I was rewatching "Second Opinion" when Tony beats George with the fish. Tony storms off and Silvio is sitting there, subtly nodding his head like "well, that was completely deserved"
BUT this guy has been doing entire episode highlights and might as well start with this one, from Season1 ep2,it is solid and should give a good feel for show.
That's funny, I started digging while awaiting replies here, and found that BK,R guy, and sent her the first one I found. s2e11, featuring:
--"You're FLEXXXXXING!"
--"How many Migs you shoot down last week?"
--TONY: This is the only country where the pursuit of happiness is guaranteed. Where's MY happiness?
MELFI: It's the pursuit that's guaranteed.
TONY: Always a loophole!
--Melfi hitting the bottle before "T.S." appointments, and starting a fight with a stranger in a restaurant who won't comply with her rude order to extinguish a cigarette.
--Some incredible Uncle Junior lines:
(knock on door)
BOBBY: Who's that?
JUNIOR: Judge Crater. How should I know?
BOBBY: The judge who gave you house arrest?
JUNIOR: It's an expression! Go answre the door!
NURSE: Mr Soprano, you have to stay in the wheelchair until you're completely out of the hospital.
JUNIOR: So call a cop!
JANICE: Why didn't you just call a plumber?
JUNIOR: (calmly) With what, my (exploding) F***ING TOES???
BTW, the whole subject came up because I had nothing to do last night, so I decided to watch a Sopranos episode for the first time in forever. Went with Whitecaps. What an acting clinic that one was!
intervention scene a decent shout, but i'd aim for something less spoilery
this one from what, the 2nd ep?, came to mind
or some trailers idk, i'm sure there are some really good ones out there ppl have made by now
just tell her to watch the pilot, it's only like an hour long and it gives basically a complete picture of what the show is about (family, "family", anxiety, depression, rage, etc)
My buddy's girlfriend is a reasonably-intelligent, cool chick. She likes to watch tv. She just told me she's never seen The Sopranos.
I got the brilliant idea of sending her a YouTube link to a sample scene, to give her an idea of what the show is like.
What scene should I pick?
Come on, OOTV, use all your skills, and all your powers....
I just binged watched a few episodes over the weekend. One scene that I forgot was really hilarious is the boxes of ziti poker scene where Sil goes ape**** over the kid sweeping while he's bitching about losing in poker.
Rewatched Animal House last weekend, forgot how good it was OH MY GOD IS THAT ZELLMAN'S MUSIC??!?
Gilbert Gottfried has a pretty good podcast that focuses a lot on Old Hollywood. He had Peter Riegert (Zellman) on a couple of weeks back. It's worth a listen if you're into that sort of thing. They go into his Sopranos stint a bit and talk about the scene where he gets whipped by Tony, he said that the sound you hear were real hits across his back, but the belt was made of styrofoam so he didn't feel a thing.
The ONLY thing that I hated about the Sopranos was how they did the gambling scenes. They ALWAYS f them up in one way or another. That is a project for one day when I have even less to do than now, haha
Go through each gambling scene and pick it apart.
Anyway I always crack up at the way Tony kinda instigates Silvio when he gets jerk off Gismandi to sweep under Silvio. Chris wasnt kidding when he said that Silvio was a sick f when gambling.
Pauly hears about the lawn maintenance guy getting his arm broken by Feech: "I remember him. He's a kid from the neighborhood." Maintenance guy is Pauly's age.
Phil sitting at a bar grieving his brother's murder. As Phil looks at his brother's portrait above the back bar, he says, "he was just a kid." Phil's brother was 47 years old.
The crew is at some old mustache pete's funeral. Someone (I don't know who), says, "look at the kid up there." The dead guy had to be in his seventies.
Johnny Sack refers to his lieutenants as "kids."
Phil at a sit down with Tony. Phil says to Tony: "listened kid." Tony blows up. "I'm not a kid." Phil says "relax, it's just an expression."
Just found out recently that Michael Imperioli was only 5 years younger than James Gandolfini irl. Christopher basically young enough to be Tony's son in the show.

Not as weird as "Golden Girls." Estelle Getty played Bea Arthur's mother. Arthur was 15 months older than Getty.
I don't think that Tony was supposed to be old enough to be Chrissy's dad in the show. In season five Chris talks about hanging out with the Tonys when he was little and thought he was talking like he was 8 and they were 17.
