yeah wasnt very good. weekend update was weak, but i did like when the "young girl" talked about how you couldnt even make movies like forrest gump today
but the only decent episode this year was chappelle. that aunt jemimah skit was awesome
I think Jost and Che are funny, but how have they ****ed up this season as head writers so badly? WU and the final 10 minutes are the only thing I can bear, and the WU guest stuff has been getting worse and worse. Che getting his standup money and Jost bangulating a major movie star probably should lead to a change.
Snl has never been funny, even in the “golden era” there’s only a handful of funny skits. The same with today, the same with when this thread was started 12 years ago.
I don't like or dislike Kim, I never watched any of her shows. I did end up watching a lot more of this episode than normal. Usually just the open then FF thru 95% of skits, then weekend update.
They are airing the Betty White(RIP) episode from 12 years ago tonight. I think it was among the highest viewing ever. Might be labeled wrong, also Eddie Murphy episode tonight I think.
Might have to give this new season a chance. I saw one of the new cast members, Michael Longfellow, do a 10 minute spot at a show called Don’t Tell Comedy. They do pop up shows where no one knows the lineup till they get there. I’d never heard of the guy but he was my favorite that night. His material was good but you could tell that he had a Mulaney-like comedy mind with very laid back delivery.
watched SNL for the first time in forever cuz Aubrey Plaza was hosting:
The good:
- The opening host skit with Aubrey was entertaining enough, as was her appearance on the news segment with Amy Poehler
- Sharon Stone's bizarre cameo during the 2nd music act. OK she looks every bit of 64 but wow does she still have a great body...
The bad:
- Everything else. Even Aubrey couldn't save the (few) lame sketches she was in. SNL would have been better off letting her talk dirty to the camera all night.
