If I was on a season with Phillip I would do everything possible to get to the end with him. He might be the person drawing most dead in Survivor history to get a single vote. You might be able to put him in a final 3 infinite times and he would never get a vote to win.
Cochran and Dawn are obviously trying this strategy. The obvious problem with it is that they need someone stupid enough to vote with them at f7.
In a hypothetical f7 of Cochran, Dawn, Phillip, Andrea, Brenda, Corrine, Malcolm where Malcolm still has a hidden idol (from everyone except Corinne) Brenda/Andrea/Corrine/Malcolm are pretty much forced to vote out Dawn or Cochran
This ep was better than most of the season so far, but that's not saying much. Hoping Phillip is an early merge boot so we get to hear from some other people.
Compared to the last time they used that challenge on Survivor, this was pretty disappointing.
The first time they did it in Palau was one of the GOAT challenges. Babby Jon taking four bags (80 pds), Steph being the only girl who didn't quit and pushing them to jog, the sun beating DOWN on them for what seemed like forever, finally Tom, Ian, and Greg pull through.
This was completely lame, and you knew the way they showed Philip talking about strategy, he was going to fail hard.

yes, the palau one was GOAT but the last they did it before this - cook islands - was almost as lopsided as tonite's.
So Swag_check is a Duke fan. It's all making sense now.
I went to Duke idiot. Who should I be rooting for?
I don't blame you though, if I went to such an athletically and academically inferior school l I'd hate us too. I'm sure you guys have an elite chess program though, so kudos on that.

Michigan State will crush your soul Friday night.
I wish you were one of the worthless posters around here so I could propose a 2p2/thread permaban bet. But as it is no need to trade barbs, name your stakes: cash? avatar/location control? other?

Tribes are so ridiculously unbalanced this challenge was never going to be competitive. Did give me nice flashbacks of Tom "WIM" Westman goating it up.

Yes, because that's exactly what people were trying to convey to you: that Phillip is a "good" player. Between you and kirby, lolCanada seems to be in full effect when it comes to understanding Survivor.

Quoting this for emphasis because apparently it's a difficult concept for certain people ITT to grasp.

Situations are not the same at all.
As much as I would love to see it happen, there is a 0% chance an all br0 alliance would even sniff a F7 let alone a F4 with this particular cast. So I would have to question the wisdom behind Malcolm making this particular alliance (given this particular cast). With 12 people in the game, there is no way Malcolm will be able to bring in enough people to keep all 4 safe through that many votes (even with 2 idols and an immunity necklace that I presume will rotate between the group). All the vets+Sherri will want Reynold+Eddie gone immediately and even the faintest hint of being protective over them could really **** up Malcolm's game.
Phillip significantly hurt his already low chance of winning by not booting Corinne. Julia is a much better juror or F3 opponent for Phillip. Corinne will tear apart his character no matter where she sits at FTC.
I don't know what Malcolm's plan is. I guess he can take Corrine and Michael+3 other guys and vote out Phillip. Andrea probably won't go for that, but I assume Brenda would and even if she doesn't everyone knows Cochran won't draw rocks. I don't think he can stay with that group longterm though.
His other option is to just go with the favorites and use Reynold's idol to try to snipe out a favorite of his choosing without getting blood on his hands, but then it seems like Reynold, Eddie and Erik are the next 3 to go and he becomes the biggest target.
I know how sensitive certain people are over NToS, but I'm kinda looking forward to next week. I feel like challenge quality/diversity has taken a massive nosedive. Does anyone else just fast forward through half the challenges? It's like they draw their inspiration from Six Flags.
had to visit this thread for the first time all season just to make sure cochran's awesomeness tonight was recognized
the vanilla stuff was great, his confessional after philip told him he threw the challenge was fantastic from start to finish
"he wasn't throwing the challenge, he was trying his hardest, he was in full spy mode - can you imagine the speech he would have given back at camp had he successfully thrown a grappling hook, the spy's basic tool, at a challenge and won the challenge for us?"
I think Malcolm's assessment that no one wants to take him to the end is correct. Therefore he has to ally with people who have no other options, because they will be forced to take him all the way. Eddie, Reynold, and Erik (less so Erik, but even Erik was on the outside of the Favs) are the correct people to pick for that. If he can pull in Corrine (and unexpectedly for Malcolm, Michael as well) and pull some shenanigans with idols and/or the Favs vote splitting, it could definitely work. However, that would be a rather drastic flip/betrayal for Malcolm, and I'm not sure he'll pull the trigger just because he has a hunch that he won't get to the end otherwise.
Maybe there is some sort of middle ground where he gets Sherri plus one or two favorites eliminated before Eddie and Reynold are targeted, to improve his position enough to make F3.
There is a super high chance that Reynold or Eddie will be the target next week and Malcolm is almost guaranteed to be privy to that information. He just needs to tell Reynold and he can have his choice of player eliminated without any blood on his hands. At 11 he can then pull in Corinne and Snow to create a 6 person majority.
Ideally he should target someone that Corinne can work with and who is also a key member of SRus. So either Cochran or Dawn.
I think Malcolm is in the JT, Tom Westman category of it doesn't matter who is sitting next to them they will always win.

Is it really socially accepted to say "I love the gays, I love playing with the gays" every 5 ****ing minutes? I'm not even gay and feel sorry for the guy, over here she would be bashed into the ground for saying that kind of crap.
