This episode was fantastic.

Pope is great in this imo, and yes, I watched Lost.

lotta things about this episode and the past few have really annoyed me but w/e I'll ignore those for now.

Have 2 questions though:
Not very familiar with coke, what is the approximate value of 30 kilos when pushed through the streets in smaller quantities? With narcotics far and away being Pope's most lucrative enterprise despite all the pieces that he has to kick back to numerous individuals, I'm just trying to get a read on exactly how much money that amount of blow can bring in. Further, not really being familiar with coke and always viewing Reno as this dump of a town (at least in comparison to Vegas), would it at all be difficult to push 30 kilos in a day in cities outside of NY, LA, Miami, etc?

Why did Jax and Pope have to get an 'ok' from the Mayans and the Chinese before upping their order to 60?

I didn't read any of the big soa thread, and that's the first shield reference I remember seeing in this thread. I probably won't even remember reading that in a day or two tbh.

Episode was good imo. My initial thought is the sheriff gives Tig a beat down after seeing the scratches but before he gets DNA results back.

Also, I think is Tara going to take things into her own hands with Otto but not in the way he's hoping.

Definitely really interested to see how Tara handles Otto. I kept thinking he was going to stab her in the eye with a pen...

Yeah I assumed there was some stuff in that thread. I came across a few spoilers in a few other threads but it was before I started watching (starting s2 tonight) so it meant nothing to me then.

The pope story line is by far one the best in the series simply because this isn't like the cartel or IRA. Jax knows it Pope who ultimately killed opie and yet Pope has taken him some what under his wing... 2% kick back and all. he is suppose to hate the guy (we are too) but Do you? I don't

If this plays out like every other SoA season Pope will die at the end , yanno the "bad guy" to the club always gets it in the end ( the Fed , the real IRA kidnapping , Zobelle being run out of town) But , this is just my guess, Pope not only won't be killed but become more engrained into the club some how...not sure about this last part but hes deff not just dying off

I think the Pope 2% kickback was a corruption test - if Jax takes it, Pope knows he'll value himself above the club down the road. Which is how Clay and Jax got them into this whole pickle to being with.

Can't really hate him. His motivations are justified. They killed his daughter.

A google search shows that a kilo is generally worth around 200k at the street level in 2001 (assuming I'm reading it correctly) so that's 6 million for Pope. I have no idea how much he would profit - if you cut it in half to 3 million at 2% that's a 60k kickback to Jax. I have no idea about the ease of moving it.

So Kurt Sutter has again written himself into Clay having to get killed, with him sabotaging the club/etc. How is he going to bail himself out of this one?

Jax gives a speech about how Clay is necessary, but only for the time being, blah blah blah.

A Kilo is not worth anything close to 200k. I doubt Pope makes more than 10-20k profit per kilo. More if they cut it a ton, but nowhere close to 200k

Not sure about the U.S but a kilo of coke in Australia would be worth 300 - 350k on the street and i'd assume it goes a lot further after they cut it with whatever other **** they put in it. Can't imagine it would be much less over there. That's before dealer profits and stuff tho.

My mind is blown if it costs that much, i mean a kilo is 1000 grams so even if cut it in half and make 2000 grams, 300k would make it worth 150 a gram. You can get a gram for 60 bucks and that isn't buying in bulk. No clue where you get the 300k number, that is just crazy.

The higher price of cocaine is $100 a gram..the more you buy the better the deal obv and I highly doubt much of that is being sold by the gram. You would make under $100,000 for a kilo and my guess would be somewhere between $60,000- $80,000 ...To make $300,000 you would have to sell a gram for $300 which is just never ever happening.

Coke cost $300 - $350 a gram here.

I always thought coke on the street would be roughly 10% pure.
So if they move a kilo of pure (let's say 90% to be on the safe side) cocaine, they actually move 9kg of street cocaine.
