I think it's a stretch to say Stacey got screwed. They may have suggested that Hatch and Co. boot her over Rudy, but the bottom line is that Hatch wanted Stacey out from day one. However you want to slice it, the bottom line is that Hatch was the only one who had an idea what was going on in Borneo, and I question whether he would have actually kept her around, even without manipulation from Burnett.

Oh speaking of Probst at TC -- obviously he always meddles a bit, but at F8 of Palau, when it was between Steph and Janu, I thought that ranked right up there with his most meddlesome moments. He basically tried to convince the tribe to vote Janu, then when they weren't seeming to budge, switched to convincing Janu to just quit. There have been several times where I've thought he was kinda out of line at TC, but this one definitely stands out as in the top 2 or 3.

And on the topic of Palau -- that was pretty wild to just see an entire tribe get decimated like that, losing every single IC. Also, Bobby John definitely did look like Jesus, and kinda had this brooding personality that just exacerbated the comparisons.

He didn't convince Hatch of anything. If you read the deposition I posted you will see it goes a bit further than a suggestions. Burnett and the other producer whose name I forget cast themselves as Survivor gurus having daily meetings with them to teach them survival tactics. Dirk describes in detail how the cast felt about them due to this. So a suggestion on something that would make their lives easier (Rudy has more necessary skills than Stacey) would be like getting heads-up no-limit holdem advice from Isaac Haxton.

Sorry for the poker analogy, it's early and I'm too groggy to come up with anything better.

I dont think the game is rigged. Gabon and Nicaragua were way to awful to have the show rigged. Probst does influence things at Tribal and the challenges favor a certain castaway or tribe, but imo that doesnt make things rigged.

I don't think it's purely scripted, but I think the producers do a lot of nudging. Season 1 the nudging was just more serious than subsequent seasons.

Yes. I am not including Season one in there. There is obvious nudging, but I think it has to do with the questions Probst asks and the challenges. These are both things that can have a different outcome than what the producers want.

heh, I am just getting through Fiji atm. Love Yao-Man.

The youtube uploader that I was watching only uploaded the first 12 ep's though, so I can't watch 13, 14, and 15. Which is super lame.

Anyone know where I can watch them? Anything would work don't care much about the quality.

Thanks for the link! I knew there was another big uploader (was watching S18Episodes) that I couldn't remember.

In the meantime I started watching Season 1 for the first time.

Hatch clearly inventing strategy on the show. It seems like he was the first to actually employ forming alliances for strategic purposes.

The one girl was like, "I told them I'm voting for someone, but I'm really not!!!11" lol

They are really just a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off, running aimlessly. I wish they had more confrontational/stubborn minded old dudes or religious preachers in later seasons. They're great for lol conflict.

Probst really has changed a lot too. Before he didn't have the authority or feeling of superiority that he has today. He was so informal and relatable. After challenges he'd run over and give them what they win while saying his piece. Nowadays he just says come get it from a distance like they're pieces of ****.

Man what a giant fish move from Ian to bring Tom after winning the car. Like, they had literally just talked about how they couldn't leave the three women at camp. I assume they had some caveat for the car because of the chance that there might be another car waiting (a la Rob and Amber), but still, f that, you're giving up the game for the small chance that there's a car waiting for you?

edit: Jenn very much up there in terms of hottest Survivor women ever btw.

I remember being severely tilted by a lot of Ian's play. He's prob one of the biggest boneheads in terms of logic/street smarts on the show.

Jenn was sexy. It was sad and weird when I found out that she had died shortly after the show Kinda takes the hotness out of her heh.

Yeah, she died of cancer. That's a big reason Survivor turned all their charity efforts to Stand Up to Cancer.

I'm never sure which "lolian" moment is the "LOLIAN" moment. He kinda strings em together.

I have never seen Figi, but skipped a lot of the early stuff in the episodes and skip the challenges and rewards so each episode is pretty fast.

I just saw Mookie get voted out and I think Alex is playing a very good game. What do you guys think of his game (up until that point) I kno who wins this season, but I have no idea where anyone else finishes.

People talk a lot of **** about Alex from Fiji, but that's what happens when you're the face of an "evil alliance" like the Four Horsemen. I'm a big fan of Alex's storyline though.
He plays everything right, gets screwed by Mookie/Dreamz, and goes down fighting his ass off.

Then he and the rest of the jury go insane at FTC, and everyone gets a bad taste left in their mouth from Fiji and from Alex.

Yeah I loved Alex til his FTC performance. Still like him. Would be happy to see him back, but seems unlikely.
