I was sure Operation Italy would fail due to the clown music they were playing during Andy’s pitch to split votes

That was legitimately one of the coolest moves I've seen yet and one I never would have guessed Andy could come up with, much less pull off. I'm not sure he's got the juice to get to the end as he's going to be enemy #1 of the underdog alliance which now consists of two super emotional players that are going to be seeing red when it comes to him whether he's the best target or not.

Teeny with another body blow as she gets clowned again. No clue what's really going on, became a pawn for Operation Italy, tried to steer the vote a different way and failed.

Her rant against Sam just because he's a CISmale was legitimately offensive - he's never voted for her, never said a cross word to her, she's upset when they try to talk to her, she's upset when they don't, and when she said "am I just a man hater" I'm afraid she might have heard me screaming "Yes" at my TV. Only thing I would have enjoyed more in this ep was her getting voted out. She might have murdered Andy and Sam on the spot, and I wouldn't have felt too safe if I was Probst.

How does it play out from here? Between Sue's idol, Rachel's idol, and Rachel's advantage, it's hard not to see it still being the underdogs with a 3-2 advantage after next tribal, and probably 3-1 after the following.

However, that 1 (or Rachel) is probably a decent favorite to win immunity or fire (probably against Teeny), and see a F3 of Rachel, Sue (btw I laughed when Rachel won immunity and they were discussing well it's Caroline or Teeny, never once giving a moment's thought that they would vote out the ultimate goat), and whichever of Andy/Genevieve/Sam survive.

True story, I was watching the episode alone so nobody can verify this, but during Teeny's meltdown at camp I literally said out loud "Teeny, just tell us why you hate men" like 3 seconds before she then said "am I just a man hater?" I couldn't stop laughing

tbh after thinking it over, if I'm Sam, I want Teeny next to me and Sue on the jury. Sam could discover the cure for cancer in a coconut on that island and he'd never get her vote. Sue maybe he could somehow pin the Caroline boot on Andy and get her vote.

Andy is a secret crusher. We’ve been duped again.

Spoiler:
Rachel is still the favorite, imo

But I feel like they telegraphed it was Caroline or Sue early on with how they were both feeling so secure. That's a death knell. Before opening credits, I was like, really? Carol or Sue? How the hell are we going to get THERE?

Teeny a horrible spiteful liar. Like there was some chance she was ever going with Sam had he chosen her for the reward. She wanted to eat and read her letters and then to vote Sam off. Don't lie and say any different. No one believes you, spiteful liar. Nice colors you showed when something didn't go your way...again.

And, Andy rips off his Andy mask to reveal...Ethan Hunt. Suckers!

Nice pivot by Spawn's daughter. I admire adaptability.

I'm glad this move worked*. I'm still team Rachel though.

*Ideally we would have voted off Sue or Teeny.

Also, Survivor alive and well, haters.

Not a good look for teeny this episode. Previously I thought she was clueless. Now I just think she is just a horrible player.

I had to laugh early in the episode when Sue of all people tells Caroline to wipe something off her face.

I particularly liked the acting job between Sam and Genevieve about whether she's playing her "idol" right before the votes were read.

Meanwhile, Rachel has a clear path to the end and a great win.

great season

you'd think the producers might tell 45 year old pigpen to hop in the ****ing ocean that's 10 yards away for a few seconds

I get that this show is basically as bare bones as possible from a budget standpoint now, but I do think it'd be nice if they'd at least do visits from home again instead of the letters.

Disagree. The visits sucked. Letters from home also suck but not quite as much

To each their own.

The visits used to be a staple. It was a big milestone for a lot of players who made it that far. I always thought it was interesting seeing the interactions of friends/family. It was a real big time reward for the players who won, or who were picked by winners, of those challenges. It was also a high impact loss for those who didn't get that benefit seeing their friends/family from a distance.

The letters are just a waste of air time. They're all like, "you're the best, you can do it! Keep being you!"

Took the words out of mouth. I literally thought from the very first scene in the episode which was told from Carolines perpesctive that they were telegaphing a Caroline boot. Was then followed up multiple times even before the immunity challenge of classic 'I can see myself winning the million' confessionals from her.

However I'm not even mad about how hammed up it was as that was still fantastic Survivor and a showcase in why the show has lasted 47 seasons.

I'm also not mad if we do end up with the very obvious Rachel win which has been shoved in our faces since the final 10. She will still be a very satisfying winner with a well told story behind it.

During the first couple episodes of the season, he seemed like a clueless loser that would go soon. Was this all an act to help get towards the end?

Andy somehow gets to the end with Sue and Teeny, he might win it....

"I crack open a coconut and they didn't cheer for me" "They don't like me" "My best friend out here is Jon, I am thinking about throwing him under the bus"

this guy, this guy might win survivor

Operation Italy was awesome. Would've preferred it was Teeny, she was going loco, but no love lost for Caroline. Once she started talking about winning, that was swan song.

Amen. This was my hope too.

To her credit, she did seem to handle it smilingly and well once it happened.

Op Italy may not have worked if Rachel didn't win immunity.

Her spidy senses would be raised and probably plays block vote.

And if Sam or Gen win immunity, Andy probably goes. Coulda been real bad for Andy.

If Sam or Gen wins, the 4 women split the vote between the other, and Andy and one of them still goes home (I think). But yeah, OI much more likely to succeed if neither win. I wonder if they discussed that at all.

Actually, Rachel winning was a big potential wrench bc Sue could have definitely given Caroline her idol, but she wouldn’t have given it to Rachel.

I think Andy missed a good argument to the 4 women as to why to split the vote. He should’ve said that Genevieve might pull a plan to show her idol to someone, and then give it to Sam, so they couldn’t be confident to do 4 and 1, they needed to ensure that they each got at least 2.

That argument would’ve been really smart, since Genevieve literally ended up doing this by showing it to Teeny.

I don’t know what they can do at final 6 to surmount Rachel’s advantage. But it was still good for Andy. This makes him very unlikely to go out before fire. And he will likely be up against Sue/Teeny

Is it enough to beat Rachel in final 3? Probably not but he has maximized his chance

Maybe if Andy wins f4 immunity and throws his own hat in the ring. That might be the only way Rachel can lose.

Sam tweeted something to the effect that they knew Operation Italy wouldn't work if he or Gen won immunity, implying they threw it. His attempts with the paddle certainly didn't look very good.
