I actually thought E2 was a sizeable step down. The Tesla stuff was basically like network TV level comedy, and the new Jian Yang continues to feel like trying to put a round peg into a square hole.

The job perks stuff was funny in a borrowed from real life kind of way, and Gavin and Jared are always great, but I think this show is on the verge of circling the drain even more than last season if this is what we'll get on a week-to-week basis.

Oh no they're getting sued for $10M. I wonder how they'll get out of that little predicament.

Agreed. ‘Story’ feels forced to the point of being really annoying. Couple good laughs thanks to Jared and the Hooli setting, but that was it for me. Still no bighead.

really really good episode. no big moments and probably not something you’ll ever remember when the show’s run is over, but consistently funny throughout without going stupid and over the top. it felt like a s1-s2 ep.

Agreed. Everything in that episode worked. I do think we will always remember the Napalm Death Bitcoin mining alert.

First episode I liked this season. I still think they're missing a hole where TJ Miller left, but everything in this episode worked.

probably, but that was the worst part of the episode by some distance

so I looked up who was credited as the writer on this one, and it’s ellie kemper’s younger sister. she has some office credits late in the run, and now four episodes of SV, including the one where erlich sets fire to his palapa and the SWOT analysis.

i also found out there are only eight episodes this season.

No big surprise that the writer of this episode came up with Blaine SWOT. She seems to write Dinesh and Gilfoyle better than most.

I really like the subtlety of how oblivious Dinesh was in not understanding he was the link because of how drunk he was. I feel a lesser show would have had him realizing it or second guessing whether he did something he shouldn't have this episode. Him being happily oblivious after spilling the beans was perfect.

Agreed with almost everyone so far, great episode.

After they mentioned Bighead without showing him, I have the feeling we won’t see him at all this season, if ever again.

Surprised you all liked this ep. The boring CEO dude/Richard stuff didn't work at all for me, the COO doing exactly what he did was pretty telegraphed, and the Bitcoin thing got old really quickly.

Best ep in a while. A little cringey that they're still begging TJ Milller to come back in actual aired dialogue, but understandable as he's definitely the most talented of any of the regs, whatever else you may think of him.

I got curious what a wider audience thinks and checked the ratings on IMDb.com. Season 5 episode 1 had an 8.2/10, Ep 2 a 7.8/10 and Ep 3 an 8.5/10.

That 7.8 is tied with episodes 1 and 4 of the first season for lowest ever. After that, they never dipped below 8.0 until now.

Pretty close to how I would rank the episodes so far.

We are in desperate need of some Big Head and Russ showing up with douchebag rock in tow though.

What a ****ing train wreck of a person. Is this what staring in a movie that destroys your chances of ever being a lead again does to a person?

Totally ridiculous thing to do. I don't even see how being intoxicated would make you think it was a good idea. Having said that the show is missing him.

You guys know he has a brain tumor right?

what I wrote on a degen forum:

"I woudn't be surprised if his brain tumor is actually ****ing with him. It's gotta be putting pressure on something and having a side effect here and there. I mean the guy ****ing drools water onto himself as a bit....

The guy is actually funny in small parts he has here and there and on the geek show. His netflix special was utter dog**** tho and the constant water gag was ****ing ******ed. He's probably on the last throws of a death roll by the tumor and soon he'll just die from the thing. "

He talks about it here a few years ago, looks like he actually had it removed as well as a piece of his brain so whatever I said doesn't matter but the dude has lost some of his brain. As in they cut it out.

The guy who played Dana is Dan Mintz, a super funny comic and writer. He is probably most known as the voice of Tina on Bob's Burgers. I don't even know if he still does stand up but definitely worth it to go see him if he is.
