Anyone see a future for this show?

There's a bunch of supes but only seven are solving crimes and also they suck at it?

More like 5 or 6 really. Spoiler but when Homelander solves that that robbery case in the last episode it was literally eye popping!

Wow that was an insane season finale!

For me this is the best show running at the moment

still watching but writing is pretty bad. everything that happens to the plot is based on the fact that homelander just can't kill butcher. happened like 5 times this season.

They need a new gimmick!
The exploding head thing was fun but it's getting old.

This show is entertaining but it’s nowhere near top tier TV.

I liked the finale.

Its pretty much the exact same kind of watch as Banshee. The writing is only ok, some characters were great, some plot holes at times and its a ton of fun to watch for what it is.

So much better than the comics. Stormfront was great. I m à bit worried by the ending state which could make a super stale 3rd season

I don't think they actually have a plan for season 3, but threw that little cliffhanger in to leave the door open. Seems somewhat wrapped up to me

7.5/10. Pretty good, not elite.

immediate edit: Nope, 3rd season ordered, spinoff in works. lol me

Not even close to wrapped up. Homeowner is going to continue to mentally break and probably go searching for his son again. Storefront is chewed up pretty bad but that certainly didn't stop Anakin from becoming Darth Vader, now did it?

and if there's one thing we know is true, it's that you

Spoiler:
can't stop the A-Train, baby!

I didn’t really like the finale.

Spoiler:
The 100th talk between Becca and butcher just doesn’t engage me. The heroes spent so much time messing around with regular guns that everyone knows do nothing against supes. I can get up for Frenchie making cool solutions but it basically didn’t matter to the plot. In two seasons Starlight has done basically jack with her powers and didn’t do anything with them in the final fight, which I thought was just so awful. They could have done a lot contrasting the powers of the fighters but it just devolved into a stupid talk and punch that didn’t do a good job of showcasing or differentiating the participants.

Too bad because I really thought they had more in mind than that snoozer. They laid the groundwork for the “every hero has a weakness” in season 1 and it would have been a lot more rewarding if they fleshed that out a bit more. Would have also been happy Starlight finally letting loose and ****ing **** up. The way they ended it with the kid was just about as predictable as you could make it.

I thought the church thing was really funny and well done and I’m pretty sad they killed the boss, I liked his character. Hopefully that comes back in season 2, would lol if deep became the new cult leader or something

PUTTING IN SPOILERS ALSO

Spoiler:
i don't get how kicking and punching stormfront on the ground hurts her. You can kinda hear her going ouch ooh ahhh ouch... yes bullets do nothing ? is the suit she wears the protection against bullets ? yet a knife in the eye works ?
also the kicks n punches seem to hurt but a crow bar across the back when she has butchers wife up against the tree doesnt hurt one bit ??

i agree with the above post tho anakin/vader

i enjoy the boys - i mean the storyline is a bit far fetched but i think thats the point

Finally finished season 2 today. Rewatched season one first as I was waiting for season 2 to be all there so I could binge it. I thought the first couple of season 2 episodes were slow and boring. But then it really picked up steam. This is a really enjoyable show for me.

Butcher is an all-time great tv character and makes the show work.

I'm surprised that people find The Boys to be compelling characters at all. They are tired action movie cliches. Oh dear me, we have all suffered tragic losses at the hands of the villain, and we are going to form a unique buddy cop bond never before seen in fiction as our maladjusted band of brothers finds out that the real superheroes are the friends we made along the way! Hughie, you're the worst. Butcher is OK, but wouldn't even rate as a memorable tough guy in a bad Guy Ritchie script.

Am I missing something with these guys that's lost in translation from the comics? Is boring cliched hero somehow a feature and not a bug here?

The Supes are the only thing keeping me watching this show. Aya Cash as Stormfront and Antony Starr as Homelander are just outstanding. I could not care less about anything to do with The Boys and their girls, but Homelander's relationships are great.

one of those shows thats just a fun ride if you dont think super hard about, and its diff than most superhero shows we get in a saturated market of super hero bs

Cool. My memory is crap, so I can never remember what's going on.

Finally realised that watching YouTube recaps is way easier and much, much less time-consuming than attempting to rewatch the whole show again!

Hiding behind the over the top gore and violence is an incredibly intricate character study of all the main characters. It’s a serious exploration of what real super human powers would Do to the psyche's of both supes and normal people.

Plus, you get to see a tiny termite sized supe jump into a penis.

Yes agree . The showmakers of "The Boys" go for shock value in dialogue and imaginative sex/gore scenes every chance they can. I stopped watching the show for awhile because it was too much even for me, who has watched many extreme horror movies. But it does have multidimensional characters and the plots are relatively plausible for a superhero show. The crazy way the media is perverted seems unpleasantly real. The narcissistic, overly powerful, Homelander character is a perfect villain character for our current fad of celebrity worship in the USA . We all want him constrained, but I wonder how the story can get there. Could "Nadia" do it? I can't say too much more for fear of having my own head exploded. Overall a grade A- show for me.

Antony Starr as Homelander should win every award known to man. He gives me absolute chills with just a narrowing of his eyes or a slightly clenched jaw. He’s about to lose it completely, and that’s going to be a genocide.
