I've found Weekend Update to be pretty awesome the past few weeks. Especially the Leno/Conan 2 wives analogy/rant.

One of the best individual skits of the last decade. Lindsey Lohan was the host. I go back and watch that skit once in a great while.

For real, Armisen is SNL's most talented performer in a looooong time.

I like Myers as the Update host. Fallon/Fey were almost unbearable; Fey/Poehler combo was better; Poehler/Myers was a huge improvement - I liked this combo a lot. Myers on his own has been much better than I thought he would be. I actually like him quite a bit.

Agree about Armisen.

The Debbie Downer concept was bad though. With the exception of the Lohan episode they were all terrible. The only reason the Lohan one was so memorable had nothing to do with it being a good sketch - it's so memorable because everyone lost their **** and they barely made it to the finish line. Probably the biggest cluster**** I've ever seen on the show.

But it was awesome though...

Actually what I remember most from that episode was Lohan playing Hermione from the Harry Potter books. She was still in her super hot phase and the skit was about how the Hogwarts kids had matured over the summer break - Lohan chesticles were nearly busting out of her school uniform.

Did Tina Fey somehow go from being terrible to being merely bad when paired with Poehler? Or was Poehler just better than Fallon?

I have a little place in my heart that is reserved for my hatred of Jimmy Fallon.

So Fey probably stayed the same but looked better thanks to the Poehler upgrade. SNL, imo, showed huge improvement the second year after they brought in Samberg, Sudeikis and Hader. Prior to that Fey was head writer and Poehler and Fallon were the big names. The show became very effeminate. If you recall there were WAYYYY too many fake commercials about feminine hygiene aids, medications that control menstrual cycles and
Roombas that clean both carpets.

I actually really like Fallon, outside of his SNL role. When he was getting Conan's show, they asked him what his most memorable skit was throughout all of SNL. Even he said that it was laughing through Walken and Ferrell's "Cowbell" sketch.

You guys probably know they're making a MacGruber movie. I saw an early screening of it today in the Village and it was surprisingly very funny. I hope all the scenes make it into the movie because there were some outrageous ones. Definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys the MacGruber skits.

What's up with her trying to be like this legit singer. It's not gonna work. You were a popular singer ten years ago because you were hot, danced well, and had a fantastic ass. Nobody cares about you as a singer.

SNL is on the right track but the J-Lo episode took a step back imo. Bad skits and sucky singing doesn't make for a good show.

i think she got hotter. she looked really good last night.
i agree though, i didnt know she still sang, or that ppl cared about her singing.
she should def pursuit her acting career over singing.

i only watched first 70% of last night's show, it was okey. moynihan bit on weekand update was extremely idiotic.

I am really excited for this one. I've always had Zach at the top of my list of people I'd love to see host. This year he just happens to have blown up enough to have the chance.

I have tempered my expectations for the Galafanakis episode although there are very few people I would have chosen to host over him. I'm just bitter about how they choked on the Barkley episode and can only imagine them doing the same this week.

tbh, i have only seen the hangover. so IDK if I can be counted as a "fan", but I like him a lot and am totally looking forward (and expecting very little ).

I've been a fan for years. I'm glad he's finally getting known, but I do miss being able to introduce him to people with his older stand-up and having them stare at the act like "WTF?!" Then when they finally get what he's doing, they love it.
