I must say I love the strategy of surrounding yourself with worthless people (though Jill is actually pretty damn good, and I really like her as a potential winner). It would be pretty awesome if Marty, Jill, Dan, and two of the outcast kids end up on the same tribe. They could run this thing.

Also, the whole tribe split thing just confirms Marty's very correct choice to boot Jimmy J. last week and Jimmy T. this week. Physical strength, likability, and even odds of winning the game aren't as important as pure "alignability" early in the game. If people aren't going to align with you (or are too crazy to understand what's going on), get them out ASAP.

This is actually quite awesome. If I decide to switch, I'll let you know, but I'm not ready to send Russell to the bench just yet. Maybe one more week...

Here is an entertaining Marty reenactment once he runs out of idols at the merge

i can't stand naonka on the show but i'm beyond fascinated by her. more than jimmy t, randy, tyson, coach, russell and plenty more i don't care to list...i keep asking myself, are people really like this? and that's a serious question...does anybody in this thread know anybody remotely like her? i don't have any sassy black female friends but holy crap she's more unfathomable than michael scott.

Nay is def the worst person to ever play Survivor. I think part of it is really her, the other part is well aware she's on a hit series and knows she will get lots of airtime by being a bitch. heroes vs villains may have played a role.

it's pretty LOL how she's so aggro toward Kelly B and unless the producers deliberately left something out, there's no reason for Nay to be so aggro about Kelly B's leg.

NaOnka's continued status as the most messed-up person ever to appear on the show gives me a casting idea:

Survivor 24: Competent vs. Cluster****
Competent Tribe:
10 well-rounded, likable individuals

Cluster**** Tribe:

NaOnka
Shambo
Corinne
Sierra
Courtney M.
Shane
Coach
Russell
Marty
Lex

ONE TIME please CBS, make it happen

vyk: I'll take the Marty gif if Kos doesn't want it

It's yours. I don't think I can give up the Russell avatar just yet, especially IF (IF IF IF IF IF...and please don't confirm/deny) he's going to be back for S22.

lol old tribe is pathetic, do they plan merges ahead of time or could that have been an executive decision because obv the old tribe wasn't winning much

That next ep review about Marty's dreams coming to an end reminded me of when they started previewing Russel's demise around episode 3-4 in Samoa. Kind of annoying if you start paying attention to editing there are certain people you always expect to make it to the end. Marty and Brenda being two of them.

In the older tribe excluding Marty, Tyrone and maybe Jill who's gonna stuck with Marty everyone else is drawing completely dead.

I don't mind Yve's and Jane's chances to UTR go deep (particularly if they land on the mixed up tribe with Alina and Kelly B, who are v likely to flip to the older sub-tribe) - I think Tyrone has a possibility of being voted out due to being a physical threat early post merge.

Probst claims everything game-wise is always planned in advance. For instance he claims that in Palau the tribes were never going to merge and 1 tribe sweeping the other had nothing to do with it.

I know a skinny white chick who is at least as evil and selfish. She feigns a conscience sometimes though...but even that is pretty transparent.

Shocking that the Greys are having trouble competing. I'm guessing it could have been planned ahead of time.

I like Tyrone, but unless he gets away from Marty with this tribe switch and somehow builds his own base of power...I don't see how he overcomes Marty. Marty just seems much better at getting people to do what he wants. And I'm quite sure at some point he will see Tyrone as a threat.

I'm still not sure about Jill. If she is planning on letting Marty carve a swath for her to the finals where she either lops his head off right before or happily Russells him to the end with her because she thinks he can't get the votes, then she's in good shape. I'll have to see how things unfold with her.

You all know how Survivor goes. It is entirely possible that someone like Jane or Yve sits quietly in the background and wins against the person who ran the show and himself into the ground at the same time. It's difficult to actually tell who is drawing dead at this point. (Besides Naynay, of course.)

How do you guys like the gifs so far? They are made using Windows Live Movie Maker and gifninja and are taken from an HD version of the survivor episode.

