accobra should def start the thread, so i'd like everyone else to hold off. accobra, take your time and wait until you think you have enough information.

anyone disagree? having a random start the thread with a crappy OP would suck.

Or maybe they're wrong, who knows?

I just know that they have been correct for the last couple of seasons

If contestants are officially announced tonight, someone volunteer to start up the new thread and plug all the contestants in the OP.
Rigged! That probably won't be enough to offset Rob's physical prowess, and Russell will have a smaller pool of DAGs to allign with on his own tribe. But wait, I'm being short sighted. After Rob's team kills in the challenges, there will be a plethora of girls for Russell to allign with following the merge. It's not like Rob can marry them all. He's already pulled that trick.

Brenda is a stone-cold lock to make it on an All-Star season. I think Fabio is much less likely than some people seem to think, though. Jane could make it simply because 1) she's popular, and 2) it's a struggle for them to fill 8-10 female spots in an All-Star cast. The age thing hurts her, but I think either Shambo or Jane (and only one of them) makes the next All-Star season.

Agreed. It's pretty much tradition at this point for accobra to start every Survivor thread.

I mean the season kicks off in 6 weeks, so cast info can't be too far away

Yea and last year for HvV they had a special at the PCA's, which were tonight. I think they will just say there are 16 castaways and introduce Russell and Rob sort of like they did on Guatemala with Steph and Bobby Jon

I would love to see that, but I think that their collective egos are way too big to allow that and also there is a good chance that one of them might get knocked off pre-merge (but still have a chance at making a Redemption Island run)

wasn't there a rumor that russell/rob might be immune until the merge? not sure how that would really work, it seems like the primary motivation for that rule would be to ensure good ratings pre-merge.

I think the Redemption Island twist is int he benefit of Boston Rob and Russell. I am also 90% sure they aren't immune until the merge.

I swear it took me the last couple of days to figure out that you weren't speaking of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. I was like "why would Jeff Probst announce the new cast of Survivor at a poker tournament?" lol.

Yeah, its not very likely. But man, they would be unbeatable and the entertainment value would be through the roof.

Jim, you might be disappointed by Cesternino in All-Stars. Amazon is pretty awesome though.

mlagoo: Voting out Christy was probably a mistake in retrospect (I doubt Matt throws the challenge if Christy's in the F3 instead of Jenna) but it took a weak girl who constantly cried and talked about quitting to win consecutive ICs to derail his plan, and Christy probably could have won those ICs as well. Other than that his game was flawless; I'm not sure what he did that was FPSy.

EDIT: robhasawebsite.com for the podcasts

Cesternino has explained this on his podcast. He was solidly with Butch and Matt (understandably, as that was obviously his dream F3), so they just needed to make it through that F6 vote, and they were home free. The plan was to vote out Heidi, but Cwisty was non-committal as to whether she'd side with the boys or the girls. Cesternino asked the producers what the tiebreaking procedure was, and they refused to tell him. Not wanting to chance a rock pull or some other wonky tiebreaker, he just decided booting Cwisty was safest, as it assured the boys would still have a 3-2 advantage for the rest of the game. So yeah, I don't think you can call that a mistake; it's clearly the right play since Cwisty was too dumb to understand the situation.

well i know rob c is like the hero of this board's survivor fans, i just can't see the wisdom in flipping again and voting off christy. she wasn't a serious IC threat, she probably could have beat him at FTC but wouldn't have got there anyway given that she was almost certainly out in 4th. i just don't get that move, it seems like potentially making an unnecessary enemy on the jury when you could just vote her out in 4th and have her be unoffended.

edit: posted before i read the above. that makes sense.
