The actor who played Half Sack is dead. Very bizarre story.

The only thing that doesn't really fit about Opie's death is that it's hard to imagine a single father who dropped the kids off with a porn star taking that bullet.

That said, he'd been pretty miserable for a long time. His wife, then father. His complete loss of faith in everyone around him. Having nowhere to go and being miserable where you are, etc. His closest friends killed most of his family.

I find my self really looking forward to next week. I keep thinking back to how jax's wife was going to be volunteering at the jail. What reason would that be for storyline wise if the guys are leaving. Opies alive!!

They wrote it that way so she thought she could see the guys, then when they get out they will use her to find out who the guard was that Jax said he was going to kill in the next couple of eps. Tara helping Jax murder the guard will be the final step in her turning into Gemma.

It's an impressive level of crazy when people aren't surprised to find out that you beat an elderly woman to death, attacked 2 other guys, and then climbed and fell off of a rooftop to your death.

I enjoy this show a lot, though I feel like it doesnt measure up to the elite TV shows. Its inconsistent, though it keeps you hooked with great moments/episodes from time to time.

I thought Opie's death constituted as a great moment. For me it was completely unexpected. Even when he started fighting, I thought we would see him go into super Opie mode and survive as this show has gone out of its way to let the characters dodge death at every turn, however improbable. That second pipe shot to the back of the head actually gave me chills. Great episode and Im looking forward to the rest of the season.

When I try to explain this show to people that have never seen an episode, I try to hit the main points, both good and bad.

Good:

It's like Sopranos, it's a crime family drama, with a large portion dealing with family issues.

It's like a summer action movie, lots of guns and bikes and girls and fun.

It is well written, in a way that draws you in, and you want to keep watching. Not great writing like The Wire, but more like Lost, where you are done with an episode and say "no ****ing way that just happened"

The Bad: (and there is a lot of bad here)

It's completely unbelievable on almost every level. From season 1 to now, how many members have been murdered or killed? Like 5-6? In four years. Also, my girl and I have a running joke, when the Sons get into a gun fight in a public place, she says "Almost made it this whole episode with no gun fight"

These guys would all be in jail for 20+ years by now.

that said, it's a show, so I just roll with it, it's not trying to be The Wire, but it's trying to be like WWE on bikes. Show reminds me a lot of Oz, but with less gay sex and more bikes. I personally think SoA is better than Oz, but I think SoA is more on par with Oz that any of the elite shows.

All that said, I will watch every episode of this show, gladly.

I tell people that it's the love child of an action movie and a soap opera. Also, that it's not the greatest show, but is definitely worth a watch.

Like you running joke hip, I play a little game.. when a character has a pause after seeing something bad happen or getting bad news.. I try to guess whether the characters next line will be "god damn it" or "jesus christ".

It's a good show, just not a Fall Premiere worthy show.

Yea but is "The House Wives of North Dakota" any more Premiere worthy? Network/Cable based its high enough up there, especially for FX.
I think some of the other junk/crap thats on now a days is far worse then this even on the big networks.

I call this my "garbage" show , and really is it that bad?

Its fun which is perfect filler between football game days

While it's not great art, it is certainly a great show. It's Grey's Anatomy for men.

Not a fan of them killing off Opie yet. I think it was actually piss poor writing. While the actual scene was good, the storyline isnt and felt rushed

Are people failing to remember the conversation Jax and Opie the last episode while in the cell together?

In the first season, Donna was trying to get Opie out of SAMCRO, but Opie was a lifer to the club and would never be able to part with them. He even said something along those lines to her as well.

Opie went to jail to protect Jax. And than while inside, Opie had questions regarding why Jax didnt let him kill Clay, even after the fact that Jax knew about Clay being behind Donna and Pimey's deaths. Jax responded by telling Opie he needs Clay alive to keep negotiations with the Real IRA. SAMCRO tried to kill Opie for something that he didnt do. While theyre keeping Clay alive after the fact that he kills his own "brothers" without legitimacy and the club not knowing.

Im sure Opie felt betrayed by the club and his best friend, for not being completely honest with about his family and Clay.

Opie had nothing left. His family was taken away by the people that he thought were his brothers. Do you really think he would want to sit in the chapel with them, especially Clay?

Opie couldnt leave SAMCRO but he couldnt be part of them neither, He lost trust in all his "brothers" and didnt know who they were anymore.

SAMCRO was the only family Opie had left and that "family" murdered his Wife and Pimey, his real family.

Did you want Opie just to walk from the club? Him getting killed by a SAMCRO enemy is far better writing than him just leaving the club.

That said, he still ended up protecting Jax in the end.

This show is bloody intense IMO

Does anyone else notice that its always Tig messing things up for the club?

Killing Donna, semen in the burnt Mexican ladies who built guns for them, and running down Popes`daughter.
