I think in an ideal world, he wants to be in the finals with Benry & Dan (or he should, anyway), but thinks he has a better shot to get there with Chase & Holly.

I imagine he also thinks he has the jury locked already, with guaranteed votes from Nay, PK, Marty & Brenda. I don't know that he does, but based on his confessional tonight, he thinks it

Yep. Also, there is no way he felt comfortable with going with the men after he tried to open lines of communication with them and they seemed sort of semi-hostile and untrusting. I believe he has relationships he thinks he can work with the other four, and feels like he is a solid fourth rung with the men and would have to consistently beat Fabio and Benry in order to control his own destiny. Rightly or wrongly, I think he believes he can win vs anyone but Jane. And he may even think he has a shot against Jane.

The entire game Sash has seemed to try to keep open lines of communication, and attempt to keep his options open. I believe he feels like he has more options with the alliance he chose. Whether he is correct or not, I'm not sure. I don't think it was a clear cut decision despite insistence ITT that it was. The men were not inviting. I would have made me nervous to go with them too. He still has an idol and could pull a move to bounce someone if he wants, but ***possible Probst blog spoiler***

Spoiler:
Probst's insistence that he won't use the idol on anyone but himself may suggest that will not be the case.

LOL at Fabio saying that Chase chose the two least strategic players to go on the reward with him. No, Fabio, he left you, Benry, and Dan back at camp. I'm pretty sure the two are somewhere in that group. But we here at 2+2 will root hard for you because we love to see the 'anybody but me' strategy succeed.

Holly does not get anywhere near the respect in this forum she deserves. She is really running over this game, imo.

The CBS editing crew didn't so much as f*ck up, as slowroll the average viewer (with all the indications and signs pointing to a fabio vote out)

Anyone else notice Holly deeply staring down Benry while he was convincing everyone to tell Fabio who they would falsely target?

In other news,

ANYONE BUT CHASE OR JANE 1 TIME DEALAH

Wow, what did Sash do wrong? Voting out a major physical threat while setting yourself up with a group (Chase/Holly) who are ready to turn on their 4th member (Jane). Like, I really fail to see why this makes him a giant idiot in all of your minds.

You guys want to see blindsides and BIG SURVIVOR PLAYS? Benry and Dan were making a play, trying to blindside Fabio. Instead, it was Sash/Chase/Holly/Jane blindsiding all 3 of them at once. Really, I'm kind of shocked at the reactions here... Although I guess I shouldn't be. The 2p2 reaction after every non-HvV episode the past 4 seasons has been "omg these people are such idiots look at these mistakes i saw them make", while during HvV only the thread favorites (Russell/Rob/Parvati/Sandra/Amanda) ever escaped the venom.

Chase probably did make a mistake taking Jane on the reward (That was sure hammered home by the edit), but it worked out since Sash voted with his alliance anyway. Partial rungood, but some of it probably has to do with the social game and Chase and his group being likable.

Please Fabio immunity run one time!!1

I guess if Fabio wins next immunity they'll be voting for Dan because he is not one of them? Will be pretty f dumb. If he doesn't win it he is gone no doubt. No big moves at F6 (Even numbers)

Please please please don't let Jane or Holly win. It'll be taking us a lot of seasons back

If he is planning being in the F3 with one or both of the women he can't win. If he is not planning on taking them to the F3 and is planning on turning on them then good job for solidifying your alliance before betraying them and putting them in the jury. Keep in mind these ppl are dumb and will not vote for good gameplay.

Had he stayed neutral and stuck with Dan/Benry/Fabio maybe he wouldn't be drawing dead for Jane/Holly/Chase votes. Plus he has the great excuse he was not picked for the reward challenge and he felt allianated by them. Dan is a dream for FTC, Fabio and Dan cannot strategise to save their lives and are so transparent you always know what is going on. imo it wasn't even a close of a decision. There's not a single scenario where Sash wins right now. Only if he gets there with Dan and someone else where some of them made something pretty big to piss the jury off.

Onto stuff that actually interests me...This voteout was very uniquely-edited, and I think it was extremely well-done.

Most of the time at Tribal Council, the editors make one person a "Decoy Boot". It's usually the person who the actual boot votes for. Frequently, we'll see a late-episode confessional from someone who's made out to be a swing vote saying something along the lines of "It's a tough decision, I have to figure out which way I'm going to vote blahblahblahblah." We'll usually see voting confessionals for votes against both the boot and the decoy boot.

Tonight's voteout was different. No traditional decoy boot or voting confessionals. Despite that, I'm sure a large % of the viewership was convinced Fabio was going home after his two votes. I know I was.

