I was just gonna ask if anyone else was following the podcast. It's some really quality material, I could listen to those guys talk for hours.

Yeah watched every episode. Steve is a bit of a buffoon but lucky there is Michael who has a lot of insight being a writer on there as well and one of David's favourites.

Impossible to judge much from a trailer but I am very excited for the movie. Michael Gandolfini is a spitting image of his father. Vera Farmiga looks fantastic as Livia (and crazy how much she resembles Carmela).

I'll go see it but first impressions are that it relies on action than the script which is probably the studio wanting it that way given it is a theatre release and needs to appeal to the masses who haven't seen the tv series.

i love soprano's so will definitely watch and that trailer has me very excited.
I'm going to have to ignore the nit in me about timelines and ages of characters etc as they don't seem to matchup with the series.

Also somewhat wish they made it into a hbo series and not just a movie.

I'm fine with a movie. Nowdays it seems like studios and execs will bleed anything they can dry...a bunch of sequels and spinoffs that nobody asked for.

If Goodfellas came out five years ago, we'd probably have a "Adventures of Nicky Eyes and Jimmy Two Times" by now.

I highly doubt the theatre release is going to appeal to the masses.

Unless the movie gets spectacular good reviews and subsequent hype, the main theatre clientele will be Sopranos fans. Everybody else will most likely catch the simultaneous release on HBO Max and watch it at home for free.

Trailer looks good but as always that doesn't tell us too much. I still wonder why they had to keep that kind of movie on the shelve for a year.

On a related note, I hear they've cast Margot Robbie as a young Ginny Sack working the tie counter at Wannamaker's though.

Just came to say that I'm about 1/3 of the way into season 6, FIRST TIME WATCHING.

I'd seen up to S3 back when it aired and then just never finished. I do know what happens in the final episode (more or less).

Certainly held up well. Imagine how annoying AJ would have been if social media had existed? Lol he was the worst pre-social.

Ginny Sack was so fat that when she went camping the bears hid THEIR food.

Anyone check out the latest episode of talking sopranos? Julianna Margulies still looking great and Steve at least somewhat respectful for a change.

I see she's a TIME 100 most influential people, has a star on the Walk Of Fame, Golden Globes, Emmys, etc.

I'll have to check out the episode in order to believe that Steve doesn't boil all of her accomplishments and talents into "boy, is she good lookin or what?"

Is Gandolfini jr. a little too weird looking to be a lead? I do realize Buscemi is A-list. Either way looking forward to it.

This isn't subtle, but I found it interesting in retrospect.

Dish is having a free HBO weekend. HBO is replaying The Sopranos, I assume because of the above movie.

Happened to catch the episode in which Big Pussy is killed. Also in this episode are Meadow's high school graduation, and Tony's Mom getting busted with fake airplane tickets.

From the graduation, we learn that she was in the class of 2000. In the other story, Tony's Mom is calling from Newark for help because she's in security getting interrogated.

At one point, Tony says, "how ****in' hard is it to get on a plane?"

Turned out to be kind of sadly prescient.

Just watching the latest talking sopranos episode and I always found it odd that in the sit down mediated by Carmine Jnr between Tony and Phil when he brings up the death of Phil's brother by Tony's cousin that why was it brought up in the first place (which is kind of an obvious obsevation given that they were making headway) but also why would he bring it up as he was the one to directly benefit from all of Tony B's killings as it was basically a war between Carmine Jnr and Johnny Sac for leadership of the family at the time of these deaths and these hits were to try and achieve that outcome for Carmine.

Few decent parts in the movie and some obvious fan fair, but overall didn’t think it was very good.

One of my pet peeves about the Sopranos was the quality of acting once you get beyond the main characters. For a show considered an all-time great, there is a LOT of noticably bad acting going on.
