Pretty risky to go to the well so much with the Matt Damon joke. I get that I don't watch a lot of ad-supported TV, but I only remember seeing that commercial like twice, so perhaps a segment of the audience didn't get the reference, or had to figure it out after the fact.

Well it just seems like every season or two they have a 'token/black-guy' centric episode, just seems like it is a fall back plot they can re-use if they can't think of anything relevant imo.

I am only 6 minutes into the episode but...

it seems to be quite relevant and current/topical to me

Watched a few more minutes and lol this might be the best 'Tolkien' episode yet and even more relevant than what I linked.

The only recent one I can think of is the Black Panther one, though I've been a bit in and out of South Park in later years

Agree - really solid episode. It worked in so many ways. It also helped that this past month my neighbors across the street put their home up for sale and received over 20 offers within 48 hours. And yes, many a Tesla was spotted among the 100+ parties who attended the open houses.....

so they produce elite content non stop for 25 straight seasons + multiple specials and a feature film but if they do one episode focused on token it upsets you and means they're out of ideas?

so the only reason they'd want to do an episode on the origin of token's name or token period is if they can't think of anything else?

At the risk of jinxing what's yet to come, I feel like this is easily the best season since I started watching again about 5 years ago because my sons got into it. I guess having two years to cook up ideas really let them get their fastball back.

finally watching this season...episode 1 was meh. Episode 2 was pretty good...loved the whole "Token/Tolkien" thing.
