plus im not sure what internet some people are using, but it takes 3 seconds at most to bring up each 100 post page for me while using slow ass campus internet

I'm aware of your concern. Things I posted have happened pre merge and I figured if you didn't know certain people made it past the merge, you really don't read posts on here. I regret not tagging one comment I made, but it was only kind of spoilery (and pre merge). Are you in the middle of watching or just planning to watch soon? I wasn't planning on posting anything post merge without tags, but I did slip and say MMMMmmmm, Terry.

kart: cba to go back and quote, so I'll respond briefly. By flipping on Tom and Colby, JT relegates himself to 4th in the Amanda-James-Rupert alliance. Obviously you'd prefer to go against Amanda and James in front of a jury, but you have to get there first. Tom going ensures that JT becomes the Villains' first target if they have a majority post-merge (as looked very likely at that point, especially given that Tom was one of their strongest physical competitors despite being a fair bit older than he was in Palau). He could easily have cited James' injury as a reason for voting him off (and probably could have done without losing favour with Amanda and Rupert), or targetted Candice because of her perceived untrustworthiness.

I'm a little confused, are you saying being 4th is a bad spot to be in? I'm pretty sure JT would have no problem working himself (or winning challenges to get himself) to the final 3 against that brain-trust. I also don't think he knew how devious he was perceived yet, and didn't want to betray the alliance he settled on. He had a lot of trust to rebuild after sandbagging Cirie (a great move, btw).

I also think he mentioned that he had hops James would recover. A healthy James was miles better than Tom physically and far easier to control mentally. I'm not saying he necessarily made the right call, but just because it was absurdly obvious to us through editing doesn't mean it was correct on the island.

Completely agree that JT getting Cirie booted was an excellent play. I'm aware of the arguments in favour of being the bottom of the totem pole (i.e. being able to flip alliances constantly and hence having the most influence on the boot order since whichever side you choose relies on you for you vote, having a high degree of safety since each alliance will want to target someone from another alliance before you etc.), but I don't think they apply here. JT is clearly the biggest threat, and it is definitely conceivable that Amanda could identify him as such and target him, especially since her alliance still has numbers (3-2 if JT is booted). Keeping Tom and booting James actually better enables JT to be the swing vote if he wants (Amanda + Rupert vs. Tom + Colby, with Candice a free agent loosely tied to Tom + Colby). If the Heroes have to go to TC again, he can target Candice and then is free to choose between alliances if they have to go to TC yet again.

If he goes with Tom + Colby, he can plausibly say, 'Look, I targeted Cirie because she was a big strategic threat, she was dead weight physically and she would have flipped to the Villains if it was in her best interest. It hurt me to see James go, but we need to remain strong for challenges. It was in the best interest of the tribe etc'. Amanda and Rupert probably would have bought it, and Tom and Colby are unlikely to turn on JT.

I hope a situation arises in tomorrow's episode that is even half as interesting as that one.
