I'm going to be honest. If Rob C was the worst strategic player in history but kept saying **** like "trying to build cell phones to call their boyfriends to come over an help build the shelter", "camp vagina monologues", and his explanation of the magic-8 ball I think I'd be ok with it.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

I agree. But I dont think someone could think of these things and not be good at the game for some reason.

Amazon is maybe my favorite season. I'm a fan of no idol and a F2... It is in the top 3 non all star favorites for me along with Tocantins and Samoa.

Tocantins has my favorite characters though... Coach, Tyson and Stephen are all in my top ten... I really liked Taj and JT as well.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

I'm mixed on the idol. On one hand, I really like the concept of always having to keep something in the back of your mind and the strategy that goes along with it. On the other, no idol requires you to keep an excellent social game going to keep numbers etc, and causes more dramatic flips. The way they have it right now with an idol for each tribe, one at the merge, and replacing it whenever it's used is too much I think. I really liked it (the number of idols/location, not the rules along with it) during one of the earlier seasons (worded this way so not to let you know which one since you have not seen it) - there's one idol, it's in a neutral spot, and gl you only get it once so use it wisely.

I like the you don't know if it's F3 or F2 concept though. It can make for an interesting F4, but they need to fake it once with the honoring fallen contestants coming at F4 and then them kicking someone out and Jeff telling em Sry you're playing to 2. If we had to choose only one though, 2 is much better.

I also enjoy inland seasons a lot more than island seasons, although I can't figure out the exact reason (esp considering I do like water challenges).

edit: Heidi is smoking.
edit 2: Production value is drastically different. When you go one season to the next it's almost unnoticeable, but jumping back a ton of seasons makes it really stand out.

I'm gonna do my best not to bump this thing every 25 minutes, but I think this one is interesting.

If the girls had of lost challenge one, and Christy (the deaf girl) was still in and therefore couldn't sit out the next challenge, do you think they still would have had it be the everyone but one person is blindfolded and the one person left over yells direction challenge?

I'm still naive enough to believe the order of challenges is the same regardless of what happens in the game.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

I would like to see tracy from Fans v favorites play again - i thought she played an incredible game (and she very well could have won if chet didnt quit)

Also - I'm really surprised ppl think earl would have beaten yao-man in FTC. I think yao gets almost all of the votes. However, he only has himself to blame for not getting there. If yao promises to take Dreamz, he Dreamz & Earl can vote off cassandra & yao man still wins. Oh well - much easier to analyze when you're not in the game.

They polled the jury at the finale and Yau wins 6-3. I suspect in reality it's a bit more since Yau is a better talker than Earl.

Dreamz didn't keep immunity so he could make FTC; he kept it so he could boot Yau-Man. This is clear, as he would have otherwise tied up the vote and let Yau-Man at least compete in a fire challenge. Dreamz didn't need immunity to make FTC.

EDIT: To clarify, he did need it once they got to that point, but he wouldn't have needed it had he not wanted Yau-Man out of the game.

It's been a while since I watched Fiji, but didn't they show a confessional of Earl or Cassandra saying if he gives it up he's gone?

I don't understand this at all.... If I remember correctly Dreamz was going to be voted out if he gave Yao-man the necklace. And Dreamz knew this. Also, it was clearly a tough decision for Dreamz and if Yao-man offered Dreamz a way to keep his word & make the FTC I think Dreamz would have taken it.

edit: didnt see your edit even though I quoted it. Dreamz probably realized he wouldn't beat Yao but giving his word was obviously something very important to him (no I don't believe he was playing yao all along). Thus I think if Yao offers the deal I proposed he ends up winning.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

If he gives it up, he's giving it to Yau-Man, and Earl and Cassandra are sticking together, so Dreamz is the only person who can go home. It's not as if the deal was originally constructed as "give me the necklace, which causes you to go home," though, it just worked out that way. Yau-Man didn't actually care about Dreamz making/not making FTC.

