WTF AT THE PREVIEW?
Survivor: Nicaragua Quote

Wow Naonka if she had any hope of actually gaining face to persuade people in the final 3 if she got there then she blew that with her rant of rage at tribal. Unfortunately for those who feel the same about her like I do we now might be stuck watching this obnoxious broad for several weeks to come.

Interesting preview, not sure what it means except maybe someone got hurt which I hope not because in that case my guess would be Dan.

no. Dan and Na0nka are not on the same alliance. One will be there, one won't imo.

Na0nka might get some votes tho, depending on who is at the end and what happens the rest of the season

Sash and Brenda seem to be in position to JT + Stephen this season imo. They are simultaneously swing votes and in power of an alliance. If they want to flip at any time they can, but they have Jane, Holly, Na, Kelly P, Chase following whatever they say.

Brenda is so many levels ahead of everyone this season it's sort of staggering.

I liked Marty in the middle, but lately he's just constantly talking strategy to anyone who will listen. It was getting annoying, so I'm not super upset he's gone, although he was the only one I was really invested in.

I guess I'll start rooting for Fabio? Lots of good characters left, but I don't really like any of them. Except Fabio, but I just don't see him doing enough maneuvering to make it to the final 3.

My guess for next week is an animal got into the food or something.

I think Marty is one of those people who had the mental and strategic skills, but just none of the people skills.

If he got in a position of power I think he's the best at being able to ride it out to the end. Unfortunately for him when you're at the bottom, it's more about making people like you than about having great strategy. There's almost nothing he could do once he got to the merge because he had to sway Jane-Holly-Chase which is not happening, or sway Sash and Brenda, which as we saw, was not happening.

So looking forward, we have Sash and Brenda controlling the game. We have the tripod of Jane-Holly-Chase who have 3 people who are very tight and no strategic minds to threaten Sash and Brenda. We have Benry-Fabio-Dan who have solidified themselves on the outs. We have Naonka who is probably going to be dragged along by Sash and Brenda so they can take her to F3. And we have Kelly who is somewhere aligned with S-B and J-H-C but hasn't shown that she is capable of any strategic thought, or any thought whatsoever.

This season has by far the best tribal councils.

Na'Onka is so crazy her chances of getting to the final are not too shabby.

Same with Teflon-Dan. I mean who would be stupid enough to vote him out?
He's like richy-rich and everybody knows it. He won't win a single immunity challenge so he's not a threat.

My dark horse for winning at the moment: Benry. He's totally under the radar from what we've been shown.

Chase and Jane are just too stupid.

Fabio could be a thread in some challenges plus he's too likable, he has no chance. He lost another ally with Marty. As entertaining as he is he's going home in the next 4 weeks. I'm still not sure about how stupid he actually is. Here and there he says something where I get the feeling that he's not totally ******ed and clueless.

Brenda and Sash are playing too hard, maybe if they can get Holly on their side for long enough they might stand a chance.

It's a little bit disappointing that Marty is gone but it was inevitable I guess, he just played too strong without having the numbers plus his grudge match with Jane was just stupid.

I still have no clue about Purple Kelly. Maybe she has a secret alliance with Benry? Did she say anything apart from "milk milk" the entire season?

Anyway, it's going to be a fun

How do people keep picking Benry to win? He's a douchebag with no game and has been in the minority the entire game. By what measure does he have any shot of winning. Every week people talk about him winning. This is completely baffling to me.

Some things from the epi I did not approve of: Sash saying, "Yeah, I think Brenda trusts me 100%, and I trust her like 95%." That's too honest to be saying in front of the enemy, dude. Should be all, "I don't trust that biznatch."

Chase choosing to stay with the wimins. That was probably ******ed. I can think of reasons to do it. "I don't like Marty and I'm afraid I might do or say something that will hurt my game if I have to go hang out with him." or "My primary alliance is with the wimins, and I think I need to stay and keep my finger on the pulse." but I would think those reasons are paltry when you are starving and there is food on the table. (I personally would have jumped at the chance to zip line even though the food was going to interfere with my Survivor-diet. I've always thought zip lining looked like fun.) Not backing the men looks really strange in that spot.

Jane going on about Marty's evilness and maligning him as a father. That was completely inappropriate.

Naonka.

Marty's post voting walk.

Well, these last two items weren't without some amusement factor, so I can't honestly say I completely disapproved.

Regarding ABC Survivor. I tried to point this out, and you people argued with me. I'm still waitng for Benry to stage his coup. Maybe next week.

edit: this last bit was full of sarcasm. Hopefully, I won't end up looking like Marty after his jaunt back from voting. I noticed he wasn't walking that way on his way out.

These people are all idiots. All of them. How do you let Brenda and Sash, the two biggest power players, wedge themselves in between two alliances? How does pretty much every single player screw up the reward challenge strategy-wise? How are Benry and Fabio dumb enough to split off into their own, smaller alliance without a majority? Why does Brenda think it's smart to basically say, "Yeah, there is zero chance I take Jane to the end!" when she's in her ****ing alliance?!?!?!

