When I try to explain this show to people that have never seen an episode, I try to hit the main points, both good and bad.
Good:
It's like Sopranos, it's a crime family drama, with a large portion dealing with family issues.
It's like a summer action movie, lots of guns and bikes and girls and fun.
It is well written, in a way that draws you in, and you want to keep watching. Not great writing like The Wire, but more like Lost, where you are done with an episode and say "no ****ing way that just happened"
The Bad: (and there is a lot of bad here)
It's completely unbelievable on almost every level. From season 1 to now, how many members have been murdered or killed? Like 5-6? In four years. Also, my girl and I have a running joke, when the Sons get into a gun fight in a public place, she says "Almost made it this whole episode with no gun fight"
These guys would all be in jail for 20+ years by now.
that said, it's a show, so I just roll with it, it's not trying to be The Wire, but it's trying to be like WWE on bikes. Show reminds me a lot of Oz, but with less gay sex and more bikes. I personally think SoA is better than Oz, but I think SoA is more on par with Oz that any of the elite shows.
All that said, I will watch every episode of this show, gladly.