But that's my point: this proposed deal is no better for Dreamz because he knows he loses at FTC if Yau-Man is with him. The point of keeping the necklace was to boot Yau-Man.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

Oh ok I think I just misread. You mean he tells Yau man he'll give it to him so long as Yau doesn't vote for him to at least give him a chance to win the fire making challenge?

I think that would have been a pretty good play, and lets him have a shot to get to the FTC without a ton of hate on him. Screwing over Yau Man killed him, but I don't think - again have not watched in forever - he was that disliked before that was he?

I still don't think he can beat Yau though

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

But what about Tracy from FvF - she was instantly down 3-7 in her tribe, paired with 2 of the kookiest survivors ever, yet she managed to keep her alliance together to the tribe switch where she would have voted out the powerful ozzy and been in control had chet not quit. I love how she played Joel in the one episode where Joel wanted to vote out chet or kathy griffen and she questioned joel's manhood and got him to vote out mikey instead.

Yes, Tracy is probably a very good player. Chet ruined her chances, and I'm not really sure why.

That actually is the reason Yau made the deal. He cut a confessional that this deal ensured he could get rid of Dreamz at final 4.

At the time Dreamz was considered a jury threat b/c of the sympathy vote.

My point is that it clearly bothered Dreamz to break his word. If he can keep his word & make FTC I think he would do it. I'm not sure how much of a chance Dreamz thought he had to win in different FTC combos, I think he may have just wanted to get there since he backstabbed the entire jury & as we know had no chance regardless. As far as the F4 vote I am assuming Earl would vote with Yao & Dreamz against Cassandra but I don't remember how tight E & C were.

I'm saying that, once he gets to F4 in that exact situation, this all becomes irrelevant. It doesn't really matter what the intentions were beforehand because the situation worked out so (im)perfectly for both guys. At F4, there is no deal Yau-Man and Dreamz can offer each other that makes sense. Yau-Man obviously would have rather gone up against Dreamz and E/C in FTC instead of going home if that was a reasonable option, but it wasn't BECAUSE DREAMZ WANTED HIM OUT. There was no deal that both players would have agreed on, as one of them ultimately ends up 100% screwed.

I think there was an illusion that b/c Dreamz was "homeless" that he would get a lot of sympathy votes. I don't think Yau realized how hated he was by the horsemen+Lisi. I think if Yau knew how hated he was he may have kept the car, but hard to say.

Welp clearly I was not right with my "I don't think anyone hated Dreamz til then" recollection lol.

On another note, watching Amazon and this is the first time I've seen food smuggled in. Don't they have camera's everywhere and can figure out who did this and remove them from the game?

yeah, it's a big problem that the jury is together on Ponderosa and afaik are allowed to talk about the game.
If you have made any enemies along the way and those people are persuasive they can get you into big trouble even after you've voted them out.

The jury on Fiji was bitter so Dreamz had no shot whatsoever. Add the factor that Dreamz is not capable of admitting any mistakes or any flaws he has.

In general, I don't think the sympathy vote really ever came into play. Most of the time players simply vote for the person who did not screw them or for the person that is less hated.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

lol... imo Chet is the worst player ever... He should of helped vote out Ozzy than quit... it would of been awesome.

One of the best exchanges ever:

Chet: "hit my head back there"
Joel: "I don't care."
Chet: "I know"

I think Joel gets too much hate and Chet gets too much sympathy. Joel is a big hulking jackass, but he wasn't horrible (even though the edit tried to make him seem that way). And Chet is probably the worst player to ever play the game. What was he even doing out there? Why was he cast? Why did he think he could be on survivor? And even through all that he still kept finding himself almost in positions of power, which he didn't want because he wanted to quit/get voted off. Poor Tracy was doomed from the beginning, and she still almost pulled off a pretty big comeback til Chet screwed it all up. She was definitely a top 5 player from that season and she didn't even make the merge.

I'm rewatching all the seasons starting with 1. I've seen all of them at least twice except Thailand and Africa. B.B HAS to be the least likable person in the history of the game.
