, randomly tries to get Jane to vote Brenda after getting lolpwnt by Brenda at TC, and then has to rely on Sash/Brenda/KS making one of the worst decisions in the history of Survivor. Marty's position in the game just got better, but he shouldn't be in it at all anymore.

KB: So you can either stick with an alliance on which you're in dead last and which is ruled by the girl you tried to vote out, or you can flip into a secure alliance with two of the best strategists in the game, one of whom controls the idol. OMG WHAT DO I DO? Same for Jud it would seem.

Sash/Brenda/KS: This has all been said already. A terrible move by two people who seemed to be competent and one who seems to be little more than a voting machine (sixth episode without a confessional yo).

And obviously Alina voting for Yve was lolbad.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

Wow, just wow.

Holly, of the alligator shoe drowing, becomes the one Dan is confiding in about maybe leaving the game?

Alina seems to be doing everything she can to weaken her position. She decides to vote against someone who could have shored up her numbers, after she comes actively looking for an alliance?

Marty failed pretty badly in the leadup to tribal not trying to flip Fabio and Kelly B. Who did he think was on the chopping block besides him? If we believe the editing, he didn't even push Fabio to find out who the others were voting for. In that spot i'm pretty sure he has to play the idol.

And the re-vote. I dont think anything more needs to be said about that.

wtf was that lol. i guess kelly s and jud both like marty too much to vote for him and it's obvious, so brenda/sash wanted to save face? kelly s did say she thought marty had integrity showing the idol or whatever, still the original votes don't make any sense. looking forward to seeing wtf happened

that tribe seems so unalligned, really weird

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

Are people actually bashing Marty? Do you guys not understand EV? If he uses the idol, he's done next week, and there's no way around that. They probably would even throw a challenge to boot him. Yes, he risked going home this week, but Marty spoke the truth: using the idol buys him one (and only one) vote, but keeping it is potentially game-changing. If you guys bought into Russell giving Parv his idol, surely you must see the logic behind Marty keeping his.

The young people made more bad decisions in one single episode than any other alliance ever. Booting sympathy over Marty+idol is the worst, but the thing I can't make any sense out of at all: if you want KB out on the re-vote, WHY DO YOU EVEN VOTE MARTY IN THE FIRST PLACE? Vote splitting is only necessary when the two people are aligned and might give the idol to each other. If they were going to vote out KB, why not just throw all five votes on her? Marty still uses/doesn't use the idol since he doesn't know you're putting all five on KB, so voting five on KB just assures she goes home. Had two of KB/Jane/Fabio changed their minds, they could have booted Brenda, so the kids took that risk for absolutely no reason at all. Either tie it and boot Marty or throw all five on KB. This isn't rocket science.
