Sure. I change my mind all the time, if someone can lay out a good reason why I should.

(If you doubt that, you should know: I used to be a conservative! Then I saw some good reasons to change my mind!)

I don't close my mind to a conservative just based on that fact. If they can provide evidence and facts with their arguments, I have no choice but to review them for what they are. Obviously things like morality are tougher to reach that kind of open discussion on as facts and evidence tend to be a lot less important in those types of conversations.

The sad thing is that Shapiro is actually one of the more principled and reasonable Republicans, especially in the era of Trump where the conservatives that truly value norms and institutions have left the party.

Generally speaking I do like when Bill has Republicans on with the exception of the really nutty Trump supporters like Wayne Allyn Root or the other guy who was on a few times that interrupted and talked over people non-stop. I might be in the minority on that though. In general I like to see both sides talking to one another as long as there is some semblance of good faith involved.

I'm a big fan of Real Time, but this new 1-hr standup special was really meh. You can skip it without fear of missing anything.

Sucks if Republicans are not on. What I've noticed that is different from a few years ago is the panel discussion seems so short. Is that what OT is for?
Monologue, interview, short panel discussion with Bill's bit mixed in then special guest who gets lots of one on one time them pretty much right to new rules.

i will still watch, but didn't yet. bill's stand up has never been that good. he has a couple of memorable bits but for the most part you just find yourself wishing the monologue writers had helped put it together.

Just interview, then panel, then new rules, with no monologue or special guest would probably be a better show.

LOL, this is funny cuz I was gonna post the opposite. I can't stand politics these days so I stay away from politically based shows, but his new standup was pretty good imo. I don't think he's anywhere close to a top tier stand up, as I assume he just isn't touring and it seems like he should have toured for a few more months to polish up his stuff. You could really see the holes in his game. Even tho the stand up had a decent amount of politics in it, it lacked the annoying thing where you have bickering nonsense like on most political shows and was interesting to just get his opinions on current things.

Honestly if he just quit the Real time and did more stand up and ****ting on stupid people movies I'd be happy.

If you haven't been watching his show though, you probably didn't realize that most of the stand up was a rehash of his greatest hits over the last year or so then.

LOL so basically he gave us the best or Real Time bits? That's funny, I can see that tho since most comics tour for 2 years to get a new hour special. He definitely needs to tour more and just forget about his politics show imo. His other stuff like Riligilous and his stand up are more entertaining than Real Time.

I doubt he has all that touring in him tho cuz he let himself get comfortable.

Well, he did just recently tweet that he's going to be covering all the stuff he missed while Real Time was off this month on his upcoming standup dates. Should have saved that for HBO.

religulous is good fun, but the show is infinitely better than his stand up.

Great show this week. Charles Blow and Steve Schmidt were awesome. New rules was a little weak but excellent panel made up for it.

The DOOK professor who came on for the late interview (or whatever they call that segment) was great and deserves her own show

Bill Maher will always have a place since he is one of the few political commentators who doesn't blindly follow his party line.
