Maher has made the point before, but yes, it absolutely matters who is in control. On certain issues both parties are the same, and the corrupting influence of corporations impacts both sides similarly, but on foreign policy the Republicans are banging the drums for war at every opportunity. People think Obama is a war hawk and a Republican lite, yet he pales in comparison to a guy like McCain or his predecessor Bush. I mean, do you think Gore invades Iraq after 9/11? Elections matter, man. Even if it's just having the lesser of two evils in power, it still matters.
