I guess they just want to get it past 100 for syndication? I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't mean they have to start cranking out garbage on a schedule. Let em keep making a dozen decent episodes every 2-3 years and take forever to get there.

Unfortunately the odds of Harmon seeing something shiny and wandering away well before hitting this milestone is pretty high.

According to harmon he is happy with the deal since now he can focus on working on the show full time instaed of having to negotiate every year(according to him they had to let their team go since they didnt have a deal yet which much sux every year). I doubt Syndication is the real goal since it would take them ages to produce that many episodes but at least they'd have that option if they last that long working on the project.

Sarah Silverman Show was great and Community was good. Rick and Morty is great, but I'd rather he not be overly committed to the show and be able to put in a lot of work to other shows too.

Finally got the wife to like it. took some time. But she's hooked now

I got this as being better than South Park now. Never thought that was possible.

How the **** did Emmy voters not celebrate the ricklantis mixup as one of the best TV show episodes ever.
How many 20 minutes episodes in the history of TV feel like you watched a great 2 hours movie.

People whose paychecks increase considerably when they have emmy nominations and wins under their belts?

I agree Ricklantis Mixup was better than Pickle Rick, but Emmy voters don't necessarily watch the shows they vote on.

Pickle Rick is a much better one-of than Ricklantis, which requires some background to fully appreciate.

Last year’s Emmy nominees included such masterpieces like S5 of House of Cards (for best drama). Member when that show was good?

Had post-hearing Kavanagh coverage on in the background yesterday and heard a pundit say the time for speeches is over, now is the time for action. Wasn't paying attention but that immediately registered.

I have complained too much already about how ****ty it is that 10-episode “seasons” have become the new norm in TV but my god I feel it way more with this show. Every time I see it coming on when the tube is on AS for a split second I get excited that this might be a new one butnahhh you’ve seen it five times same as the others

Meh, I think either way in the end you wind up with the same amount of quality material. If they were cranking out full 26-episode seasons on a strict schedule with a short hiatus, they'd be super hit and miss, spread the good material too thin, and/or they'd get burnt out on it, and someday everyone would lament about how only seasons 1-4 were good when Harmon and Roiland were still writing the show and hadn't handed it off to Joe Schmo or something.

The way it is now there's a chance for like 8-10 really tight, short seasons with really high quality. I mean, do you want this show to be the one you rewatch years from now and actually pay attention to because it's so dense with jokes and there are always bits you missed, or do you want it to be the thing you put on in the background and fall asleep to?

Here in the UK, 6 episode seasons are pretty much the norm for the top comedies, e.g. The Office, Peep Show, The Inbetweeners, The IT Crowd, Detectorists, Friday Night Dinner...

oh I agree if it's a question of quality v. quantity I'll take quality every time, I just want both dammit

has that always been standard there? when I was a kid, shows like Three's Company, MASH, Cosby Show, Seinfeld etc had 25 or so episodes in a season. Now you get 10 with every show and that's that.

I guess the upside is you get more shows, but then that circles back to gman's point bc they're often not very good

I've been listening to podcasts from the Bald Move guys for several years and really enjoy them. They have a released a new podcast called "Pickle Me This" that will be covering each episode. Make sure you get the one about Rick & Morty. There is a podcast with the same name that is all about pickles.
