Episode 1 was terrible. Stories bad, dialogue bad. No redeeming qualities imo.

I feel like the gap between the best of Shameless and the worst of Shameless may be among the widest of all time, a ranking this season will likely put in cement. I intend to stick with this series until the bitter end (which should come at the end of this season, especially given Emmy Rossum's departure), but it looks like it's going to be a rough ride.

Such a good show first 3-4 seasons. But it really has ran its course. Fiona though.. so beautiful

also, not sure what yall were expecting but I thought the episode was pretty great and I loled a bunch. I mean, the show is meant to be idiotic and outlandish.

Pretty sure they’ll do at least one more season. After Rossum announced that she’s leaving after this season, John Wells said that he’s looking forward to continue the Gallagher family story and William H. Macy said multiple times over the summer that he expects at least 10 or 11 seasons.

So unless a couple of other main cast characters want to quit instead of getting a pay raise (the show saves $350k/episode without Rossum) I don’t see a reason for Showtime to end the show without the proper yearlong farewell that others like BBT receive.

FWIW, I really liked last season but didn’t enjoy episode 1. Just too much of everything and I am getting annoyed by Ian’s story arc.

In general I felt the show was always at its strongest when they integrated Frank and/or Fiona with a couple other family members into one storyline.

My girl said that they are having 1 last season after Fiona's departure and I was happy hearing she was gonna leave. I marathoned last season and basically was fast forwarding thru Fiona scenes cuz her character is horrible since becoming a slum lord/business owner. I'm excited for more of Ian's don't brutalize your rape buddy/gay jesus thing. I see big fun if he stays in prison. 7 toed chick just sucks since she had a baby and laughed when paraplegic boy left her, wtf at the diaper crap. Loved the Frank STD stuff and him getting nutted.

Weird. Fiona and Lip are the only two characters I actually give a **** about this season. Frank is boring. V and Kev feel like they're in a strange spinoff. Carl is alright. Deb done a lil growin up and startin to look a lil THICC but story line is still weak. Also WTF happened to her baby? Ian is the nut low.

I would like to care about Fiona and Lip, but Fiona's story line is boring as crap and Lip is doing an extended Very Special Episode of Shameless as he plods toward sainthood.

V and Kev's strange spinoff is probably my favorite part of the show right now. Definitely the only thing I've laughed at.

Ian used to be the nut low, but Deb has eclipsed him only because it's at least possible his story will improve, but we can see exactly where her's is going and it's very very bad.

Just watched the first episode and I agree that it was terrible. I did laugh when the cadet told Carl that they would never find the body. Too many great characters are gone and they haven't been able to replace them. It didn't dawn on me last season that they were writing Svetlana off the show.

lesbian deb is worse than straight deb, and I didn't think that was possible. she's produced one good line in the entirety of the show, and she wasn't even the one to say it "("debby, you statutory raped yourself!")

show needs more carl. show probably needs more liam at this point. I don't hate the Fiona plot but it isn't exactly shameless material.

The show is continuing the grand tradition of Showtime series running about 2 or 3 years past their prime, but Kevin is 1 of the funniest characters on TV the past few seasons and worth tuning in just for his scenes alone.

Episode 5 showed the first signs of life this season imo. Crazy Katey Sagal has promise. Departure of Xan makes it possible for Lip to have a storyline (sober coach obviously, which has potential). Ian leaving the show, thank God.

Normally I'd agree about Deb but her smacking her head on the table during the marathon lesbian talk was hilarious. I had to rewind it and watch it like 5 times is was so good.

I did not see the Ian twist coming!

I guessed it a few minutes before it happened. Solid way to go out. They ruined Ian’s character. Some of the best moments of the show were Ian and Lip just talking in the early seasons.

I watched the entire season so far and I barely remember what happened. Fiona being a **** up again, gay Jesus gets the cell from heaven and V and Kev are throwing dildos off of bridges and everyone else is sitting around being lame.

Disagree on Deb. While lesbian Deb isn't a good character it is far better than what we have had the last few seasons. I agree it needs more Carl and Liam. Fiona and Ford need to go. Frank and the new crazy girl has a lot of potential. Focus on Frank, Kev/V/Alibi, Lip, and mix in some Carl and Liam and the show would be better.

When does Jimmy/Steve enter the picture to ride off into the sunset with Fiona?

3 month break, WTF? Fiona is getting into pregnant Debs territory. Just get rid of her already.

Best scene of the season so far was with the priest, the nun, V and Kev in the priests office, hearing about his seedy past. PMSL!
