Sick ratings for Betty White:

not even reading a single post, just strongly disagreeing with the thread title.......

Betty White rules.

Just got in and catching up... Only about 50 minutes in and kind of lukewarm about it but the Petty tune was pretty damn good. I've had a few so maybe my judgment is also impaired but that was pretty damn solid.

Edit: meh... Snooki and Stephane on the news. I'll finidh this hung over on the couch tomorrow.

Stefan was amazing. I laughed so hard my neck hurt.

Had some good moments but they really got the order wrong and should have ended on Betty.

Also they SO need to have Alec and Tina back at some point to both be in the "over friendly daughter" sketch at the same time.

Just caught the last episode with Baldwin OnDemand and it was pretty damn good in spots. Stefan is hysterical. And that duo with Armison and that chick almost made me piss myself.

That opening segment was the biggest 5 minutes of unfunny fail I've ever seen.

I can think of 2 good things about this episode...

The cast/writers of SNL had a whole summer and all they could do was come up with a couple decent joke premises and create the most obvious pedestrian sketches around them and take random pieces of ephemera and reference them in Family Guyesque way.

Jay Pharoah as Will Smith was really good and I am always a sucker for Bronx Beat the rest of the episode I fast forwarded through pretty quickly

I thought the opener was pretty funny tbh, however the last 2 skits were awful, but thats pretty standard for SNL anyway.

didn't like the will smith guy. he reminds me of Finesse Mitchell from a few years back who was an SNL fail. i hate how snl always gives new ppl a short weekend update spot. it usually ******ed.

katy perry is hot, but i never knew her boobs were that good.

I thought the Will Smith bit was excruciatingly bad. His Tucker bit was alright. Overall the newbies seem very unimpressive and the whole ep was carried by people not even on the show any more and it was just a reminder they can do so much better.

I had a few laughs and Katy Perry's boobs were good but i felt like Amy was heavily underused and they could have done better (comon, Kim Jong Il is retiring and she did a 5 second impression in the Expendables sketch?) and there were too many filler sketches like the producer guy which should be reserved for bad hosts. Also the opener was really weak considering what material they had to work with and the RNC anti GZ Mosque sketch felt weak too where the payoff just wasnt as punchy as it could have been.

Will Smith bit was awesome and Jay Pharoah in general is an awesome impersonator. He's definitely the thing to get most excited about on SNL. Bronx Beat was awesome and Katy's boobs were unreal.

I thought it was only OK but went in with high expectations - have you seen Jay Pharoah's standup? There are links all over - it's pretty solid - his Denzel and his Obama are *outstanding* impersonations, imo.

Agree with this except I can't name a "newbie" outside of Jay Pharoah - who in particular are you referring to?

The four new cast members of the show. Which i did include Pharoah as i had never heard of him before but i would still include him as a new addition to the cast.

If Jay has some great impressions (esp Obama) he seems like a great addition. Dunno what it was but the Will Smith was just awkward and seemed more like someone doing and impression of someone doing and impression of him to me.

Oh and i think they are really gonna miss Jenny Slate. She had a lot of characters that were regulars on the show and i really liked her Hoda Kotb and the Tina Tina doorbell stuff i really liked. I can only assume she didnt renew her contract because surely they didnt cut her for not being good enough? Surely its not cos she said **** that one time?

Oh and Will Forte, almost forgot he left despite being such a HUGE part of the show.
