Wasn't sure how I would feel back to war with Klingon's but that was a really damn good episode. It even felt very Star Trek. Somehow I was even a bit surprised by the ending. Season ends next episode but that ending leas to some more story lines for season 2 especially considering the actress is someone you wouldn't think would be a throw away character. That said there is no guarantee they don't kill her off
Spoiler:
again

I was really surprised the season is ending so soon. Only 6 episodes in the 2nd half of the season? Boo.

I was hoping for an 18+ episode season.

Question about the last episode:

Spoiler:
Doesn't the crew already know that isn't the real captain? Odd that the Admiral went through the trouble of announcing to the crew something they already know to be false.

Bummed that this is almost done for the year.

Spoiler:
When the Emperor beamed on board, Saru made a point of telling the transporter guy that the presence of this individual was classified and revealing it would be considered treason. They then beamed her straight to quarters. Further, the crew has just re-appeared in what seems to be a vastly different universe from the one they left, and in the future.
There's no reason the crew as a whole should know it's not the real captain.

Except that if the crew can't put two and two together quite quickly, they're pretty dumb.

A bit of a weak ending to a great season. Very trek ending

Best actors of the season?

I'm gonna go with Tilly and then Lorca. Suru too I suppose. Worst is Ash? I found any dramatic scene between him and Michael was an autoskip for me.

Worst was clearly Burnham. Way too much "sassy strong black woman" in the character for an orphan raised by vulcans.

Thought she played someone who witnessed her family being slaughtered at a young age, then raised in a vulcan society very well. Many words I'd use to describe her character, sassy would not be one of them.

Never check them for fear of spoilers, but have the Reddit detectives got any theories on the blue dot that settled on Tilly's shirt yet? I'm predicting it's a little bit o' Lorca.

Do you have a screen grab of it or at least time and episode?

Episode 13, with like 3 minutes left the engineering section is on screen - with the floating blue spores in the air and all the engineers looking up with smiles. Then, one detaches from the cloud and starts to fall towards her shoulder, turning from blue to bright green. Hits her shirt then fades out.

Probably nothing, but I was reminded about it the next week when they showed the 'previously on' clips...
Spoiler:
The motes of light that Lorca dissolves into look alot like what was in Engineering.

ash was so ****ing terrible he almost single handedly ruined the whole series jfc

burnham was good. lorca was good.

my favorite was the nerdy engineer chick. love her. i loved in the last episode when she calls burnam on the communicator and she's like "ok first of all i'm totally high, but you have to listen to me. the drone is not a drone. it's a bomb"

the japanese woman captain is terrible. wtf, why do they cast these terrible actors?

I enjoyed the first few episodes of Discovery (mostly before Lorca became a moustache twirling villain or Ash... talked) but now I'm definitely part of that silent majority that prefers Orville.

Orville is more Star Trek'y than Star Trek these days. Love all of the episodes with gay Worf. Found myself tearing up at the gender reassignment episode and even the holodeck episode.

The sad thing is McFarland wanted to do an actual Star Trek show and couldn't make it happen.
