As for Erik's call, I sorta feel like he can't win either way, and he probably gets a little deeper by sticking with SRUS (take out Sherri at F7, maybe outlast Brenda at F6, maybe win some immunities versus the chumps). I'm guessing his own thought process was driven by loyalty to the people he started the game with. Or maybe Andrea is closer with him then we see and she sold him, dunno. The real question with Erik is whether he knew how the other votes would break down before tribal, or if his sense of him being the swing was a vague thing.

It's cute how often some of you like to belabor this notion.

Erik seems like the person to take to the end. He seems like he does nothing to try to win.

For Erik it could have as simple as not wanting to force a tie, but it could have just been he didn't trust Reynold and it seemed Malcolm underestimated how much in control of Erik he was. For me I think he made the right decision as it's considerably easier for him to make final 3 against people like Cochran/Phillip/Dawn and Sherri who have all been pointed out by Probst as weak in a challenge at one point or another than the bros. Considering that in either scenario people will not want him to make final 3 because he will win.

F6 probably always Dawn, Cochran, Phillip, Andrea, Sherri, Brenda.

Well if it's actually that concrete (I don't believe it is) that he was seven. It still could be considered best to go with the seven unless his position within the bros was far superior which we can't clearly determine he was better than 6th. If not, then he shouldn't risk going to rocks and potentially being voted out for virtually the same spot.

Cochrane seems like virtual lock to win. Lol to everyone in his last season arguing he sucked.

In before Phillip claims to have orchestrated Corrine's demise.

Taking Erik to the end with this reasoning in mind is probably the dumbest thing any of the favorites could do. Erik fits right into the archetype of Fabio, Brett, and Carter...3 guys who very recently either won, would have been a lock to win, or would have been a very serious threat to win in the F3. And I don't think this being an "all-star" season would negatively affect his equity.

Dawn with a pretty powerful winner scene. They better get her out before final 4 since Phillip and Cochran are drawing close to dead vs her in a final immunity.

^^^^ This, you can even go further back to Micronesia, when he played previously and its hard to fathom him not having decent equity in a final 2.

Yeah, barring any idol shenanigans or immunity runs the season seems pretty straightforward

Well this is just wrong.

And regardless, that Dawn scene/confessional pretty much locked up she's in the F3 along with Cochran, will be interesting to see who joins them there. I don't think it'll be Andrea though. Assuming Cochran keeps playing a strategically sound/flawless game, I think he's going to want to target Andrea before they get down to 4.

they made it sound like he does nothing tonight. I didn't watch his season so don't know much about him besides he gave an idol away and lost. If he's a challenge threat I agree.

I can't believe how hard Malcolm got screwed. He had played pretty much a perfect game up until now. Might be worse than Tyson blowing up Rob's game in HvV

not to be a debbie downer on this awesome episode, but how ****ing obvious can you be about who's going to get voted out?

Not only do you show corinne saying she wants in on a blindside, BUT even MORE importantly, you dont give Sheri one goddamn confessional. Really?!

The girl gets 5 votes and you wont give her a confessional? you think nobody has realized that you need at least that on your boot day?

Great episode. Not going along with Philip's (asinine) plan to split the vote has to be a contender for WOAT.

so pumped for cochran to win an immunity. gotta be a huge thrill for him.

so many facepalm worthy moments for corinne that episode. wow that was painful. i was definitely perplexed why she didn't want to split the votes.

let's not forget the 4 guys on the wrong side of the vote have 2 hii's. i think the next couple weeks could still be plenty interesting.

He's a waste of space.

Really confusing episode, why was Corinne so against an Eddie/Reynold split if she wanted to vote 6 (5?) strong anyway? She's not that stupid, I feel like editing deliberately omitted a LOT of details to paint a pretty inaccurate picture of what happened. Where was Erik in all this? For all the people who are blasting Corinne for trying to recruit Dawn, AFAIK Erik wasn't actually on board at any point. In fact, it didn't even seem like he knew there WAS a ship to board in the first place. I want to be pumped for this episode but it just reeks of severe taint from the editing room with even minor scrutiny.

Also Corinne didn't do anything to Malcolm's game, Malcolm's game was ****ed anyway. He was at an innate disadvantage of being on a tribe of pre-existing relationships (Andrea/Phillip, Dawn/Cochran), which probably extended even deeper since several of the Favorites probably knew Survivors from other seasons. Remember episode 1 of S: Phillipines hadn't even aired when this was filmed. Malcolm is basically fan #11.

Edit: The other reason I'm really cynical about this episode is Corinne's Sherri vote. Why would Corinne vote Sherri, when Sherri was far more recruitable then either Dawn or Erik? I think Corinne had a long-term plan involving the fans (that may not have even been serious), mused with Dawn about it, and then the Favorites with a supermajority just decided to vote Corinne out because it was just as likely to flush an idol out from the Fans as voting a Fan. I think almost all the circumstances surrounding Corinne's exit are false.

Not sure if mentioned, but is Corinne the first jury member? Usually starts at 12, but I don't remember Probst announcing it.