The editors didn't hide what happened or how it was going to happen from us... They clearly showed who was in the group of 4 that voted for Benry. They showed Sash talking about the lies that were being spun left and right around camp. They showed what happened, and we saw things through the eyes of each of the key players.

The misdirection towards Fabio at the end of the episode was powerful. The editors told us exactly what was going to happen, and they didn't need to show Benry or Dan's voting confessional to fool us. Good, unique episode which I'm sure you guys will spend the next couple of days trashing. Have fun.

If we learned anything tonight, I think it's that Jane is still a massive target. The Sash/Chase/Holly alliance really has no reason to keep her around anymore, and they should definitely be cutting her loose ASAP.

Plus, three people will be immune next week, so there aren't many options. They can't possibly be dumb enough to vote out Dan (right?!), so the only people that should really be in danger next are Fabio and Jane (or Holly if that alliance crumbles). If Fabio/Jane wins immunity, you have to figure the other one is the likely target.

Your assertions in this post are ridiculous. I'm pretty sure Sash feels like he can win in any F3 composition that doesn't include Jane. Did you hear his arrogant confessionals? As for whether or not Sash is correct to make that assumption, I'm not sure if any of us can say for sure. All we have is like 500 minutes worth of edited footage to work off of, so to make these claims like NO SCENARIO SASH WINS NOW is ****ing stupid.

And the bolded section is just ****ing lol. You were a really good viewer last season hemstock, maybe you'll get it together for S22.

I've been lurking this thread most of the season and felt the need to +1 the parts of this pertaining to the editing job convincing the viewers (me) that Fabio was gone.

Back to lurking, I'm way too much of a survivor noob/don't have nearly enough time, to even try to participate in here. Thanks for some good drama(and some good analysis, sometimes )!

Something must be wrong with me because I thought Benry was going pretty much the entire time. I had a slightly perplexed moment until a Benry vote came out, then I was like, yeah...that's what I thought.

lolwat? Firstly, everyone in the game except for Dan and Holly (although even she won individual immunity in the double boot episode pre-merge) is a physical threat to some extent. Secondly, if Sash had gone with Dan/Fabio/Benry, he'd already be in a group of three willing to turn on each other, as shown by the fact that Benry was willing to vote for Fabio this episode. The difference between that group and the one he went with was that he can crush both Dan and Benry in a jury vote, whereas it'd be much harder for him to beat Chase/Holly, and he's now backstabbing jury members instead of just voting them out.

Benry and Dan were trying to make a big play? Were we watching the same episode? If you listen to the videos on CBS.com (which contain all the secret information that the nasty editors want to hide from us), Benry says that he voted for Fabio because he thought it was 'the group consensus'. Sash and Holly orchestrated the boot and - surprise! - they got what they wanted. It being a good or bad play for Sash doesn't change the fact that it was a big play. Also lol @ Amanda being a 2p2 favourite.

Chase definitely made a mistake taking Jane on the reward, which was rightfully hammered home by the edit. The fact that it worked out anyway isn't an excuse.

Holly is playing far better then Fabio, Chase, Dan or Jane. One could certainly argue she's playing better then Sash. I'd highly prefer Fabio win too certainly, but i think saying her winning would be "taking us a lot of seasons back" wtf that means is a pretty ridiculous statement.

i knew it was a huge longshot for Benry to win, but he made it pretty obvious he didn't win and probably didn't make f3 when he tweeted this wekk he would buy all his followers an ipad if he won survivor.

Also Brenda saying she would have much rather seen Benry still fighting in the game then at ponderosa definitely makes me go "hmmmm" about where her vote may land.

Why?

Dan is rich, absolutely wothless in the challenges and camp life, has gone under the radar post merge and also wanted to quit. Nobody will vote for him (maybe only Marty depending on who the other two people are). Also at no point have we seen him or Fabio trying to strategize or make an alliance (actually we see them briefly this episode when it's them 3 against the other 3 but once the other 3 get back from the reward it's all forgotten and suddenly they turn on each other wat??). Also Fabio is exactly the kind of person that when you confront pretend to be his buddy and ask him what's on his mind he will tell you exactly what he is thinking.

If I am Sash my first priority would be to form an alliance with these two people run good a little at the end since I have guaranteed F5 get to the FTC with Dan and possibly Benry and tell everyone what a strategic player I was and made it through even when my initial alliance was broken against all odds and all that stuff that would make for a great FTC speech. Instead he back-stabs Benry, makes a fool of Dan and Fabio by having them vote like dummies and is possibly gonna turn on Jane soon pissing more people off. Everyone is focusing on taking out physical threats that can win immunity and are leaving in the big3 (Holly/Jane/Chase) who are the Jury's favorites in. Maybe he is just focusing too much on getting to the F3 instead of who he wants to go to the F3 with.
