Same. I am kind of blown away by the frequency and level of the creativity on this show every episode. Which is interesting because I wasn't really feeling the pilot that much.

Was hoping snowball or a meseeks would be at the party. My only complaint is that the previous episode should have been the finale.

What was everybody's favorite ep? Mine was meseeks and destroy, but I could easily swap it with half the episodes.

Meeseeks and Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind (the one before the finale). Just incredible.

Favorite scene though is probably the DMX montage.

Multi-Ricks, Devil, and infinite TV channels were my top 3 but ask me tomorrow and it could be different. Meseeks also v good.

Not a bad episode, a few hilarious moments. Loved the frozen-time montage at the end.

the rickisode with multiple ricks is best of season. infinite channels is nut low television, and im unconvinced that you guys weren't high off your asses while watching it. that's gotta be the only way that droll is funny

Ok _some_ of the alternate dimension TV is kinda lame when rewatching, but some of it is pure gold (my favorite: Ants in my eyes Johnson). And the resolution of the Jerry-Beth story is one of the best & clever things I've ever seen on TV.

and the moon, it's crashing onto Earth..it's Two Brothers..it's just called (break) Two Brothers.

that's about the best thing i've seen in a cartoon. might even be the first ever character break in a cartoon

Agreed, the fact that half the TV dialogue voiceover was improv-ed is what makes it awesome. I don't think I'd like a whole series done that way, but it was a brilliant idea for an episode.

I recall it being funny at the very beginning and the Two Brothers was solid, but it was so styled in ad-lib that it was basically first-draft, back-of-the-napkin jokes. They get points for doing something highly experimental, but the bits felt like they were created in ten minutes and never revised. Baby Legs is good for a Family Guy-like ten second flashback, not a whole minute

The ad-lib worked best for the Two Brothers because it sounded like it was truly improvised. IIRC everything else just struck me as lazy. Even if it wasn't lazy, the comedy still came off as lazy. Like "hey let's mush together some of the most ridiculous things we can and see if people like it". But it worked, since so many people seem to love the episode. So WTF am I talking about

This is a great show.

Spoiler:
I hate that there's no good way to write the past tense of "improv" without it being confusing. "improvved" maybe? Seriously? Improvised is a pretty common word.

tx: Well yeah, of course. But the shortened word "improv" has a different connotation and a definition that's specific to comedy, so I'd prefer to use that. I've seen it put in the past tense many times, and generally it's jarring because at first glance it looks like the past tense of "improve" instead. I'm just being nitty, of course.

marathoned through season 1 over the weekend. didn't love it as much as others itt, but it was fun. improv stuff (ant eyes, fake doors, etc) didn't do anything for me at all, i've never been a fan of improv style comedy.

council of ricks episode was far and away the best imo. both the pilot and the finale were pretty weak overall, but i'll definitely be back for season 2.
