This tilted me too

Was nice seeing Adrien Brody tho, I must be watching the wrong shows/movies because I haven't seen him anything since, like, the Pianist.

Only caught up just now, but after 4 eps the writing feels a bit more lazy than the previous seasons and the show is a bit less... gripping. Even though it's a satire, there was some really sweet tension on the previous seasons that just feels gone. As an obvious example the Logan/Kendall meeting should've been packed with tension but it was a dud.

Still a great show tho.

He is the lead in the new Stephen King show called Chapelwaite on Epix. Season 1 is complete but I have only watched about half so far, its pretty good.

Love Adrien Brody, he was great...hope he's in it more.

So he owns 4% of the stock, which lost 10% of it's value, so Brody lost $350M?

Jesus.

Brody was great. Very well cast as hedge fund guy. Good addition to the show. Needed a little fresh blood after 3 straight weeks of basically just family dialogue

Less Roman this week which was good

Prob best episode of the season

My Top three most WTF? Succession conversations of recent S3 episodes:

3rd Shiv tells husband Tom that his idea of going to prison is "genius"!
2nd Geri tells Roman to put his footwear on (why is he barefoot?)
1st Tom tells Greg he wants him like Nero wanted Sporus (castrated)

there maybe others that are more strange but those come to mind

Quick number crunch gives Waystar Royco an $87.5B valuation. Is that right?

Seems in the appropriate ballpark.

One issue with the show is the desperate desire to hold onto the company. I guess it's a family business whatever, but it has been completely tainted by the Kendall allegations so why fight so hard to hold onto it? In fact why would Stewy and Sandy even want it? Seems toxic at this point.

They are all filthy rich and would still be so after a buyout. Why doesn't Kendall just go start a new media company or something?

1) A huge % of their net worth is tied up in shares of the company.
2) some major portion of their current lifestyle is paid for as corporate expense
3) ego

Clients that I have that are stupid rich with family or closely held businesses (not on the Roy’s level but well into 8 figure wealth) 1 and 2 prob aren’t even in the top 10 list of reasons. Ego is a big one tho

I binged the show over the last few weeks and really enjoyed seasons 1/2, but they kind of lost me with S3E2. Watching Ken try to pitch his plan (lol?) to his siblings felt like wasted airtime, like I was watching a repeat episode where I already knew the ending.

It feels like they weren't really prepared for the show to last past two seasons, but that's just the vibe I get. I think literally killing Logan would make the show far more interesting.

*Still enjoy the writing though- the show makes me laugh hard multiple times per episode, and I appreciate that.

you really dont get this show. not trying to be mean here but like...the point was to show how rich they are. they made the help schlep out a ton of oysters and then at like 3. then they got lost and it was so far away that they were hard to find and then they blamed the help for not finding them. it was ****ing hilarious.

and then while his dad is dying, Ken tries to land the deal and even the sociopath billionaire was like dude maybe you should focus on your dad here.

Brody was in Peaky Blinders which is an awful show. but its also a ****ing awesome show.

anyway, if the meal at the beach tilted you, do you remember that meal in the house that had the dead animal in the chimney? it was like gourmet catered food and then Logan made them throw it out and thye were just dumping food in the garbage and then they ordered pizza.

ego is why there's a lot of dumb money in angel investing

people like connor want to have something to talk about other than collecting wine and travel so they throw a few million at some startups and can now laud themselves as an angel investor and people suddenly look at them in a whole new light

Okay, that ep redeemed the one before. That was everything amazing that I've come to love about this show. Backstabbing, the twist about Logan being out of it. Even Greg as a backstory killing it behind the scenes and Kendall doing crazy stuff. Shiv definitely making a play.

so when Logan was incapacitated then Kendall sold a bunch of the company to Sandy and Stuey. this time when he was out of it Shiv gave up a board seat.

ofc, it didnt really seem like either had a better play at those times.

at the end when shiv was saying that they talked about putting her on the board previously, did we see that happen? i don't remember

anyway it'd be super funny if logan just gave it to roman or conor or someone instead
