E = V
J = X
H = VIII

Roman numerals FTW.

Ah, good call. But then why is there an 8 in the cave? Weird.

I kept focusing on "arm" for the third part, but I think it's supposed to be right mast (or right whatever). So maybe it's excavate/dig...eight (steps/???)...right of (???)...etc.

EDIT: Part #5 is treemail. I have no idea why I didn't get that sooner.

googling parts of a ship shows that that part of a ship is called a yard. So just guessing here but the clue may mean "excavate 8 yards towards the sunset from the mail tree"

Ding ding ding. And these people have NOTHING to do all day. Shame on them for not finding it a few hours later.

so these people are supposed to know that part of a ship is called a yard

I've managed to figure out the first two symbols as excavate, the roman numerals, and 8 yards but aside from the obvious hint at the idol being buried we'll need more information. Now what's interesting about the third symbol is the arm with what appears to be a clenched fist. Wait a minute...fist...fast...race. There's an auto race in town isn't there. Car thieves...out running the police...high speeds and expert drivers attracted to...grand prix.

No, but it's not supposed to be easy to find idols anymore, so I think they're hoping it takes at least 2-3 clues. But if you figure out that it's "dig 8 ___ right of treemail" with the first clue, it's pretty easy to narrow it down to paces, feet, yards, or whatever, and they have nothing to do all day anyway.

Excavate either near a cave or a prominent tree where you can see the sun set. Not sure what the ship means, but the numbers 7 or 8 have to play some role.

Sun is almost certainly west.

8 yards (yard arm on boat) west of tree mail?

So it seems I'm 0-5 in deciphering HII clues. I might actually be worse than Sandy

Reading Sucks is so tilting, how the people there all rate NaOnka at 8-10 and Marty at 0-1 on a 1-10 popularity scale is beyond me.

lol @ clue being already figured out by thread. excellent work, people!

pretty entertaining to see JJ. Shannon seems funny and Marty kind of reminds me of Brian from Thailand. Yve is hot.

She was really annoying in the speech, but I can't think of too many situations that would cause people to switch up their vote at tribal this early in the game. You don't want to make a vote-change move and have people think you are not with the program. You basically stick with the "anybody but me" vote that the tribe agreed to, which happened to be Wendy anyway.

I have a feeling about this girl. She's going to blow Parvati's game out of the water while you're all left clinging to some scraps with the old model.