This is like watching third graders play Survivor. At this point, if anyone but Sash wins, I'll be disappointed (purely from a fan-of-the-game POV). He's made a few mistakes, but they pale in comparison to the collective terribleness of everyone else.

EDIT: And Jane is unbearable. She's "hidden" somewhat because NaOnka is HOF-level crazy, but I want to punch Jane in the face. I HATE when people use the "I hope the good people prevail" line, especially since the person saying that is almost always a bad person (and a horrible player, but that goes without saying).

Editors are tying too hard to give us something, so they are trying to portray Brenda as the next Parv...hot and smart and running the game. I don't she is as smart as they are trying to have us believe.

My guess is is Sash, Brenda and the "humanitarian" have a final-three pact.

Also, the editing is messing us up with the "humanitarian." She is meaner that Russel, is not a leader, stole stuff, and yet they whole group is not after her? She tells half the tribe to f themselves and she didn't even feel the need to play her idol. She probaly just tells people before the tribal to wind her up and she'll put on a show.

Sash and Brenda are probably convincing others to take her out later.

I think the reason is that the season sucks, so the only way they can create drama is to make the tribal Q and A three times as long as it used to be, and have Probst ask way more questions that hit right to the core of issues, and also to interject his own comments to further cause tension.

I don't recall in past seasons that Probst actually worked to "create" the tension at Tribal. He often used follow-ups to keep things going, but it is not even transparent at this point that there is little or no drama within this year's season, and that probst is trying to salvage what he can by pitmg people against each other.

Kinda of sad how weak the characters are this year..

This is so true.
This season the editing has a weird feel to it. I constantly have the feeling that the create drama where no drama is.
Remember the scene where a player sat out for a challenge and they did a like two second close up with some strange sound editing.

We all know that the tribal councils are much longer than they appear on TV. What these knuckle heads don't get: Jeff Probst is kind of a player, too.
It's hard to say whether Jeff pushes them harder than the other players in other seasons. I think these players are simply too stupid not to fall for most of Jeff's trap questions.

No one forces you to give honest answers full of information. The clever players give answers like politicians with no information whatsoever. Johnny Fairplay was the master in giving answers like that.

They can't do really good challenges this season because they can't do these really physical challenges. They want to keep it fair for the older people which is o.k., I guess.

Where to start? I think I'll go with the untraditional, in the middle. Re the bolded: I'm a little surprised that you've lasted this long as a fan of the game given the requirements that you have for enjoyment. It's pretty standard for any random season to be populated with maybe one guy who plays the game in a way you can respect. Then, from a shear numbers perspective it's hard for that guy to overcome the masses and win. His task is made that much more difficult when he's either an @$$hole or he does a very good impersonation of one. And, no offense, but you seem to be drawn to players who are widely percieved as jerks (which might not be a big deal if they didn't have to win votes from the people they play with, but they do.) So all of these obstacles keep piling up for your guy, and you have a hard time enjoying the season if your guy doesn't take the win. Seems like a recipe for constant frustration.

Now back to the beginning. During China, pretty much the whole time, I was thinking, "Todd is going to win this unless they vote him out." So, as the game wound down, every week I found myself thinking, "Okay, they are going to vote Todd out now... Now... Now..." but it never happened, and Todd won. I admit, I'm having some deja vu, EXCEPT Brenda is no Amanda so I'm hoping things might be a little more interesting this time around. Anyway, the moral of this story is that it's fairly standard for Survivors--even grown up non-third-grade Survivors--to NOT do what is in their best interests. It's generally because they don't know what their best interests are until it's too late. But it's standard. What show have you been watching all these years?

Re Brenda's comments about Jane vs. Naonka: I'd have to call BS if Brenda tried to say that taking Jane to the end sounded more attractive to your average bear than taking Naonka. What Brenda said makes perfect theoretical sense. The question was a trip wire. I thought she handled it okay. If I was going to put someone on edge about my loyalty to her, I'd certainly rather it be Jane (because Marty has a point and everyone surely knows it) than Naonka (who is crazy and has an immunity idol). Besides, it was okay for Brenda the same way it was okay for Marty, and Brenda was much more diplomatic about it. Brenda needs someone to be a target other than herself and Sash. Why not Jane? 'She will win the vote.' Why not Benry and Fabio and Chase? 'They might win IICs.' This stage is all about throwing other people under the bus.

Benry and Fabio were the same guys that were not in a very good position with Old La Flor, but were more than content to remerge right back into that same position instead of attempting to hook up with some old people following the tribe switch. Jane and Holly kicked that portion of the game's ass. The kids who were on the outs missed the boat.

Things can always change, but somebody is going to have to grow a pair in order to overthrow Sash and Brenda. I can't think of who it would be. The guy who I thought was capable of mounting a counter force was (finally) voted out.
