New Netflix show that is getting some buzz.

I just finished the first episode and it was great.

A+ music, great characters and acting, interesting plot, and stuff seems to move forward at a decent pace. It captures the 80s mystery/adventure/horror vibe perfectly.

My initial reaction to all the trailers etc has also been "meh" even though to me it sort of looked like a Spielbergo movie as series, which is the only thing I found enticing.

So I quickly checked a few things...

So I watched the first two episodes last night and I can safely say I'm glad I did. Watching this to the end for sure. All the acting has been spot on and pretty much everything has been solid, a few iffy lines/arcs here and there but overall I'm very excited to see the rest.

This was rad! Mashup of Steven Spielberg, Stephen King, and John Carpenter. Will definitely make it on my top 10 list this year.

I really enjoyed it. The young kids acted well and it made me slightly nostalgic for the 80s. Well done imo.

Finished this last night. Thought the child actors were very, very good. Enjoyed the series overall, but didn't care much for the last episode. Not sure what the rules are on spoilers for a show that came out a few days ago, so I'll just leave it at that for now.

A couple of my friends who are watching it really hate Winona Ryder's acting. I didn't think it was noticeably bad, but could be just me.

I thought ryder was pretty good. All around fantastic acting if you ask me. Just a really fun show.

Ryder's voice in this show reminds me of Joan Cusack in School of Rock.

Love it through 5 eps. Girl playing 11 killing it, with very few lines. Fun to watch.

except EL this was really boring

At first this seemed like a generic monster 'movie', and while it still is to a certain extent, and not majorly groundbreaking, it's just really good. Early 80s vibe, lovely autumn/brown aesthetic, beautifully shot, fantastic acting and great soundtrack.

The actress playing the weirdo is really something else. Millie Bobbie Brown. She reminds me of young Natalie Portman and has the same career trajectory or better in her future. Astoundingly talented and has the facial symmetry to end up being a stunning beauty.

The ending was thouroughly disappointing

Shows great. I'm 4 eps in and had a hard time turning it off was up till 4 am binging.

Also don't walk your dog alone at 2am after watching this.
