New episode was good as usual. I was quite surprised by the n-word scene. They must really be right on the edge of what is and what isn't allowed on non-HBO TV.

For some reason, this season really hasn't hooked me.

I'm just not really buying Vic and Shane being able to work together after jacking eachother's families. I only started watching a couple of seasons a go, but neither of them give off an air of being so pragmatic that they wouldn't just kill each other. The stuff with the Armenians and Mexicans just seems a little convoluted and goofy.

Claudette's plotline just bores me. CCH Pounder is an actress with zero charisma (although the ****** scene was pretty good) and there's so much else going on that her stuff never really adds to anything.

Did the Billings head bumb happen last season and I forgot, or did they just introduce that, and then deal with it in ep1 so that they could give him a reason to be an even bigger piece of ****?

"They must really be right on the edge of what is and what isn't allowed on non-HBO TV."

It's cable, so there's not really any "what's allowed and what's not". As long as the network can run the show without pissing off the people buying ad time, they aren't limited by any set of rules. (although the FCC is/was attempting to regulate cable).

Just finished watching episode 2. Best show ever imo. So sad to see it end.

Dutch: "So..umm..you're a racist now?
How's that working out for you?"
LMFAO

It was just a small moment when Vic was fighting with someone, Forest Whitaker I think, in the barn in an earlier episode, then the actual lawsuit thing was first mentioned in the season finale I'm pretty sure.

Terrific episode imo. I like how they're progressing Wyms very subtly. Obviously her illness is becoming more of a problem (her shaking and limping on the streets, the drugs she was hiding in the barn) and she's too proud to admit it. This is affecting her emotions, and the way she acted out in the scene with the kid was pretty interesting.

I like how Vic manipulated the ICE lady into raiding the Mexicans so they could send the lackey guy away to the mules.

Poor Shane. Nothing he does clears him with the Armenians. I predict bad things for that storyline.

And a special "ha-ha" to Cassidy for reporting Vic's crime to the one detective in the barn (Billings) who wouldn't do anything about it.

This episode just felt like filler to me. I hope they don't just float along and try to wrap everything up in the last 2 episodes.

I hadn't thought of this, but I like it. Personally, though, for some reason I keep thinking Mara isn't gonna make it through the season. She is, for all intents and purposes, the reason they had to scramble after the money train robbery. She is the reason for the split in the group after Lem burned the money. Because of her original action in stealing some of the money and giving it to her scumbag mother, Lem is dead. She is the reason Vic, Ronnie, and Shane are now inflaming a huge gang war (many more people dying, many of the innocent). She is the reason Vic has to make a deal with the devil in order to save his job because he no longer has the Armenian money to fall back on.

"progressing Wyms very subtly."

I wouldn't call it subtle at all. It's realistic, and they're not making it a Very Special Blossom or anything, but it would be hard to miss. (it's weird, because there was a very similar plotline with the only black female on the show Without a Trace, so a lot of the Wyms stuff feels stale).

i understand its the last season and they have to get as much main character action/story as they can but i wish there was more on dannie and even some julian, he became likable over the years. man i wish every episode was 2 hours. im gonna be so bummed when its over

i cant see the show ending any other way than vic dying or in jail. maybe ronnie kills shane and vic decides to take the blame? im thinking something big with ronnie will happen. that mara idea is interesting, and makes a lot of sense, but i hope it doesnt happen, she sucks so bad.

Great episode last night. I was afraid Vic was setting up Shane to get busted by the ICE people when he called the lady and told her "it's going down." But then I realized that would be dumb of Vic, and the way it went down was pretty good.

The last scene of the episode was one of the all time great tense moments in the show's history. First Ronnie's monologue putting his foot down, then Shane bringing the evidence (did he lie to Mara about having another copy? I think so), then Vic "making amends" to Shane and apologizing/burying the hatchet (which all felt fake, especially when he sneered at Shane's departure a moment later). Really amazing drama.

I think so, otherwise he wouldn't have been freaking out when he didn't find the envelope initially.

I think so too, but even if he had another copy he'd be freaking out about not finding the envelope. Remember, its full of **** he's done and there's no way he wants that getting out.

show has become sooo YAWN. the scene with the 'bug' in the office was so ****ing unrealistic.

ill see it through to the end though.

Agree that all the ways they keep staying clear with the Armenians is incredibly unbelievable. The whole sequence of the super easy theft- setup bust - and finding the bug was ridiculous.

Also wouldn't the cops have a log on who turned in that Escalade?

That being said, I still really enjoy the show. It's just funny because what drew me in during the first couple seasons were the "action" sequences but now I think the best scenes are the ones where everyone just yells at one another haha.

End scene was sick.
Predictions: Cassidy will file some sort of child abuse claim
Ronny tries to burn the other two and gets screwed over.

i really have a feeling this show is going to end with a hamlet-like bodycount. knowing that this is the final season, every week it seems like each character becomes more and more likely to end up dead.

I loved the final scene as well, in spite of its ambiguity. I wish I could see this ending well for Vic, Ronnie and Shane, but I don't see a reasonable way that happens. Hopefully, Aceveda takes the fall too.

On the other hand, I'm geekishly-optimistic for Dutch. I still think, in the end, Dutch brings down the strike team, as he is a relentless detective. If only he's banging Tina Hanlon by the finale, I can rest at ease.

How many episodes are in this season? I vaguely remember Dutch getting on the trail of the Strike Team in the money train investigation but it feels like there just isn't enough time left for that to happen.
