I don't think his meltdowns are 'faked', but I'm sure he's aware that the meltdowns are guaranteed to give him a decent amount of screentime.
As I've said before Survivor is not like a super high roller mtt where the sole aim is to win as much $ as possible as much as super fans like to analyse it as such.
People always have and always will go on these types of reality tv shows for many different goals;
The actual Survival aspect, the five minutes of tv fame, to improve their social media following, to market themselves to then parlay into their personal business's, to try and be a fan favourite , to try and get asked to play again, to try and be an all time villain, to find themselves, to represent a minority, to meet lifelong friends, to find love.
We can go after Bhanu all we want but so far he's the 'main character' of this cast, so he's doing something right.