People on sucks are complaining that they are too hard on the eyes, low quality, and take up too much space. There is a rampant feeling of entitlement and hostility at that site. It makes me cringe.

Feedback?

I feel compelled to throw Jimmy T a bone. I cannot deny that he is annoying, but I can't get behind the hatred of him ITT. He reminds me too much of Coach (just without Coach's fabulousness). But they both project a grandiose opinion of themselves, while actually being incredibly insecure and needy. It is easy to see how vulnerable they are despite their overconfident words. They both seem like good guys at heart--they don't seem particularly mean-spirited even when they are being annoying and getting on everyone's nerves. I just have a hard time actively hating someone like that even if I don't like him very much and probably would not enjoy spending time with him.

Take the sea urchin interaction. Looked at in theory, Jimmy T was more in the right than Marty. They are gathering urchins together as a tribe and putting them in a bag to take back to camp. Marty sits and eats a couple without putting any in the bag. Which is okay, because Marty is king of the tribe and we like him so he can do whatever he wants, but how do we feel about it if the players were switched? If Jimmy T is sitting around eating while everyone else is gathering as a group, he's an @$$hole, right? {shrug} I know nobody likes the guy who is constantly keeping score (in his own little alternate reality) and wants credit for every little thing he does, but at the same time, I have to give a guy some credit for his intent even if his execution is rotten. I believe Jimmy T actually WAS trying to be helpful to the others on his tribe.

And don't get me wrong, I don't think Marty eating a couple of Urchins was a big deal and think Jimmy T would have been better served by keeping his mouth shut about it. I just ALSO, think that Marty's reaction was too testy. Neither thing was really worth getting riled up about, and Marty was the one who seemed the most riled up. Remaining calm amidst annoyance is a good Survivor trait. But Marty is seeming more like Russell every day. I may have erred in saying he would ultimately be more diplomatic and might have a shot to win. Let's see how he settles into the new tribe.

+1 and +1. I'm pretty tilted that she has the idol for the younger tribe.

Glad Jimmy T is gone, his constant begging for a chance was getting pretty tiring. Dude, you're like 50 begging for a "shot", chill out. After the first time you mention it & ppl don't respond, let that **** go, keep your head down, & let your so-called skills in challenges do the speaking for you.

So with this tribe switch are some of the Pubes going to miss out on the rewards they've won? That should be fun.

Just watched Jill's secret scene on managing Marty, and I'm liking her chances. But does she realize how much of a threat Dan is to her?

Also, he (Jimmy T regarding: above) can't. That's like asking Coach to quit doing his Coach Chi, and stop knighting people. If he could keep his mouth shut, he'd probably just do that in the first place.

Did you figure out the 5 posters who would be contributing to the power rankings after each episode yet?

I had really high hopes for this season after episode 1, but now it seems almost painfully boring. The older team lost the only comic relief they had. It's always nice to see a player like Jill own overplayers like Marty, that's not enough to carry the show.

On the younger tribe we have a psycho in NaOnka, and a relatively high level gamer in Brenda. Before this episode I thought Brenda was owning Chase, but then she goes and spills the beans to him about finding the idol. Sure it would have taken some effort on her part to look for the idol that was already found with him, but giving up the info like that basically proves she's not playing him, she's actually in a tight alliance with him. I guess this is useful since Sash's alliance is bound to crumble.

I also think you guys are off base on NaOnka's chances. She's only hated by 2 or 3 people that she doesn't intend to allow to make the jury. The rest of the tribe seems to love her. That being said she is going to be in real trouble when the tribes shuffle next week.

Do you mute it the tv when she talks? There's absolutely no way she'd win vs anyone. I'm trying to think of someone that she might beat in the finals out of EVERY season of Survivor. Drawing a blank. She might get 1-2 votes if she was facing Dreamz in the finals.

It's hard for us to say. We are only seeing her terrible side. Clearly she has redeeming qualities because she is loved by her alliance.

LOL what the hell are you talking about?

How could we forget her caring/lovable side that the producers are obviously failing to show us
