Jaime with some level 1 thinking when telling her idol story. We're post merge - no one is going to think that is a true story, it's just too convenient. There is also no way it's +EV to do anything out of fear of the KIP advantage even if you did know it's live, which, of curse, she didn't. She reeks of a zero vote finalist.

Count me among those who are thoroughly enjoying this season, but I will say it's more than a little disappointing we didn't get to see either of the two fake idols blow up in someone's face.

Jaime's story was next level good. No one believes her so everyone thinks she has an idol, and they aren't going to bother flushing it so she'll just coast to goat f3. Obviously she didn't intend that, but it's working out quite well for her.

Best result would be someone getting a knowledge is power and trying to steal her idol.

As an aside, the sister of Omar from last season was a contestant on Jeopardy! last night.

I still think Carolyn made the right move. She sniffed out the Carson target from the beginning. Danny did not do a good job lying when she questioned him haha.

I mean the idol was used needlessly. I also think she's better off at f6 with the idol and no Carson, rather than the current situation.

That's hindsight, doesn't mean it wasn't the +ev play. Carson still took 2 votes. Lauren and Jaime were wild cards.

Carolyn's only hope is having Carson and Yam Yam on her side, imo. Danny, Heidi, Lauren, and Jaime couldn't care less about working with her or keeping her around when it comes down to it. I guess she could sneak through as a perceived goat with a deciding vote.

Maybe she's better off at f6 with the idol and no Carson, but she's not winning any immunity challenges or winning a fire challenge, so even if she survives another tribal using the idol, meh.

Carson seemed super appreciative of her idol use on him, so maybe he stays loyal. I think the preview of Yam Yam talking about taking Carolyn out implies she survives at least another tribal.

The people that likely beat her are Yam and Carson.

Heidi, Jaime and Lauren are just happy to be there. Those girls ally with Carolyn first to get Yam and Carson out. Only way she doesn't win is if f3 is specifically an all goat final.

If Carson is out, Danny in. Girls still work with her to get Danny and Yam out. Don't think people really cared for Danny's game and he's not getting a jury vote over Carolyn.

I doubt Heidi, Jaime, and Lauren are simply happy to be there. Maybe they girl ally, maybe they don't. Sex allies are a farce in Survivor. Even so, like you said, if the girls ally with Carolyn, it doesn't really matter whether it's Carson or Danny, except Carson actually likes and respects Carolyn, so she has more flexibility.

But other than Yam Yam/Carson not letting Carolyn in on the vote last week, they have been with her the entire time. Maybe she is drawing dead against one or both of them in FTC because of it, but keeping Danny doesn't propel her to the f3 anymore than having Yam Yam/Carson there.

It is unfortunate the idol didn't actually save Carson, as she could use that as a defense if she is up against him at FTC.

They really do have plenty of great characters from the past recent seasons for another great returnee season.

Carson probably a bit more suited to conquering puzzles than resisting torture techniques regardless of the amount of practice.
