Was much better than previous 2 or 3 episodes

Name one funny sketch or moment. The open was probably the best, but it was still awful.

House hunters was funny

Outside the bathroom made me chuckle as did incest twins

I didn't say it was great but i didn't laugh at all at other recent episodes

There wasn't even a chuckle in any of the skits. I'm pretty much resigned to fast-forwarding to Weekend Update and skipping the rest.

I stopped after WU because every sketch prior to it was awful, I guess I didn't miss anything.

I usually like carell

Only sketch that made me even smile was the NASA one, It was completely predictable, but well-executed.

No laughs this week, but I enjoyed Miley Cyrus's jacket.

Best episode of the season imo. Not saying much, but I actually laughed a few times tonight. Best Christmas Ever was good and I found the lounge singers sketch funny for some reason. The Weezer sketch was kinda funny too and one of the few times I haven’t found Leslie Jones cringeworthy.

I thought by this season's standards this was a enjoyable episode. They should've put Kate on Rudy or Sessions rather than Conway in the opener.
Daddy Show was good, family X-Mas was a cool concept, back of the tree was ok.
I personally like the quick-cameo sketches so the Oscar host search was in my ball park and I liked it.
I didn't like the Boxer-movie chick, no laughs just cringe. Weezer-sketch was great, bar-sketch had some nice dark stuff in there which I like, May-sketch was ok.

Melissa Villaseñor’s Sarah Silverman was one of the best impressions I’ve seen.

I really can't watch the show for any longer than a few minutes without cringing.

Show has gone way downhill imo.

Which season's episode do you remember as being funny beginning to end? Or anywhere close to that standard?

Jesus Greta Van Fleet is the worst musical act I've seen on SNL. And yes I'm including that Ashlee Simpson lip sync flub.

I thought the past episode w Halsey as host and musical guest was the best one in a while top to bottom (prob not saying much tho). She was a sutprisingly polished host and they had some entertaining sketches and WU. Easy on the eyes too.

Liked the performance art of doing the sketch in the second song. Something different and cool on the SNL musical stage for a change. I'm not into the tattoos and hair, yet still find Halsey sexy, and when I hear her songs they don't necessarily connect with me but I enjoy them. She has a good voice.

I don't follow current music, but she's quite attractive, despite the tattoos. Good host/actress, too.

I just fast forwarded through 90 minutes. It is so bad. Why are they doing 3 different character bits during weekend update?

I've stuck through this show through so many bad casts, usually to be rewarded at some point with a few really good seasons, that I didn't think there'd come a point that I'd give up on the show. But I haven't bothered tuning in for the cold open since the season premiere this year, and if I turn it on at all it's usually to fall asleep to within 15 minutes because it sucks. Easily the least I've ever watched a season since I started watching it at 13 or so.

I really think Lorne has to pass the reins on to somebody else who can hopefully reinvent the show in some way. Of course it's very possible that once he's gone, NBC is gonna decide that from a cost/ratings standpoint it makes more sense just to move up 1st Look with Johnny Bananas or whatever and kill the show entirely.

Still love it! Looking forward in 15 years to dingbats referring to these episodes as part of the good old days and talking about how horrible it is "now." And on and on. For free sketch comedy it can't be beat.

Can someone explain to me John Mulaney's appeal?

1st half of yesterday's episode was actually pretty good. Best I remember in a long time. Of course Mulaney and Hader carried it, which you're not going to get every week.
