We got us a premier date and a trailer for season 5. March 25th on HBO.

Last season was a step down in quality from the first three. Here's hoping for a rebound year.

Calling last season a step down is, IMO, a vast understatement. It turned into a hot mess where nearly every episode was a self contained storyline and the characters become way too one dimensional. Still, there were laughs to be had more often than not, and I'll continue to watch at least this season before considering pulling the plug.

I felt the same way while watching the season but in hindsight it probably was still better than the majority of other shows I watch. So I’ll keep watching if they can at least maintain that level.

I'll keep watching it but it's significantly declined. Curious to see how it fares without TJ Miller.

Trailer didn't look good. Will watch nonetheless, I rarely drop shows I'm committed to unless they are awful. Hopefully Gavin has a lot of screen time.

This for sure. It's much better on a rewatch.

Mods - how did a post from a year ago take this long to appear?

Great episode. Jimmy O Yang nails every scene he is in.

if ep2 is as bad as this, that might be it for me.

Jian Yang awesome as always, but without Ehrlich something’s missing.

Had hoped for more Bighead but he didn’t even appear unless I missed him.

Episode highlight was the FB troll during the intro.

I enjoyed the stallions a whole lot. Bighead likely to show up soon I'm sure.

Something felt off in the episode...had some chuckles but no laughs for me. Lots of bits felt forced. I liked the Barry premiere a lot better.

I agree that last season was a step down but I enjoyed last night's ep.

Hiring people you just screwed sounds not so great idea.

He fired both the CEOs, so he didn't really screw the employees. In fact, they were likely going under so he ended up keeping them in jobs.

The only reason the Pizza CEO was going under (at least quickly) was due to Richard strong arming him through threatening to bankrupt them through ordering too many Pizzas which at the time were huge loss centers.

Fair enough, but either way, none of the employees are losing their jobs, and as we saw in the scene with Gavin addressing the engineers he stole out from under Richard, engineers WANT to work on internet 2.0, so they are probably much happier doing that than ****pizza.com. I doubt any backlash comes from the CEO slapfight

You didn’t laugh when Jared told Richard that he looks like Richard Gere and might fall in love with a radiant sex worker?

Buying failing competitors for their tech/patents and/or human capital is not uncommon in the startup space.

Without Ehrlich, Richard gets too much screen time or is the focal point too often. I think that is the biggest problem.

Sure, but in this case Richard literally destroyed their previous company simply out of spite.

No, he destroyed them because he wanted/needed to harvest their human capital.

Those guys worked at the pizza company for like two days? And nobody gives a F anyway, there’s no loyalty. That’s what vested shares are for.

We are not talking about a brotherhood in a Pennsylvania coal mine or a Steve Jobs / Mark Zuckerberg cult leader. Those guys are there because they hope they’ll get absurdly rich by being one of the first 50 employees of a unicorn company. If that doesn’t work out, they’ll try their luck somewhere else.

I hate seeing Eurlich on screen a lot more than I hate seeing Richard, so for me it's a positive.

I liked the episode.

Jared trying to inturupt the sliceline guy saying "this conversation is boring" cracked me up. Jin Yang was great as always.
