I posted about this in the general thread and people seem to find it as entertaining as I do. The basic premise is (yes, you guessed it) a group of 20 somethings are put on an island with a chance at a million dollars.

Contestants earn money by making timed journeys to 10 new check points where they set up base. Each trip is worth 100K. If the contestants don't make it in time, they don't get the money. At each check point, they are able to buy items at higher markup than is charged for live MTTs. $7,500 for a pizza, $2,00 0 for a bag of carrots, etc. Yes, people their burn money and buy stuff. Any money left at the end is split between remaining contestants.

I won't spoil it too much, but two alliances start pretty quickly and its a very enjoyable show imo. Some of the people on this show are...interesting. There's probably only two episodes left in this season but definitely worth checking out.

im loving this show. these people are amazing. some of the choices they make, and their perspectives are just unbelievable.

at first i thought cody was such a ****ing *******, and i guess he is. but he was pretty cool when the group was ****ing him over.

and i find myself kinda rooting for cody just because the other group is so ****ed up, and they delude themselves into thinking they are nice.

and it tilts the **** out of me how they buy a feast and don't ration. wtf?!?!?! they are so ****ing stupid. and that ****ing whining pos keeps whining about peanut butter.

and they spent 1k on a ****ing deck of cards?!?!?!?

episode 8

the show is amazing. i can't fathom how a person could play this game better than cody. he's a savage with the whole surviving aspect of it and has played a perfect social game from the very beginning which is remarkable since this is the first time the game has been played. i'm not sure how anyone could watch the show and not root for cody and makani.

I can't sum up how I feel better than this, like everything you say is spot on. I want to root against Cody, and I can't see myself liking him outside of this game, but damn, he's played a great game imo. Especially when up against it.

Also, that was my thoughts on the spoiler, too. I hope you're right!!

it was hilarious when the cocktail waitress was hating on her and said "i hate hippies"

I'd be surprised if theyre carrying around and destroying actual cash on the island.

Gina is obv on the wrong side and a **** when it comes to macody. But she's actually a decent character.

I thought Alonzo and Eilish were the biggest pieces of crap out there. Alex is coming quite close to their level, continuously calling the other side "bullies".

Watched the first ep. Other than being a POS my strategy would be similar to Cody. Get nothing, push out the weak. Do little work, save energy.

If I went on the temptation, I easily take the 15k food. Stay as strong as you can individually. As for lying about it to rest of tribe, I think only benefit is so others on temptation may be less likely to take reward. I don't think lying so they don't get mad at you is worthwhile. Who really cares if people are mad at you, and for something like that, its not really a valid reason to be mad.

Looking forward to an expected Cody downfall and terrible decisions in general by all.

And I agree with what he said. The machete was worth it and would've been a good purchase, but by not getting it, it makes others more weak more quickly.

the thought process is really mind blowing

a lot of it is just about self delusion, as in people ****ing over others really badly and deceiving themselves into thinking they are justified or fair. but yeah, the strategy is just wtf

if you think you're not gonna make it, then you you have no incentive at all to save money, just spend spend spend.

it's also huge the timing of the temptations. like the cocktail waitress was maybe about to go home, but she got the temptation and was able to stick it out.

and there are some points in the show later where it's pretty crucial

I started binge watching this yesterday after the recommendation in one of the LC threads. It's fantastic. I'm up to episode 4 so far.

Makani and Cody are so awesome. The campers are how I picture the Politard forum members irl. Watching them get rained on when Makani "borrowed" the tent was ****ing amazing.

how easily most ppl (outside of appendix girl) actually tilted me, they're getting paid ~100k to ****ing camp and quitting bc it rains and they need to make a 2mile hike very 4 days while being hungry..

also so spot on with the group of alonzo/alex/girls ect.. being utter ***** and playing victim now that roles are reversed, hope they both flare out and cody/makani take it all home.

Alex is delusional, every single hike cody has taken the most weight but the most recent episode alex attributes cody struggling more than usual on the hike to cody "finally carrying his share of the load"

when gina was explaining why her family is disappointed in her ect.. all i could do was agree with her family, she's the absolute worst

Steal the machete during their 15k retreat or anytime and destroy their tent without physically hurting anyone.

I'm sure it's scripted anyway but it's so entertaining.

I don't think you can steal anything while they are on retreat. I don't think ****ting in the river is that big of a deal, I mean if they're too dumb to drink downstream that's on them.

I also didn't hear about them saying the money is fake...

I don't think Alex lasts the next episode..which is funny considering they have like 10 days left

i doubt any of you have spent an entire night in the rain with no shelter or good clothing, let alone weeks. that has gotta be really brutal. im not at all surprised people quit from being in a rain storm night after night.

3 eps in. Trying not to read thread. Show kinda sucks but can't stop watching. Would be interesting to see this show with non children on it. Like a typical cast of Survivor players.

Would also be interesting to see some of these people on Survivor. Namely, Cody.

the 21 year old makani, who dropped out of school at 16 is probably the smartest of the bunch

some of them can't even read some of the stuff on the show. ignorance is nothing to be ashamed of imo, but it just shows how young they are, and how little life experience they have, how uneducated they are.
