yeah i was also gonna say that i don't quite know why he's so shook by that whole thing, or logan at this point, or why he'd meet with he'd meet with him if that's the case, etc but here we are

so much lazily contrived writing
(like the accidental dickpic thing too ugh)

I thought the dinner scene was ok. First time Logan had been THAT direct with Kendall particularly the Scotland deal. Plus Mom basically taking her ex husbands side saying Kendall can only go to certain functions. Seems like a pretty bad couple of days for ole Ken

i think kendall finally going yolo was what made his dad finally take him seriously

logan is ok with destruction of their personal relationship so long as it shapes kendall into the person he needs to become in order to continue the dynasty

I could see that as an interesting way to wrap up the season. Considering the slight smile from Logan in last season’s finale, Kendall has been his project this season

I'm very confused how anyone thinks Kendall could possibly be dead based on that pool scene.

idk, he looked drugged out & drunk and fell into a pool right after he was left alone

wouldn't surprise me if he's dead, and would actually be a decent way to advance the story at this point

I have really enjoyed the season of course, and wouldn’t necessarily want Kendall to be gone, but it’s time for something to actually happen.

Because Kendall having him over for dinner and semi-humbly saying "You win" isn't the kind of win that Logan is looking for.

In Logan's eyes, this was a betrayal of epic proportions. This was an attempt by his son to destroy everything he's worked for in his life. The only was Logan can feel like he "wins" is if he brings Kendall as much pain as possible, save for having him killed (maybe). And he can tell that at this point, Kendall actually probably WANTS to just take his couple billion and **** off forever. So why would Logan give him that?

For some people, the only way they can win is if their opponents lose as severely as possible, and are completely humiliated and destroyed. Logan is definitely of that ilk. Giving Kendall 2 billion dollars and his freedom would never happen.

For me, S3 E8 was one of the strongest of the series. At least 4 great scenes of A-plus dialogue and acting. They have already been discussed here except maybe for the Shiv-Tom interaction. Shiv says to a befuddled Tom “I may not love you, but I do love you.” This is the type of psychological doublespeak that permeates this whole great show.

I didnt think so either at first. but then I realized that "his storyline is over". common media trope where they kill off characters that arent of their previous usage. after the dinner scene there isnt anything left for Kendall to do.

oh and then I read something about people shaving their heads to prepare for death.

and then why did they make a point of Iverson leaving him there?

I can see 2 arguments, one being that Kendall's arc is over and his death would help propel the narrative next season.

The other is that killing off characters is sorta cliche and most viewers have seen it coming, so it would almost be too expected.

2 main reasons they won't kill off Kendall:

- he is as much the lead protagonist of the show as anyone. So many of the relationships and storylines of the show flow through him. And he is Logan's #1 adversary (among main characters). There is no way that the show would abandon the biggest rivalry and focal point of the series.

- this just isn't that kind of show. Sure it's a drama, but it's similar to maybe Shameless where it actually describes itself as a dark comedy. I could maaaybe see them killing off a secondary character at some point, or a lead character in the series finale. But not that this point.

the main reason why kendall probably isn't dead is that there are already a lot of storylines that might need to be addressed in the finale:
- gop primary? connor for president?
- the doj stuff? not quite buying they just "went away", especially after pissing off the outgoing president
- the streaming deal, sandy & stewy collaboration
- shiv forcing a roman v gerri battle
- shiv & tom getting divorced?

what am i forgetting?

some of those are probably over already or can be pushed to next season, but seems like there's already gonna be a lot going on, before throwing kendall's death on top of that

Yeah I don't think he's dead. I like the other theory that he comes forward with the waiter story - I always thought he was too cowardly to do it but he's lost pretty much everything at this point so maybe he'll do it

It never occurred to me that he was dead/dying but him offing himself at some point wouldn’t surprise me.

I don't think he's dead either but you need to watch the pool scene again. Kendall was drunk and face-down in the pool. His kids went inside and then it clearly shows him start to inhale water before the credits rolled. He might be dead or he might have just been trying to feel what the waiter felt while he was drowning.
