Jason Sudekis is great. Bill Hader is very hot or cold depending on what you have him doing. Samberg/Armisten are all pretty decent overall for the show. Moynihan does a few bits I like a lot but most are meh. Killam and Brittain seem like they have solid potential.

I'm still not 100% about Pedrad, but the rest can go. Still needs better sketches in any case but that's nothing new for SNL.

I thought I read somewhere that KW said she wasn't gonna do anymore of those awful repeated characters and focus on newer stuff. I was surprised to see them revive the target lady sketch.

Awful characters aside, she is the rock of SNL and can't go anywhere until we see a woman who is ready to step up and take on that load---and we're nowhere near that.

Agree. But they'd better turn up the heat scouting around for female talent because she's almost certainly going to leave the show for movies or TV full-time before too long.

As long as snl is getting sports figures to host, why not get Blake Griffin? those kia commercials are hilarious.

as a Giant fan, I fear we are very close to an Eli Manning episode. I'm not sure he'd take the gig though, b/c Peyton killed it on his episode

It's pretty tough to take a week off during the NBA season, I don't think the Clippers give vacation days, and if he calls in sick and then shows up on SNL, I think they'll figure it out. Seriously though, maybe as a fill in after they get knocked out of the playoffs, but you can't schedule him because he could be playing through June.

Rather just bring Peyton back. I was thinking maybe Rodgers with the whole discount double-check popularity, IF he won again, but nah.

If Eli manages to win another ring he's got a shot, but Peyton has to cameo. Cause Peyton is just better at everything.

FYI John Mulaney has a standup special airing on comedy central on Saturday. He was on Conan last night and was very funny.

Yikes! That may have been the weakest SNL ever, definitely a bottom 10 of all time. The Bat Mitzvah dance was semi-humorous but the rest was pretty much unwatchable.

I didn't make it very far. Started watching it on my DVR this morning and the first few sketches were awful. When I realized they were going back to the Secret Word well for the 20th time I shut it down.

... and where the hell did Chace Crawford come from? About as generic and bland an actor you're going to find.

Once I saw that the lineup was Channing Tatum/Bon Iver I knew it'd be awful. Yet I watched anyways then hated myself afterwards, standard SNL.

as much as i do not like jimmy fallon, his hosting of the xmas episode this past december was frickin hilarious, the buble xmas album spoof with him playing a bunch of music celebs was literally spot on. i suggest checking it out if you haven't yet.

Anybody watching tonite? The repeating Clint Eastwood commercials are funny, the French TV skit was WTFITS.

Sudeikis did a pretty amazing job improving when that dog totally botched the cold open by barking non-stop. It was probably one of the funnier moments this season.

I find Nasim Pedrad so hot in those skits I don't care what they do.

Best ep of the season imo.

I like the French dancing skit, just because it's weird and there's always some fun layers of absurdity. The quirky talk show sketch killed. Nicolas Cage cameo on Weekend Update was awesome and I even liked some of the more filler-type sketches like the old timey newsroom and the crabs thing.

the episode was pretty good, and despite my hate for the girl, she held her own (and looked cute) but man, one of the biggest swan dives I've ever seen.

it was strong, and then they did the crab sketch, the 1950s newspaper sketch, and the last sketch with the stupid faces/gay marriage. they just lost all momentum. Oh and that musical guest was garbage. Chick was cuter on youtube too somehow

Only plusses this week were the Clint Eastwood commercials and In the Cage. The rest (as usual) was totally forgetable.

Yeah, 1st half was good, but 2nd half fell off a cliff. WTF was that crab sketch? I was kinda hoping they'd insert the barking dog into the last few.

I liked the crab sketch... maybe I'm just weird. I was just amused at how excited all those dudes were for something like crab, and the inevitability of the punchline actually made it funnier to me.
