Chris being in his thirties when the show starts seems kind of bizarre. They try to show him being a dumb kid in the beginning, so I always assumed he was in his early twenties in season one.

I forgot about those times at Uncle Pat's farm but in that one flashback, Chris is hanging around the pork store and he looks to be in his late teens, at least that's how old they wanted us to think he was during that scene's timeline I think. I believe it was the flashback where Tony realizes that Pussy was wearing a wire under his Santa suit? Anyway the timeline has to be off because Tony definitely wasn't in his 20s there, it was just a couple of years before Jackie died but AFTER Pussy got pinched, so not long before the pilot.

According to Deadline, James Gandolfini’s son is playing young Tony in the Sopranos prequel movie.

Chris mentions how Tony and Steve Buscemi tied him up at Uncle Pat's farm in that episode. It was implied that they were late teens and Chris was 10-12.

They are finishing up casting right now to shoot this year. Not sure when they will make the final decision between theatrical release and HBO but either way I would expect the movie to be out some time next year.

I have very low expectations, even if Chase is doing it. Have TV shows turned into movies ever worked out well?

Sex and the City movie was well received by Sex and the City fans. Many people are saying they liked the Star Trek movies. Serenity was good. Simpsons movie was excellent. South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut was the best musical ever made. 21 Jump Street was great. The Entourage movie was, well, terrible.

Mission: Impossible, Police Squad! (Naked Gun), Star Trek (Shatner/Nimoy films), and The Fugitive come to mind immediately. That's a wide range of genres.

A Sopranos prequel doesn't have a lot of appeal to me but I'll certainly watch it.

It's unfortunate a lot of shows feel they need to go out "big". Killing off so many characters late in the series' run makes it hard to tell any future stories in any format.

At the end of the The Sopranos, the only movie we could have made was "Paulie Walnuts and his Weird Cat".

Little Paulie told bad jokes and got his poo poo pushed in twice after telling one.

First by Eugene after saying "you outta know sweetie" in reference to kissing a fireman joke.

Then by Christapha after saying "get some toilet paper" in refernce to Benny's "look at this pile of ****"

Here is something I totally missed over AT LEAST 6 viewings of the episode Kaisha.(final episode of first half of season 6) It always seemed like a throwaway scene (even though I know they all matter) until I read this:

This snippet and the scene in question can be seen at https://sopranosautopsy.com/season-6...i/kaisha-6-12/
His words , not mine:

"There is a scene here with Chris and Julianna that seemed kind of weird to me when the episode first aired. The two gaze at each other with long, serious looks as they debate whether or not to use Valerian tea to treat Julianna’s cough, and then the scene strangely fades to black:

I understood that Chris and Julianna were taking the decision to use Valerian seriously, because the stuff contains a form of opiate. But I didn’t quite understand Chase’s decision to use the fade-to-black, a transitional device very rarely employed on The Sopranos. Upon rewatch, however, the fade-to-black feels more justified—it adds more gravity to this scene, a scene which portends some very bad things to come. Chris underestimates the Valerian when he tells Julianna, “Worst-case scenario, it might help you sleep.” But the scenario that actually develops is far worse: Chris and Julianna’s drug use is out of control by the end of the hour. Christopher will be clean in later episodes, but his ongoing battle with chemical dependency will ultimately lead to his removal from la famiglia."

About Tony's food poisoning where he had all the fever dreams that told him he needed whack Pussy: I think it was Tony's subconscious making him sick because he could no longer deny Pussy was wearing a wire. When he first wakes up he's crying about how he's the most depressed he's ever been, then it transitions into a GI thing.

He blames Artie, saying it was the mussels they ate the night before. The mussels he puked up undigested. Artie says 'if they were undigested how could they be the cause!?" and Tony responds "That's when my body shut down, protecting itself".

At Vesuvio, Pussy gave Furio a detailed blow-by-blow account of how the calling card scam they were doing worked. Tony knows this isn't right and looks at Pussy with a look of great sadness before seeming to tamp down his feelings. Then Artie comes over and Pussy orders a plate of mussels for the table.

Tony's first dream was about how he was gonna light him on fire to spare his guys

This might not be a new revelation but i'm watching Funhouse and i was blown away when it was Pussy that ordered the mussels. Or it could have been the Indian restaurant, idk.

That is an excellent take. I always figured Furio was just explaining to the audience how the scam worked, but you are right: the camera zooms into Tony's face and he is obviously taken aback by Pussy's detailed explanation. Nice catch!

Maybe has been discussed in this thread, but how is Chris Tony’s nephew/blood? Tony has 2 sisters, neither of them chris’s Mom. I don’t think Chris’s dad was Tony’s brother. So not sure how they are related

Wait, Chris isn’t Tony’s nephew - they’re cousins. I think. But he calls him his nephew because of the age difference. I think lol

chris' dad was made and in tonys "family" and they were very close.
Chris is Carmela's cousin and Tony took him under his wing and is a father figure to him and calls him his nephew as a sign of endearment.

I believe he said at some point they were distant distant cousins but he is a 1st cousin of Carmela.

When Adriana's FBI handler asked Adriana about the cousin/nephew relationship, Adriana explained that Chris and Carmella were cousins, but Tony referred to Chris as his nephew. Adriana then nonchalantly stated: "It's an Italian thing."

Why is Tony’s plan of having Chris be the guy he gives orders through and eventually take over centered around Chris being his “blood”?
