Eh I guess it comes when you watch both shows and see similar facial expressions and what not.

One thing that tilted me thus far (I'm only up to e6) is the Harvard trivia, I get that they're trying to push the idea on us that Lewis is beginning to question whether or not Mike went to Harvard, but to ask Mike "Where to get square pizza?" and the other guy "How many justices on the supreme court went to Harvard?" just seems idiotic, at least give the other guy a silly question such as "What is the Harvard mascot?" or something like that

just skimmed through this thread and i actually was getting a bit sad bc i saw a lot of posts saying how they didnt like the show/thought it was dumb and i like it a lot.

im pretty sure i just agree with you about 100% wrt tv shows

i liked tonights episode all the harvey stuff was really good. the final scene almost seemed like it was cut short or something. i think they wanted it to be somewhat of a moment between rachel and mike but she didnt really put any emotion into saying thanks or they didnt have one of those cliche show one looking at the other when they're not looking moments

idk i just think it couldve been executed better

I liked the second half more than the first. A few cringe-worthy moments in the beginning.

The thing with those kind of shows, they always do this as cliffhangers at the end of the season. The show would be a lot more interesting if they had hooked up last episode, because the dynamic would change, but naaaahhhh.

Yeah, was a really good ep and Harvey's bluff was good writing imo.

It was great to see Mike interacting with the other nubs in that ep too mocking one first for drinking cosmos then hitting the other guy for having a really young girlfriend was great. More of that plz.

I also think Donna has become the best character on the show. Her lines/face time to general awesomeness is off the charts.

what sucked about the other first years interaction was the fact that it was pretty clear the black dude i've seen in other stuff (can't pull it right now but i feel like it was some show aimed at teens i probably shouldnt be watching) but hasn't been in suits was going to be guilty of the security breach. oh well...didn't ruin the ep for me.

i also respected the ending and the lack of hankypanky between mike and rachel. it'll come though

oh, and watching one ep at a time sucks compared to plowing thru the first 8

did i hear it correctly in the beginning when mike and rachel were working together and someone asked how long they'd been together... did mike mention someone about "sort of seeing someone else?"

also i thought last nights ep was great - the lawyer v lawyer battle between harvey and boston guy was solid - esp when boston guy totally owned him at the waldorf conf room. one step ahead...

one thing that sort of confused me

rachel says to mike "i may not have a photographic memory but i do know a lot" are we supposed to believe that mike told her about his secret or w/e off camera? or were the writers just trying to be clever (sort of like in a show like covert affairs when the sister wud tell annie that shed make the worst spy ever)

I don't remember Mike directly telling Rachel about his photographic memory.... but I wouldn't find it out of the realm of possibility that it came up (on or off camera) during one of the first couple episodes when Mike and Rachel were going through the huge pile of boxes w/ case info.

Mike probably told her about his photographic memory, or it was clear when he was doing it to win free drinks at a bar or whatever. Mike definitely didnt tell her his secret that he didnt go to law school.

That conversation was referencing how she knew a bunch of secrets about the company and who works there. IIRC in the final scene where she is with Louis she specifically mentions she knows a bunch of dirt on what he did over the years.

It's kinda weird how they basically ignored this after the mock trial ep - we've had, what, 2 eps since Mike banged her with absolutely no mention of her at all except for this passing comment? Seems like them getting together should have been fairly important.

Yeah, they probably should have mentioned her more, but there is a slim chance its intentional to force the point that first year lawyers work constantly so dont get much chance to have lives away from the job.

It could also be part of a set up where they meet up in a future ep and she is like "ive not seen you since the mock trial, we have barely spoke" and Mike is like "greenback boogie baby".

If she is never given any kind of reference until Mike and Rachel almost hook up but at the last minute he is like "im still sorta seeing that chick" then it would be pretty bad writing.

i honestly thought his reply to cancer lady was a way to thwart the tension that resulted from her comment...and nothing more (even though there is obviously some connection between mike and ex gf of drug dealing friend)
