Lisi was a trainwreck though and that clique's behavior pre-merge was pretty obnoxious.
there was also a pretty serious rumor about a crazy ponderosa threeway.

Rocky, Eduardo and Michelle were alleged participants. struggled a bit to find info but it floated around sucks and such in like 07 for quite awhile if you care and look hard enough.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua
I'm going to pick up some old Survivor seasons on DVD, I saw seasons 1-2, Amazon, All Stars, Pearl Islands, and that's about it until this season. What are the best of the remaining? I know it's discussed a lot in here but just thought I'd ask.
And just for fun, which ones to absolutely avoid?

avoid thailand. wait until you get through other seasons to watch africa, guatamala, gabon, and nicaragua. absolutely watch tocantis, fans vs favorites, samoa, heroes vs villains, vanuatu(fairness, some people hate this season) and the currently discussed fiji.

Oh man, this (Fiji) is one of those annoying FTCs where the whole jury is uber-butthurt. I guess some people are into these scenes? But they just kinda make me cringe and hate all the people on the jury for being bitter petulant losers.
edit: At least Yau was chill. Yau is the man.

Alex and Lisi deliver 2 of the best/worst FTC speeches of all time.
Why did the 4 horseman target Cassandra in the tribal that Ed gets voted out?

agree to some degree at least. any all star theme that could give us a coach, phillip, stephen, rob c tribe would be awesome! (outcasts maybe?)

I thought Erinn was a non-entity - at least until F4 where she may or may not have had some influence in booting Taj first. But how did she get there? Complete outcast in her original tribe, flipped to Stephen/JT after the merge cos she had no choice, they used her vote to take out Coach etc., then she got dumped at the end. Kind of like a sane version of Shambo. Well I haven't watched it for a long time, but that's about how I remember it.

The odds of Rob Cesternino getting to play again are probably zero. He's already played twice, and it has been so long since his first two appearances that the average carbon blob probably doesn't even remember him. Obviously the group that listens to podcasts and/or posts in this thread would love to have him back, but that is such a small percentage of the total viewers that I can't see it happening.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua
Been doing some rewatching and so far the 3 people that impressed me the most that I either didn't realize or forgot how good they are have been Rob C, Chris, and Cirie.
I also think I have some irrational hate towards some popular contestants, like Yul and Ozzy. I think something about Cook Islands just tilted me even though a lot of people really like that season?? So glad they switched the Idol rules after that season at least.
Also I think I have an awful memory, because I have seen every season before when aired but forgotten sooo much

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua
I think most people itt kinda acknowledge that Yul basically luckboxed into a season where the hii was absurdly overpowered, and as a result got to dominate. Who knows how well he would have done otherwise, maybe he still would have won, but that certainly made it a hell of a lot easier. And I don't know if anyone really thinks Ozzy is a sick Survivor player... I think he was just a lot of fun to watch because he was a challenge beast that obviously just loved being out on the island. Plus it was a Parvati season which shot up it's value as well.
And yeah those three people you listed are all legit badasses.
I'm watching Gabon now, and once I finish that will officially have watched every season! Maybe I'll rank them all after.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua
I think CI plays out almost the exactly the same until the F4 if the idol is post-Fiji rules or is nonexistent. Yul ran Aitu like a cult, so I can't imagine Becky or Sundra ever turning on him.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua
Yeah but then Jonathan has no incentive to flip and Aitu is in pretty bad shape at F9

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua
I'm not sure, it just easy to make certain moves, when you can't be voted off, like maybe when adam is still in @ f5 I think they talked about voting yul just to get rid of overpowered idol. It is pretty funny that the idol could have been used all the way to final 4 also... when it is F3.
Also ^^^

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua
iirc Penner over mutinied to Raro because he thought Adam had the idol. If the idol is different or isn't in play, he probably never mutinies and Aitu has a majority at the merge anyway.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua
instead of donking around high stakes limit poker tonight I put on the Brenda boot episode of Nicaragua. I think Nicaragua would have been Survivor's best season ever if it weren't for the quitters.
Tell me something awesome that HvV brings to the table and I'll come back at you with why Nicaragua is even better.
