Did Holly's choice to make physical contact with Dan when breaking the shoe news strike anyone else as awkward an inappropriate?

BTW, I can't view the clips on the CBS website due to regional issues. Have any other Canadians found a place to see secret scenes etc?

On his secret scene, he seemed a little down hearted and blue about the eating and sleeping conditions. Sort of of fed up with the scheming already. And I figured he'd face some backlash for going back on his word to half the tribe this week. He seems like the type that might be bothered by that.

He doesn't strike me as the type who'd quite cause he can't hack the physical conditions, but I wouldn't be that surprised if he ended up pulling a figurative Colby quit.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

fellow non-US people: Easiest way imo is to find some sort of IP masking program, which lets you watch the episodes/clips in HD on the CBS website. Failing that, this thread (http://survivorsucks.yuku.com/topic/49735?page=120) on Sucks contains all of the insider clips and can be watched by anyone.

New Rob C. podcast up btw.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

if telling people how much his shoes cost hurt his chances at winning a million dollars, then shouldn't it also increase his chances of getting to the final 2/3 (since people should want to take him to the end)? obviously the contestants usually aren't thinking of it that way, but theoretically?

Alina made a mistake imo in not joining with Kelly B. in flipping her vote to Shannon; the only upside to staying on Brenda is that it signifies to the others that the votes are there for booting Brenda the next time they go to TC, but it's definitely outweighed by the fact that, if Brenda is out for revenge, Alina becomes one of the highest targets on her list.

Your thoughts on this Soncy (or anyone else)?
Yeah - from what we saw Kelly B (hopper) never did reveal that she was in the Shannon alliance against Brenda. Very smart move and if she didn't reveal at all, then it puts her in the pivotal position of being able to pick a side and stay out of the cross-hairs. I think she may have some game.

Brenda seems to be targeted a little too early here for me to think she has a the best shot. The others certainly are wary of the Chase-Brenda flirt/alliance. However, she gets kudos for having the spies out to be able to sniff it out and counter-act it.

I'm thinking hopper may be the favorite amongst the young tribe at this point.

Also beginning to think Hopper is much hotter than Brenda. Neither are anywhere close to Parvati though.

Forgot to mention what a c-**** that was.

Thumbs down on Survivor producers for giving one team a 25% edge in the challenge - that's way too much. Edge should be no greater than 10-15% IMO. Borders on rigging the show to ensure equal tribes.

However - it did lead to an epic tribal cause if the oldies went then it woulda been a no-brainer psycho-lady boot.

The ideal situation would be somebody UTR like Kelly Purple going home (thus preserving the NaOnka-Fabio, Shannon-Sash rivalries while making Chase and Brenda unpopular) but that would be impossible to engineer, and wouldn't have worked anyway after Shannon imploded at TC; given that, I think it worked out about as well as it could have done for them. Maybe I'm giving them too much credit; it wouldn't be the first time somebody stumbled onto the correct play by accident (viz. Sugar).

Alina probably needed to keep her mouth shut at tribal counsel for it to matter whether she flipped her vote or not. I'm going to rewatch FTC and and probably make some further comments, but I think my answer is going to be, yeah it's usually a good idea to go along with the flow once your plan is blown up, but in this case, I don't think it mattered that much.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

I don't like the Medallion of Power and hope that the producers do not bring it back next year. What is the point in using it when you know that it could very likely lead to you losing the very next challenge or whatever challenge the other team uses it? The smartest play if you do choose to use it, is the challenge prior to the merge.

The Medallion should be earned by winning some sort of challenge instead of having it go back and forth.

I'm pretty sure the medallion only exists to balance the challenges between the old and young tribe.

I actually hope they do bring it back because, as someone else already pointed out, I think it's better to get to the merge with even numbers. I also agree with Rob C. that you should always use the Medallion when given the option.

Then why let the young tribe have the power at all then? If they wanted to balance out the challenges then they should not allow it to go to the other team because it defeats that purpose. The older team barely wins with it. How much of a chance without the power do they really have?

Using it only guarantees that your tribe will be at a disadvantage whenever the team that has it, decides to use it. The best play is to not use it all so that you are alway at a even playing field.
