They should make a prequel with Jared's backstory

What more is there to say? He was a toadie to Gavin who was disillusioned with his lack of genuineness. They say pretty much everything they need to say about his backstory in episode one. Any sprinkling of his backstory since has been to improve and flesh out his current character.

Creating a prequel would just be a further flanderization of his character, and I feel they've done a pretty good job avoiding that so far. His general underlying character is still present, but we get new pieces of who he is behind the scenes as each season rolls along that build off of what we know, like at the end of S4. The idea that he has a prepared resignation on the day of his hiring is hilarious, and something that fits his character completely, but we aren't beaten over the head with it.

How natural Jared's character is based upon the internal logic of the show is one of the most important parts of what makes it successful. I'm totally against anything that changes that.

episodes 6 and 7 were dreadful, but no longer in a let me rush to the thread and express my disappointment way. at this point it's sadly expected.

the finale was actually pretty good. they do this sort of what will happen, clock ticking episode well. it reminded me of the S2 finale with the lemon tree.

jared's character is already destroyed. most of the stuff we 'learn' about him is just the same tired joke with simple noun replacement.

Jared a boss for sure, but his own show? no, i loved how he was a superwomanizer with magical dick powers. It made zero sense but in this show you really dont have to make to much sense

Im on season 4 ep 5 and I like it more than gothrones. My only complaint is that every episode contains a huge plot twist.

I think Jared's back story as suggested ITT would include his terrible childhood mostly - which would be hilarious I'm sure but you'd need a kid to play these parts and not Zach Woods to begin with

The Timbuk2 messenger bag placement was annoying and whorish. I feel dirty for owning one.

The show has always had a ton of pretty grating product placement, but the Tesla line went way overboard by building subplots around actual features of the actual car and having 2 visual gags about how fast the car is. You're on HBO! Have some selfrespect.

I liked the COO episode and the last two ones of the season, with the finale clearly standing out. The other 5 episodes were more or less disappointing in my opinion.

My main complaint is that if you do only 8 episodes at 30 minutes each, better make sure that the majority of them work out. At the end of the day, the whole season had maybe 2 hours of good moments. To get that, they could have made a TV movie instead.

Im midway season 4. Still good, but i do feel Erlich is a bit played out. And not nearly as funny as in the first seasons. I dont think i'll miss him that much. I do hope they finally get some succes and permanent grow as a company. Always starting from next to nothing for 4 seasons is a bit tiresome now

Jared is such a good character in this show. The actor really played the same role in the office, i think from season 5?, but i hated him there.
