How many episodes are left this season? I think this was okay as a summer show for me, but it's going to fall to the bottom of my sunday night viewing list quickly as all the fall shows premiere.

I was biased at first because I grew up in the area of Boston that the Donovan's are from and it was fun watching them all interact in an other world. i experienced similar when I moved to the south after spending my first 26 years in Boston. Last night might have been the worst episode of any tv show I watched in recent memory. BAD BAD BAD.

I would say 2 great characters, I like Mickey too. Ezra is above average and I like Ray's right hand man, but come on, if u are going to give us a wife who can no longer act( I liked her on DW) at least give her some titties and topless time ( Margaret BWE)

Sully not killing Mickey was just as ridiculous as it was obvious.

The way they should have written it, is for Mickey to somehow find out Sully is town then confront Sully in a public place. Resulting in a similar discussion, except Sully can't kill Mickey then and there and now he has bigger fish to fry so Mickey's off the hook in the meantime. But obviously Sully still has plenty of reason to circle back around to Mickey later.

FWIW, I haven't legit loathed a character as much as her in a very long time.

that would have been so much better. There was no suspense whatsoever in that entire scene, it was super obvious mickey was going to talk his way out of it.

I really want to like this show but its tough to keep pulling for it after an episode like that. Also has anyone else noticed this scene that happens about 3 times an episode:

Ray and wife have a brief moment where they seem like they love each other. They have some playful banter, start to kiss and things are heating up! Then the wife says something awful like "Ray wheya do you go at night?" And then Ray looks at her for a minute and walks out of room, and they close the scene with a shot of the wifes face, looking pained.

I like this, except I don't think Sully is hanging out in public places much. But, yeah, there had to be a better way to set this all off. It's not believable for Sully to back out of the hit there.

It's a good show, I'm liking it, but some flaws for sure.

Hard to see how Ray and Mickey can co-exist for much longer. They're both now pot-committed to have the other killed to save themselves. But surely they wouldn't write off Voight? I don't know.

Beca is much more about the horrible acting than a particularly bad character - She's almost always pretty easy to ignore with respect to the plot. A non-entity most of the time, who just turns up once in a while to suck the energy out of a scene.

If Abby Donovan was played by Meryl Streep I'd still hatehatehate her (probably even more...).

She's Carmela/Skyler White but much much worse.

It's funny. The only episode that didn't get a C or worse (I think) on AVClub is the one **** on the most in this thread. They gave it a B+.

If anyone would rather have their TV viewing ruined this evening rather then take a chance at messing up a Sunday night filled with Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, and The Newsroom finale, tomorrow night's episode of RD is floatin' 'round.

More generally why are TV wives so terrible? I don't watch much television, but some of the shows I have seen over the past few years just have terrible female characters.

Carmela: Makes Tony's life miserable every episode, but she's got no problem spending his money.
Rita from Dexter: I was actually pretty glad when she died.
Dexter's sister: I admit I have to mute her sometimes.
Skylar White: Has this woman been happy one day in her entire life?
Ray's wife: been explained here quite a bit.

blah, liked aspects of this show, but the last two episodes are god awful. Feels like they hired the dexter writers

hhahah yea the series started off good but final few been lame.

The whole sully build up wasn't good enough & tbh i cant really see what's too look forward to for the next season(although ill still watch).

but this series gets more than a pass from considering how strong 80% of the season was, especially comparing it to the rest of the letdowns this year in tv; trueblood, dexter, walking dead & probably millions of other shows i dont pay attention to.

dunno I liked the last ep. The show had only one really dumb ep, where mick didnt get killed. All others were from ok to really good.

Why does it rate so high for you? I think it's a C-show. It has it moments, but it can be a lot of work to get to those.
