kinda hate to say it sine I hate superhero films/shows/stuff but when people told me this is actually a good series.

man

they were right, its just super tight and super solid w great production for a amazon series, i had low hopes coming in, but damn was it a fun watch. I dont know the comics or know how season 2 will really go since a lot of things seems resolved but id gladly watch 2-3 more seasons of this +

I want to say the writers and directors did a fine line between dark and grim and yet a few funny liners and takes. super solid and balanced. I liked the over more "mature" tone

have only seen 1 ep of watchman, will see more. not to be arrogant or ignorant bu it has to be the boys due to their take. both are similar in terms of atmosphere but boys is a bit easily digestible

Boys was a lot of fun, but Watchmen is on a different level. Episode 8 of Watchmen was elite. They are both good shows so watch them both.

Boys is great.

Watchmen is on another level.

I put it on a Wire/Sopranos vs Breaking Bad scale. All are fantastic, but Wire and Sopranos were clearly higher degree of difficulty.

Don't like superhero stuff but this was great. Not really even a noticeable bad/boring moment in the first season.

Hate that I just watched it and now the season 2 is coming out once a week, so I have one month of fighting with myself if I should start watching or if I can handle waiting a month.

first s02 3 eps spoiler

I really don't like the plot armor they gave butcher. they had a deal to keep him alive...? or what? she's locked with her son, there's absolutely nothing she can do to stop homelander from seeing her son lol. he even tells her he's in control when he mentions what the guard said to her when she was trying to leave or talk to doctor park. it just feels like they wanted to end s01 on a high note and had that scene between butcher and homelander without ever thinking about how the **** he'd escape it. other than that I'm enjoying second season and my fav scene was def the deep meeting the guys at the shore lol

i have that too thethethe. its kind of a gift. i can rewatch shows and enjoy them all over again.

i read all the game of thrones books multiple times and watched the tv shows multiple times, and still stuff i can't remember about it. took me like 4 times to remember who won the fight between the mountain and oberon. it was exciting watching their fight every time

It seems like there was a deal between the mom and homelander but I also think that he enjoys the emotional torment he's causing butcher. Having him know that his wife is alive and that homelander will have a relationship with the son is real torture. I don't believe purely a deal would protect butcher because that sort of thing is unlikely to matter to homelander, especially when there are no witnesses. Based on their characters though, homelander should have just killed him away from the family imo.

Strong start to season 2 IMO, I'm quite enjoying it. Some interesting twists and I think I enjoy Stormfront.

I also thought that Homelander's son having powers and there being a genetic component link vs. superheroes being 'made' was also interesting.

2nd season getting raked across the coals in reviews. 2.5 stars on Amazon right now. I am quite surprised. Only a couple of episodes in, but I am enjoying it so far.

It's 100% due to people being irritated the last 5 eps are airing a week apart. First three eps have been on par with s1 imo.

Ws surprised that Stormfront turned out to be super evil, though I should have seen it coming. They even threw in a little racist quip at the end there. We might see Homelander snap in the middle of the season with the way things are going. I think something big is going to happen with the kid as that is a pretty big divergence from the comics.
