Tonight the episode where Christopher hooks up with his cousins movie producer girlfriend and AJ smokes pot at his confirmation was on. This is a phenomenal episode.

At the end of the episode Christopher finds the red head about to go on to an appointment, the have a fight and he calls her a 'd girl' and she gets livid, what's a d-girl?

Development Girl. It's a low-level studio position...sort of like an assistant to an executive.

Yes, it's universally panned.

Why is that episode deemed to be so inferior?

It also has some of Tony's moms best lines....

'Christopher' is a much worse episode. This episode is sort of goofy but it's hilarious and also has some lines that reverberate throughout the series (in the second to last episode or final one, Anthony Jr. quotes his mother calling him an 'animal' at his confirmation as being traumatic + Livia's 'the world is a jungle' speech which is the show's characters' life thesis is also in this episode).

Any episode involving Adrianna's stress or Carmela's longing for Furio was worse than AJ's Confirmation.

Oh, and here's Paulie ignoring Sun Tzu's advice:

Watched "Another toothpick" tonight, where one of the plots is Vito's brother (?) getting severely beaten by "Mustang Sally". When Tony and Vito (plus some other guys) convene in the hospital, Vito expresses his anger over who did this to his brother by saying "I want this guy to bleed from his a$$hole". Ironic given how Vito ultimately meets his demise.

Sorry if this was already covered - I haven't read the entire thread.

Is that the ep where the guy gets the **** beaten out of him with a golf club, in series 3?

Remember last watch through that was the ep that stood out to me as the point where the series really hit its stride.

The best part was Adriana saying "he didnt flip you off, or nothin" as that would have been justification for the beating.

When the guys hang out with the Icelandic hookers and one says she's from Reykjavik and Tony says "oh you will and you'll clean it up," what the hell does that joke mean?

Pretty sure you quoted it wrong but he's saying if she does (presumably vomit) she is gonna clean it.

Yea kinda thought so, I always remember it as "oh you will" so why would he demand that she puke then clean it up, so makes more sense if I'm misquoting it.

Seasons 2 Episode 11 "House Arrest"

Junior is being helped back into bed by his nurse after taking a piss shortly after his stent operation.

Quote:
The nurse tells junior he needs to watch his heart.

Junior replies that his heart is fine, "when I get outta here, we're gonna go to a discoteque, you and me."

Nurse chuckles "discoteque," and smiles at Junior.

Bobby rolls his eyes.

Junior: "what's so funny?"

Bobby sighs.

A fed walks in: "Mr. Soprano, I'm Michael McLuhan from the U.S. Marshall Service, here to re-attach your electronic bracelet."

Junior: "They give you the important jobs, eh?"

McLuhan rolls his eyes at Junior.

Nurse jumps in: "Excuse me, your name is really McLuhan?"

McLuhan, while fastening the bracelet to Junior's ankle: "right."

Nurse, incredulous, "So that makes you 'Marshall McLuhan'?"

McLuhan turns and responds "that's right," a bit annoyed.

Nurse makes a smirk.

Junior: "What? What's the ****ing joke?"
The "D-girl" comment at the end of the episode "D-girl" wasn't as subtle, but I had to look up what "d-girl" mean to get why she got so pissed at Christopher.

When that ep aired, I had to Google Marshall McLuhan. I don't think I had ever heard of him, but it was obviously a famous name.

(I still don't know who he is, and I'm not gonna google it again.)

Marshall McLuhan may be the worst and dumbest joke in the entire Sopranos. Also, he linked who McLuhan is up-thread.

Roughtly 1/1000 nurses would know who the **** Marshall McLuhan is and exactly zero out of all of them would make that incredulous comment.
